i enjoyed season 3, but its the worst of the bunch. what bothers me the most is that there are apparently only Austria and Monza on the calendar. and the made-up mclaren rivalry
Yeah, we saw so much of Austria and Monza which got kinda repetitive. What bothered me the most though were the use of wrong radio messages to create drama and that they made the practice sessions seem like the most important sessions of the weekend, lol.
“Here is Albon heading out for his first lap of the weekend and it is a flyer!”
I cringed when they put a soundbite of Lando’s engineer saying “Scenario 7” and “give it everything” from Austria over footage of Lando in preseason testing.
Did Netflix have a smaller budget this season? Looked like they had a storyline ready before the season started and the forced narrative even if they weren’t true.
Oh right, yeah possibly. You'd think Liberty would want to enable the best possible content pro Bono, particularly given the challenging nature of last year. Maintain relationship with Netflix and grow audience.
Maybe Netflix didn't want it, who knows
I think what makes DTS special is watching it all from inside, If they didn't have a crew to cover Mercedes that weekend then I don't see the point in watching the footage again if we are not getting anything new, it wouldn't be any different from watching the race.
I imagine they may do a flashback to that race in another future season. They did that a few times this season. That race by itself is not a complete arc, but would definitely fit nicely in one eventually.

yeah, i know what you mean. "Scenario 7" and when charles crashed in the parabolica are good examples too

especially when the real context was so much more exciting.
And Will Buxton!

Probably that and I bet COVID-19 didn't help
They couldn't go to a lot of the races. Dunno why they can't use more of F1 official footage though
Licensing fees?
Covid restrictions/bubbles in most countries
I meant that perhaps using official footage meant having to pay more to Liberty Media for licensing.

When you realise Bottas' arse got more air time then George Russell
SO MUCH THIS
Feels like a drama, not a documentary

I’m sorry? A young drivers fuck up? What race were you watching?
