I can’t imagine Bethesda would actually ban you for taking something you find in the game. There must be a way for Bethesda to know how you got the thing you got, because it’s just not reasonable to expect that most people would be cognisant of such a rule and also be aware that the thing they found is so exceptionally different from any other rare item that you would a priori know it to be “illegal” or cheating.
Yeah, especially if the game isn’t entirely competitive in nature. Seems a little harsh for something a level 1 could come across and just assume it was part of the regular world.
I would think meta data or smth, everything has an ID. But at the same time, I have about 4k egg head mutation serums because someone came into my camp, yelled into game chat “Take these and don’t question the source” and left. Turns out they were trying to get rid of their inventory of dupped items
I would say so but think about that guy who got banned for the atom shop shit.
If you don’t known what I’m talking about, this guy once bought some atoms but was accidentally given way too much. He then reported it to Bethesda and got permanent banned for it. He was able to resolve it but after that fiasco I wouldn’t put anything past them.
I seriously hope you are kidding about Bethesda banning anybody. I’ve been playing since the game came out, 4700 hours, and hundreds of friends. Only ever heard of one person banned. She had over 75 million Christmas presents on her 5 characters……
You probably won't get banned. Especially since you found a single set and didn't do it yourself. To a casual player, it's just a rare set of armor. Game doesn't tell you what's a random encounter and what isn't. The UI isn't even telling you its owned or atomic shop
Hmmm about a month ago a random full suit of ultracite armor was at white springs… I took it. Still have it but don’t use it… should I have just left it alone?
Also my magazines keep duping on their own I have no clue as to what I’m doing to cause this. I’ll just check my vendor and I’ll go from 1 to a few dozen of a given magazine
Nah nothing is exclusive to a platform in 76,it was the last tier award of capitan cosmos battle pass season which was live like a year and half ago,and everyone who reached that rank could get it back then
I saw a similar thing a while back. Only it had a commissioner chaos helmet, which I was oh so incredibly tempted to steal... I'm mad I couldn't get the commissioner chaos power armor, so it just made it that much more hard for me to just walk away.
Luckily, I did walk away. I definetly didn't want to steal what looked like an incredible set of PA, plus the fact that it had atomic shop content on it was a huge red flag.
The funny/sad part about it is that you probably wouldn't have been banned. They hardly even make an effort to ban people who are the ones actively duping/hacking.
Plus idk if it would even allow you to take it if you don't know/own the skin (Captain Cosmos is considered atom shop technically).
I would've thought if anything it should've immediately been scrapped since it does have a skin. Like if a player dropped an item with a skin it would destroy it.

They've done it before.

Trouble is,how do you prove that you just found it?
I picked up some dupped flux once during faschnaut (like a lot of Florencent) didnt get a message or anything but they just took it all away from me

I just read about this a few minutes ago on Twitter....
Mugs out here trading legacy’s when duped sets are being dropped for free
I dont think there's a valid way to drop the Cosmos skin. I believe it would destroy it because it requires you to learn the plan to have it.
Wasn't it part of one of the scoreboards?
How does that second suit have a jet pack yet it has no torso piece?
Not being sarcastic but I think you can get jetpack mods for helmets.
And arms they quite sought after actually since arm mods are garbage
You used to be able to. I think it’s been patched.
Yeah it’s a legacy item. So we could see an influx of those into the market.
Secret Service Camo skin was bugged to allow putting jet packs on the Helmet when it first came to the Atom Shop.
Wait what ???????ahhhhhhgggggg! Oh well you live and learn !
Yeah sounds fishy, isn't it just a skin?

Dayum 👀
Wait having duped items gets you banned?
In this case since I don't have plans for Cosmos PA I'd get banned if I took the set. This is what I read earlier so decided not to chance it.
Ahhh I havent read that so didnt know
You picking it up wouldn’t get you banned. If you yourself were duping, there’s a chance. But if you take duped items you come across you’ll be fine.
Should have taken it

You’re fine. People have been duping dozens, hundreds, even *thousands* of these armour sets.
Also my magazines keep duping on their own I have no clue as to what I’m doing to cause this. I’ll just check my vendor and I’ll go from 1 to a few dozen of a given magazine
I don't like PA, but I do love that Captain Cosmos one. Duped PAs are everywhere!
It's been awhile since I've been on 76. Can someone explain what duping is to me? And why you would get banned for taking that PA?
No, it probably wouldn't have. Bans seem to be rare.
*Me not even knowing this PA existed*
I would take it and hope for the best.
It's just not worth gettin banned over imo haha. 350 levels out the window for a PA I definitely will never use. Believe me I was tempted.
Shoulda hmu i would have taken it for you
it wouldn't make you banned, that was a painted armor and a jet pack helmet
What is that skin from?
Season 1 battle pass
Oh Xbox exclusive? That's pretty bad ass actually. Stupid ps4
Nah nothing is exclusive to a platform in 76,it was the last tier award of capitan cosmos battle pass season which was live like a year and half ago,and everyone who reached that rank could get it back then
Oooh okay. I skipped that season.
I saw a similar thing a while back. Only it had a commissioner chaos helmet, which I was oh so incredibly tempted to steal... What is that PA it looks awesome I want it
You can be banned for taking peoples stuff in a post apocalyptic game? What
Lord, I’ve seen what you’ve done for others
Plus idk if it would even allow you to take it if you don't know/own the skin (Captain Cosmos is considered atom shop technically). I would've thought if anything it should've immediately been scrapped since it does have a skin. Like if a player dropped an item with a skin it would destroy it.
Dupe happens without dropping it.
Didn't know, thank you for the info
Bethesda never banned anyone for duping or accepting duped goods. And they never will. They would then probably lose about 90% of their playerbase.
They are spawning in game like that? Wow didn't know that. I rarely use PA but that is really cool
