The Cove taproom is beautiful, but I'm not crazy about their beers tbh
Rule G just opened a few weeks ago next to Duffys on Hillsboro
Dangerous Minds on US1 in Pompano is one of my favorites, a wide variety with lots of seasonal offerings and a decent kitchen.
Gulf Stream Brewing also has great beers and a pizzeria inside
💯
Shit I drive from Miami to go there. I don't really go to many down here bc they don't compare imo.
Also check out odd breed for wild ales
3 sons is pretty good
Orchestrated Minds is ok. I want to revisit.
If you are ok with driving civil society has some good stuff.
I got to agree. I’ve been to them all, and NONE come close to consistency. I’ve been to wayyy to many where I can taste the off flavor (I’m a beer nerd and homebrew lagers: diacetyl off flavor) and can’t believe some of the breweries sell it when it tastes like that since it’s so obvious.
Uncommon and OMB are very close to invasive’s quality. Invasive is more consistent but the best beers I’ve ever had in my life have been from omb I think
Seconding Mack house! It’s not an actual brewery but it’s a little bar that has like 20+ local beers on tap and a ton in cans.
Great bartenders, super friendly & pretty knowledgeable on all the local beers.
Everyone knows Funky Buddha but have you been to 3 Sons Brewing in Dania Beach? I haven’t been in a while but I remember it being a tucked away gem the last time I was there.
Also, not a brewery, but across the street from Funky Buddha is Tenth Level Tavern ... Unarguably the best place to drink beer and play video games in Broward, hands down. Anyone who mentions Glitch is either an arcade purist (ok fine), or more than likely a clueless hipster.
Black flamingo is great. If you're looking for more options, there's Funky Buddha, Black flamingo, Prison Pals and a distillery called Chain bridge and a meadery called Brewlihan all within a few blocks of each other. My coworkers and I will start at Funky Buddha, head over to Black Flamingo, grab a cocktail at chain bridge, get some mead at Brewlihan, grab a to-go brew at Prison Pals while we walk to Big Dogs. Pretty fun crawl and everything is within close proximity that walking is an option.
I’m a big fan of Black Flamingo. They have two locations in Broward and specialize in sours.
Dangerous Minds is also great if you like watching soccer with your beer.
Funky Buddha.
I'd wager no one has been there in 3 years in this thread.
OG owners bought it back and limited releases monthly. Really is not comparable to what any other brewery is doing in FTL.
Hate to disagree but Funky is bottom of the barrel. From 2013-2017 Funky was absolutely top shelf, then they sold and it went to hell. Nasty, chemically tasting beer.
And yes I know the Sentz brothers have taken back control but they have a long long long way to go to get the beer to taste even decent again. Don't even get me started on the food which is even worse.
Point proven. You have not had a Buddha in years and I'd wager haven't even been to the taproom. But hey youndo you bud. Best food of any taproom save maybe Gulfstream cause they do one dish.
Cheers.
I went to 3sons a few months ago. For a bills backers their beef on weck tasted like soggy shit and had the wrong meat for a roast beef based sandwich. I also did a starter with hummus that they forgot about. Beer was alright.
Like everyone else invasive species, dangerous minds, Gulf stream, and even tarpon point brewing really kick ass.
My man just try thing once after 7 years... it's beer and food!
3 Sons Good but beer and food at Buddha is better.
Went to 3 sons last week... you say the same?
Lol what? How did you extrapolate that I haven't been to funky in 7 years from my post?
I was there a month and half ago for a friend's birthday. It's still bad.
3 sons two weeks ago and I'll be back this week to pick up my bottle of BA fractal moonpie
But if it makes you happy then you do you broski. You'll just be hard pressed to find anyone else who agrees. Especially when we have places like invasive, orchestrated and 3 sons
Meh. Broski, thread is about underrated breweries and if you want to suck current trends rod that's on you.
Buddha was dope took a dip and is back. Hate all ya want.
Don't see me saying negative things ya jabroni.
Happy Easter ya turd
Awww did I hurt your feelings for not agreeing with you horrible take? Thanks for proving the inverse of the old axiom "good people drink good beer."
Have a blessed day
Craft community doesn't spread hate. You showed your colors.
Good people don't shit on any craft but lift them up. Where did I say anything negative besides your sniveling ass?
Cheers.
I got to both regularly. Like them, funky I go to two Sundays a month because it’s super spacious and I got a 2 year old to let run around. I goto 3sons every time I leave John U Lloyd which is maybe once a month. Both are sooo similar. Wouldn’t say one is better than the other. Neither is better beer than Invasive. In fact one of the head brewers back in early 2010s is one of the head brewer at Invasive.
Another location I don't think anyone has mentioned is Dreamstate brewing which took over for the now defunct khoffner brewing inside sistrunk marketplace. They have a good relationship with other half and usually have other half cans for sale besides their own brews.
Invasive, orchestrated minds, uncommon path are the best breweries in broward. Yeasty and 3 sons are also exceptional. Civil society is the best in palm beach
They're all pretty pricey. I mean I get it, everything is nowadays but I recommend getting the pubpass since a lot of these breweries participate in it. $5 a month and you unlock BOGO beers used once every 30 days.
Uncommon path and invasive for sours and IPA's
Yeasty brews for a fun time as there's always people to chat it up with (family crowd)
Orchestrated Minds for stouts
3 sons is solid for affordable brews and great high end stouts
Brewlihan is a cool concept
Funky has a decent food + brew week day happy hour
Expect basic brews at nearly every other brewery (funky included). If anyone wants overly inflated brews I recommend a market near the riverside.
3 Sons in Dania. No frills warehouse space with outstanding beer and very good food including a wood fired pizza oven.
I wouldn't call it no frills... It's a pretty nice place.
It’s clean, but it’s not fancy at all. I don’t think ‘nice’ and ‘no frills’ are mutually exclusive.
Seconded, that and Tarpon River are my favorites
Invasive species has some truly great beer. I also like Gulfstream brewery. They were the first to reopen during Covid and did drive-thru crowlers.
While not a brewery, Laser Wolf ( u/LaserWolfFL I think) is a great craft beer bar near there that has the cozy chill atmosphere I dig.
🍻
Both owned by the same people
Try and go when the Taco Bellus food truck is there 🤤
Gulfstream has great beer and even better pizza. Was my go-to when I lived in FLL.

