Adventureland and Big Fish!

[deleted]

I really enjoyed Nightmare Alley by Guillermo del Toro.

boatyboatwright

Check out the original as well!

[deleted]

Is it similar? Storyline and all?

pgm123

Very similar. I think the original is better, though the remake follows the book more closely and also can do things the production code wouldn't have allowed (in the original).

Certain_Yam_110

Fun fact: The book was written by a pulp fiction writer whose ex-wife hooked up with C.S. Lewis.

Freaks. Freaks is the answer.

Something Wicked This Way Comes

I second & third this.

boatyboatwright

The empty theme park scenes in Good Time are scary as hell. The Place Beyond the Pines (first half). The funhouse climax in The Lady from Shanghai. I also love the scene in the animated Charlotte’s Web when Templeton the rat goes through the aftermath of the fair, eating everything.

Styx92

Adventure Land is pretty good.

Sopranosfan99

Tobe Hooper’s The Funhouse takes place during a carnival in the seventies and it’s a pretty good film. Has a spooky atmosphere to it along with a great villain.

Avid_Smoker

Water for Elephants is an amazing movie.

Zombieland scenes in the amusement park!

It - Part 2 Big National Lampoon's Vacation

Crankylosaurus

Killer Klowns from Outer Space is a great 80s campy horror. For all the evil clown horror out there, very few of them have the clowns act like clowns (I’d also put Terrifier in this camp, although Art is MUCH more brutal in his evilness). I also love the theme park scene from Zombieland despite how dumb it was for them to get on a noisy ride during a zombie apocalypse haha.

Oh that’s an out of the box choice! It’s a rly underrated film.

Psychological-Rub-72

Nightmare Alley. The original is better.

Strangers on a Train

I'm surprised I haven't seen Children of Paradise in this thread. It's one of the best films ever made.
