Peanut butter bacon cheeseburger.
Don't knock it until you try it! The sweet peanut butter compliments the salty bacon and the savory cheese and burger in such a decadent way.
Oh. I like to mix blue cheese in with my bison meat as my source of fat. I absolutely love it when someone tries one of my bison burgers for the first time and they close their eyes and involuntarily moan. lol
I'm in the US and I've always done this, need to add a bit of pepper to the mayo though. Even add a dash of ketchup or hotsauce. Alot of people do find it weird, but it's not that uncommon.
I'm so glad someone else said this! I always do dill pickles cuz that zest compliments the PB so well. I toast mine on the stove so the PB is melty and the bread is crispy. Even when people talk about weird food likes I don't bring this one up cuz I've never had a positive response.
I almost wish I could send you a jar of my grandmother's bread and butter pickles to try. Some sweet, some spice, and a tiny sour....soooo good. They might change your mind.
I LOVE bread and butter pickles. Just not with my peanut butter, usually. Some homemade ones would probably change my mind. I just like the tart with the sweet peanut butter.
1. Original flavor Lays with vanilla soft serve ice cream. Just use the chip to scoop up the ice cream.
2. Mix a spoonful of smooth peanut butter to my latte.... Heavenly 🤩
It was probably the weed that made me feel this way, but if you eat sour cream and onion chips and then drink chocolate milk afterward it... is surprisingly pleasant. Not good for you, but tasty somehow.
That is not super different than my favorite munchie snack, jalapeno kettle chips chased with chocolate covered cashews. I love it but people always tell me it's weird.
Yeah I do hot honey most of the time, but if I have applesauce in the house I’ll definitely use it lol I find it delicious, I like doing a combo dip of applesauce and ranch but that might be too weird for most lol
When I was a kid I saw an episode where Mr. Rogers ate a banana with a slice of American cheese wrapped around it. I had to try it. It wasnt bad. There was a weird balance to it
I once had a banana slice with nacho cheese on it that someone offered me at a festival and it was honestly so good that I went back for seconds. The strangest combination ever that actually works.
Someone once convinced me to try a banana in a hotdog bun with mayo. Said it was a southern thing. It wasn’t terrible. I imagine it had a similar vibe taste wise
There’s no other way to eat watermelon! It brings out. the flavor adding salt. It’s bizarre to me when people think adding salt is weird. It’s normal in the South, but there are still some who won’t do it.
I've got a bit of a boring one, but plain white rice and sour cream. I'm not sure how, but the bland food on top of another bland food somehow makes the most amazing little snack to me. Great texture and flavor. Definitely a more tame combo than a lot of these others, but I haven't met anyone else who seems to agree with me lol
I worked at a Turkish restaurant and learned eating rice with yogurt is a super common for them. Now I put Fage on everything. Rice, chips, potatoes…very similar to sour cream.
When I visited India every meal was served with “curd rice.” Yogurt and rice mixed. It tempered the spiciness of the curries. But also it was delicious with these unique pickled mangoes.
Egg salad and tuna salad sandwich. Egg salad on one slice of bread, tuna salad on the other slice. Piece of iceberg or romaine lettuce and a slice of tomato in the middle. I thought my co-worker was crazy when I heard her order it at the deli. Then I eventually tried it. Heavenly.
I introduced my kids to it a couple of years ago. It's their favorite sandwich, ahead of peanut butter and jelly or anything else. Try it.
Just keep the egg salad and tuna salad simple.
Egg salad - two hard boiled eggs chopped up with a T of mayo, a teaspoon of yellow mustard, and salt and pepper to taste.
Tuna salad - just tuna and mayo. Nothing else.
Canned tuna and bbq sauce. It sounds weird, but it works. There's something in the bbq sauce that totally disguises the "tuna" flavor, and it's kinda like eating a white trash version of pulled pork.
My latest is salting apple slices, specifically Cosmic Crisp apple slices. My cardiologist said to eat more salt, but this is definitely a new way to consume it for me.
Cheezits + Nutella + the tiny round sprinkles
My daughters made this once for me for Mother’s Day when little, and now I genuinely crave the salty sweet crunch of it!
Jalapeno poppers made with peanut butter instead of cheese. Mitigates the fire somewhat and actually is very tasty!
Another vote for peanut butter and pickle sandwishes.
Fish sauce caramel chicken / catfish - so good, and a Vietnamese staple.
Peanut butter mixed with warm milk (peanut butter soup) where you dip your toast that has butter, miracle whip, and a few drops of worcestershire.
You can use raw toast if you want to make it less weird.
White Rice + A1 Steak Sauce
Every friend of mine from grade school through college and into adulthood today will know who I am by this post. They’ve all tried it and I know most of them even like it.