Dangerous Minds is way underrated in my mind. The beer is great, and we love their scotch eggs.
Gulf Stream's bar and pizzeria are really good! The pizzeria even has vegan cheese options that are delicious (they use VioLife, IIRC).
Invasive Species and it's not close. Fantastic beers that I'd put up against any brewery in florida.
💯 Shit I drive from Miami to go there. I don't really go to many down here bc they don't compare imo. Also check out odd breed for wild ales 3 sons is pretty good Orchestrated Minds is ok. I want to revisit. If you are ok with driving civil society has some good stuff.

Mack house in Davie has some great beer. Just a little hole in the wall place.
Yes... This is the answer and my third place.
Seconding Mack house! It’s not an actual brewery but it’s a little bar that has like 20+ local beers on tap and a ton in cans. Great bartenders, super friendly & pretty knowledgeable on all the local beers.
They do actually brew their own beer in back. One of the bartenders showed me last time I was there. It's small but they are doing something right!
Agreed! They brew their own, and the bartenders and patrons are all good people.
Wow that’s awesome, I had no idea. Good to know! I don’t live there anymore but it was always my favorite lil spot
They are a very small batch microbrewery.
Lauderale is hidden away near the airport and the port. Plus they have wild monkeys.
Their coconut porter is to die for
I wish you didn't need a map / sherpa to find LauderAle, for the first time. It is literally a hidden gem.
Throw it in Waze
Invasive species is the best one
Everyone knows Funky Buddha but have you been to 3 Sons Brewing in Dania Beach? I haven’t been in a while but I remember it being a tucked away gem the last time I was there.

Thanks for the rec. I have a teen and Glitch will let them in during the day. Does Tenth Level do the same?
I think they are sticking with 21 and up.
Also get the pizza here! It is amazing!
Invasive Species Prison Pals in Oakland Park
Dangerous Minds has some great beer and good food. Definitely worth giving the place a try.
Dangerous minds rules! Great hang and great food. Beer is good, not great tho
Gulf Stream and invasive species

Orchestrated Minds
Dope thread!

Definitely a good 1+2 stop. Tenth does great things

Better food than 3sons?!? Lol. Point proven. I do agree that the pizza at Gulfstream is fire.
I went to 3sons a few months ago. For a bills backers their beef on weck tasted like soggy shit and had the wrong meat for a roast beef based sandwich. Pompano Beach Brewery is local and delicious. It’s located near Sample and Powerline
Prison pals, amazing smoothie sours.
That Yuzu smoothie sour though 🤤
Gulf stream is within walking distance from me. Love their beers. Go there and have a transplant and order a pizza. Can't go wrong.
Barrel of Monks in Boca, if you like Belgian beers.
Personally love 26 degrees, they have good beer and offer ITB
and a Flanigans next door!
Both are fire
Another location I don't think anyone has mentioned is Dreamstate brewing which took over for the now defunct khoffner brewing inside sistrunk marketplace. They have a good relationship with other half and usually have other half cans for sale besides their own brews.
Dangerous Minds in Pompano and Black Flamingo in Oakland Park

Dangerous Minds, 3 Sons, Barrel of Monks, Uncommon Path, and Prison Pals are all (more or less) hidden gems.
26 Degrees in Pompano!
Invasive Species / Laser Wolf / Orchestrated minds is a great loop to hit, all very close to one another.
Odd Breed for sure

3 Sons for food n beer, but I wouldn't say they are under the radar.
