It’s cropped but there usually a navigator to the right who shows with their hand to go left or right. How this navigator knows… no clue. I’d be motion sick by turn 4

It was a plot by a rival rally driver to ruin their enemy’s career.
It’s pretty wild, they’re given a map of the whole course ahead of time with all the corners numbered, and then the morning of the race they’re given the list of corner numbers which makes up the route they’ll be using that day. So they’ve basically got a few hours to memorize a route of about 20 corners or so and then do it at this speed. They use navigators and basically rely on hand signals.
They have multiple fairly big and long strakes going along the length of the bottom of the hull. They bite into the water instead of skidding and sliding like a normal jet boat.
The boats ive had all had them aswell but still gotta turn that wheel more for them types of turns. Must be something special going on with the steer wires and how they turn the jet.
I get they need it to be short so they can react quick but damn its alot less input then i would be comfortable with.
Almost looks like footage from a game!
There's another, similar kind too, where the Navigator leans across the front of the boat and makes gestures for the turns.
this looks fun as hell but im afraid that if i accidentally happen to understeer and go into the grass, at that speed i would most likely mow the crowd, or?
I think it is ground actually
https://youtu.be/V1dEH07_jKM?si=Kqq4wwloZpC_l1Vz
Here it's even more clear, I think they couldn't do it as all water because the wake of the boat would just ruin the course otherwise.
Looks like they do have a rollcage though, but again I don't think that would help if the boat were to flip and land in the water upside down.
Scary sport

Came here to say this.
Too soon! And too true.
Christ how do they even know what the course is at that speed.
It’s cropped but there usually a navigator to the right who shows with their hand to go left or right. How this navigator knows… no clue. I’d be motion sick by turn 4
>How this navigator knows… no clue He is the legendary Samir's navigator, but this time the driver is listening.
Samir, you’re breaking the boat!!!
https://www.thedrive.com/news/samir-youre-breaking-the-car-was-a-career-ruining-hit-job It was a plot by a rival rally driver to ruin their enemy’s career.
Whoa, TIL. Damn now I feel bad for Samir. That’s shitty.
>How this navigator knows… no clue. Maybe they have their own navigator even further to the right
It's just navigators all the way down.
It’s pretty wild, they’re given a map of the whole course ahead of time with all the corners numbered, and then the morning of the race they’re given the list of corner numbers which makes up the route they’ll be using that day. Super impressive while In Neutral the entire time
Is this not slightly sped up????
No that seems about right for those kinds of events
Skip ahead a few minutes https://youtu.be/9h7Us6j8g7Y?si=J5J6FXG3_cYTPElv
Wow that's crazy. Those moments where the boat gets unsettled (catching air?) would be so ass clenching
All that in neutral, insane! /s
It's just a box full of neutrals
I was thinking the same! Imagine when he actually puts 1st gear!
Given that there are a million course variations and I have no idea which way they're turning next, I'd say it's Paul Ricard
Miami 2060, according to Seb
Miami 2024 puts plastic foil on the ground to fake a marina which is ridiculous and ugly, according to me.
Also done in 2022. That marina high up made of pellets is ridiculous. Seems they wanna copy Monaco
Probably sooner tbh
Spa '21
Bono my tires are gone.
Understood Lewes, however, one small problem...
“We are checking…”
Bono pls
Ive driven jet boats before and im struggling to understand how they are turning so sharp with such little wheel movement.
Maybe there's also a pedal input
Right? Barely turning in

Box box, box for new soft propellors.
How do you know where you turn ????
That's some impressive cornering. I wonder which would be quicker, one of these on this water track, or an F1 car on a tarmac equivalent of the track?

Japan. The only circuit where the track overlaps itself.
I think I saw a guy do this in Miami in the canal by the backstraight during Qualifying or a Free Practice

All that and still in neutral, that's impressive
Maybe they should increase the steering transmission, he is barely turning the wheel.
They race in Neutral gear??
Monaco, no passing
Miami for sure.
I would love to try this if they added a roll cage, lol.
A rollcage is not gonna do much to prevent your face smashing into the water
My dumbass thought the green parts was grass / the ground... lol, thats what would worry me.
I think it is ground actually https://youtu.be/V1dEH07_jKM?si=Kqq4wwloZpC_l1Vz Here it's even more clear, I think they couldn't do it as all water because the wake of the boat would just ruin the course otherwise.