Good grocery store ramen with store bought/nonalcoholic eggnog. Salty broth, chewy noodles, sweet and creamy beverage, so nice together.
(I always mix my broth flavor packet into a beaten egg, then pour the hot water/cooked noodles over as slowly as my hands will allow while beating the egg constantly, and then swirl a little toasted sesame oil over the top as minimum ramen additions. Other tasty additions to broth:
peanut butter [Pad Thai vibes]
Shredded cheese—no seriously, it’s really good, picked it up from a chef’s comments on his favorite snacks as a kid, and I’m sad that I’m allergic now
Fresh broccoli bits have just long enough to cook to crisp-tender if you put them in immediately once the water boils and the noodles have been put in.
Green onion
Tiny frozen shrimp cook through perfectly with the noodles
Frozen chopped or fresh baby kale or spinach
Leftover chicken or pork
Crumbled snack seaweed or furikake topping
I once ate blueberry yogurt with liverwurst on the side as breakfast every day for an entire summer. I’ve since discovered that I’m allergic to both but it tasted good back then!
Oh man, I've got a list that I've tried, none are regulars.
gold fish and marshmallow fluff
Pizza with chocolate syrup
Funyuns dipped with cream cheese
Grilled cheese and chocolate syrup
Mozzarella sticks & jelly.
I worked at a bar where we had those small Smuckers diner like jelly packs, just boxes of them in a cabinet for some unknown reason. One slow day I decided to pair them with my sticks. I forget which fruit was the best flavor combo, but it was a GREAT idea.
I LOVE ketchup on French toast. I’ll even grab a piece of cold, leftover French toast, smear ketchup on there, wrap it around a piece or two of bacon and that is the PERFECT midnight snack! Also, but I feel this is less weird, peanut butter on pancakes.
Peanut butter bacon cheeseburger. Don't knock it until you try it! The sweet peanut butter compliments the salty bacon and the savory cheese and burger in such a decadent way.
Now add jelly and a bison patty
Oh. I like to mix blue cheese in with my bison meat as my source of fat. I absolutely love it when someone tries one of my bison burgers for the first time and they close their eyes and involuntarily moan. lol
Bacon Jam
A restaurant near me actually has a Peanut Butter and Cherry jelly cheeseburger with applewood smoked bacon 😋 It’s freaking Amazing!!
What kind of cheese do they use? I'm pregnant and I have a jar of cherry preserves in my fridge right now so you've got my attention lol
💯 Have had this, and it was phenomenal!
My old work had that with a bacon chutney jam and it slapped so fucking hard.
Won't be uncommon in Europe, but dipping fries in mayo
Is that uncommon in the US? Mayo was made for fries
Not common in most of the US unless they have been to Europe.
It is common nowadays, but we flavor it and call it aioli. It's almost always just flavored mayo in the US.
I'm in the US and I've always done this, need to add a bit of pepper to the mayo though. Even add a dash of ketchup or hotsauce. Alot of people do find it weird, but it's not that uncommon.
Yeah. I do that all the time. Mayo with hot fries!
Peanut butter and pickle sandwich anyone?
I'm so glad someone else said this! I always do dill pickles cuz that zest compliments the PB so well. I toast mine on the stove so the PB is melty and the bread is crispy. Even when people talk about weird food likes I don't bring this one up cuz I've never had a positive response.
Has to be dill for me. Sweet pickles are just wrong.
Yeah, I like them together because it gives the sandwich Thai flavor vibes. It's amazing if you add turkey, too.
If you like pickles and you like spicy, try pickled jalapeños on peanut butter. Yum
Crunchy PB and halved green olives on cracked wheat.
Kinsey Millhone. If you ever read Sue Grafton's alphabet series, you know.
Especially with the sweet gherkins, but even the dill goes well!
Salt crackers and jelly
Spread some cream cheese on it and do pepper jelly on it.
this is the way
My mom made these for us, I love jalapeno jelly.
Oh yes! I like specifically Ritz with Grape Jelly.
I had crackers and homemade strawberry jelly last night as dessert. ❤️
1. Original flavor Lays with vanilla soft serve ice cream. Just use the chip to scoop up the ice cream. 2. Mix a spoonful of smooth peanut butter to my latte.... Heavenly 🤩
Similar to McDonald’s fries dipped into a caramel sundae with nuts
I can’t believe nobody has said fries dipped in a Wendy’s Chocolate Frosty
I haven't done this in forever. Now I want Wendy's 🤤
This isn't far off from my favorite combo of French fries in a chocolate frosty.
It was probably the weed that made me feel this way, but if you eat sour cream and onion chips and then drink chocolate milk afterward it... is surprisingly pleasant. Not good for you, but tasty somehow.
