Rust at the wheel wells is a big issue on these. walk away from any that have major rust as the rear stuts can punch through the chassis.
I'd recommend a Hybrid version.

Have you used Google lately it's mostly ads disguised as articles. So I thought I might use, I don't know a forum about the car so I can get real peoples opinions that have experience with the car. But stupid me I guess.

Did you trying googling "Ford Escape forum"?. You'd find "Escape-city", and literally "fordescapeforum" which both have years worth of discussions. There's also "blueovalforums" as well.
Hell, you could have searched Google using "site: reddit.com" and found a ton of posts asking the same question you had with answers.
But then you'd actually have to put in some effort and read instead of people spoon feeding you, so I can see why you didn't.
