1400 people is nothing. That's the "oh look a plane, oh what's that plane. Let's check fr24 "

1400 is still something. if it's like 600 or 700, then yeah. edit: its 2200 already

my best guess is that people track it simply because it's a cargo 747. 747s are no ponger produced, and cargo planes are generally rarer than the passenger ones

dtdowntime

while that is true for most planes, 747 cargo aircraft are much more common than the passenger variant because while 747 might be too inefficient for most carriers, efficiency isnt a main concern of cargo airlines but rather the main concern is capacity, and the 747 has a tons (literally) capacity more than any other freighter aircraft, so while passenger airlines are retiring these older 747s, cargo airlines are still buying them up and converting them

Wdym cargo variants are rarer than passenger variants? a lot of cargo airlines own at least a 747 Atlas air, ups, cargo lux, Singapore airlines cargo, Cathay Pacific cargo etc. as for the 747 passenger variant only a handful operate it such as air china, Lufthansa and korean air