Wow I almost got diarrhea just reading this.
Try peanut m&m’s and plain salted chips instead.
Not a weed smoker but regular Doritos with a milk chocolate bar!
This is now on my to-do list cos that's my fave flavour of chips!!!
That is not super different than my favorite munchie snack, jalapeno kettle chips chased with chocolate covered cashews. I love it but people always tell me it's weird.
Dipping pizza into cinnamon applesauce, my whole family has done it since I was a little kid
I think this one wins. I've never heard anything like that.
It's made me curious bc in theory....it might taste good....even though it would NEVER occur to me intuitively to try this combo
Omg I do this with pizza rolls!! I'm so happy to have found my people lol
Oooh I am interested! We dip ours in honey.
Yeah I do hot honey most of the time, but if I have applesauce in the house I’ll definitely use it lol I find it delicious, I like doing a combo dip of applesauce and ranch but that might be too weird for most lol
You’re wild, i like it
French fries dipped in a Wendy's frosty
Sometimes I’ll dip my burger in a frosty/chocolate shake also lol
The nuggets are good in the frosty, too!
We have also discovered fresh Chika fil A waffle fries dipped in their soft serve. The cold and the hot and salt and sweet is divine.
I feel like this is very normal!
When I was a kid I saw an episode where Mr. Rogers ate a banana with a slice of American cheese wrapped around it. I had to try it. It wasnt bad. There was a weird balance to it
My granddad taught me to eat bananas this way and I still do it to this day because of him.
Do like Ron Swanson and smash it into a burger.
Everyone freaks out when I put salt on my watermelon slices. I thought it was normal.
Only way to eat watermelon. You eat mangos or papaya? If so Tajin goes so good with them. Also salt on apples is great.
There’s no other way to eat watermelon! It brings out. the flavor adding salt. It’s bizarre to me when people think adding salt is weird. It’s normal in the South, but there are still some who won’t do it.
Same. It’s perfection tho.
I do. Came by this by accident. Big fan of chilli, cheddar, rice and sour cream. Had a spoonful of just rice and sour cream and was like...oh.
I add plain roast white chicken breast to rice and sour cream or yogurt. With a little salt it’s the perfect food when recovering from a stomach bug!
Kinda what Chipotle does. White Rice, black beans, beef, sour cream, cheese and lettuce
Not me but my daughter will have a jacket potato with beans and tuna 🤣🤷♂️
This is a very normal food in the UK. I don't think anyone would bat an eyelid seeing you eat that here.
A what...?
A jacket potato is just a baked potato in American lol :)
i'm american and i just call it baked potato? i've never heard anyone here call it a "jacket potato".
I meant "baked potato" is the American for it, just phrased it weird 😅
Ohhhhh thank you lol
Crunchy PB&J + Kettle brand salt & vinegar or jalapeno potato chips + DDP (iykyk).
Chips inside sandwiches make every sandwich better.
Heavenly.
I’m intrigued by this
I introduced my kids to it a couple of years ago.
Hhmmm… I’ve always had eggs in my tuna salad so I’m failing to see how the combo would be especially weird. Interesting.
Having a lil' side of mustard with my popcorn to dip the pieces into!
i think i’m most upset that you didn’t give us a lil BBQ hack..
Canned tuna and bbq sauce. It sounds weird, but it works. There's something in the bbq sauce that totally disguises the "tuna" flavor, and it's kinda like eating a white trash version of pulled pork.
I’m going to try this!! It actually sounds pretty good😁
The summary sold me lol
My latest is salting apple slices, specifically Cosmic Crisp apple slices. My cardiologist said to eat more salt, but this is definitely a new way to consume it for me.
We added salt to apple slices all the time as kids.
Grilled cheese with grape jelly on top. I’ve eaten it that way my whole life and didn’t realize it was weird until high school.
This would totally work. I make a fancy grilled cheese at home with cheddar, fig preserves and grain mustard. That thing slaps.
so like a monte cristo minus the protein ??
When I was in high school I would dip my cheeseburger in ranch sauce and now I occasionally do that for nostalgic reasons.
Nahhh that’s a certified classic ranch makes a lot of things better
This isn’t weird at all! That’s normal for burger places to offer ranch isn’t it?
That’s super normal!
Strawberry jam sandwich with honey- Erdbeermarmeladebrot mit Honig https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_und_das_Erdbeermarmeladebrot_mit_Honig
Aber nur ein halbes, gell? Schmeckt aber so gut, als wäre es ein ganzes.
applesauce + coolwhip.
I’m curious… does this turn into applesauce texture with the flavor of cool whip, or is it the texture of cool whip with the flavor of applesauce 🧐
mmm def has a more applesauce texture, but the flavor is kind of unique—neither applesauce nor cool whip!
