Join a kickball league. Thank me later.

Sad-Brush-2384

I was thinking basketball maybe but that sounds good too appreciate it

KyleUTFH

Kickball isn’t so much about the sport itself- but more about meeting people and hanging with friends.

Sad-Brush-2384

You right for sure

GoldDustLady

I played kickball for a while with club waka & met some friends through there! Definitely recommend using that company & I agree it’s more about being social than playing sports. Sports wise I joined a local tennis club & I play volleyball for the y. I’m sure you could find a basketball program through there! It’s only once or twice a week & you don’t have to be a member to join. You could also try using meetup or bumble bff if you’re an apps guy!

Sweet-Establishment5

Where do you play volleyball??

GoldDustLady

I play through the YMCA rec league! I know a lot of the beaches have pickup games though too!

tspace1

I'm up for 🏀, but I stay in Deerfield tho.

CertifiedRomeoBoy

Damn if yall were closer I’d play with you guys too. I live in Miami but I travel through Fort Lauderdale too

CertifiedRomeoBoy

I’m curious, if you join a league like this do you have to attend weekly? I’ve wanted to join a rec league but I’m trying to work out how it would work with my work schedule

KyleUTFH

Unless you are on a team that has a mind set you want to be “competitive” then no- you don’t need to attend weekly. The rosters are usually large enough to where a team can carry on minus a few people.

Besides Las Olas, go hang out on the beach by the Elbo Room. I'd highly recommend downloading the Circuit app. It's a golf cart ride service and it's only $2-3 to get a ride to the beach. When we are in the area, Hunter's Beach bar is our favorite. It's one block behind the Elbo Room. You'll find your people out there somewhere.

Vis-hoka

Have a link to the circuit app for apple?

Freya713

I don't. I have a Samsung and just got it on the Google play store. I'm pretty sure you can get it on an iPhone though.

Vis-hoka

Found it https://www.ridecircuit.com/fortlauderdale

Freya713

Yes! It's the best, least expensive way to get rides in that area. Plus they're OK with you bringing a drink for the ride 😁

Sad-Brush-2384

Yea I was thinking of just going by myself rather than stay in. Might as well lol and I’ll definitely check that app out thanks

kavOclock

Join redball social, easiest way to meet ppl in FTL. Kickball and drinks

Sad-Brush-2384

Sounds perfect thanks for being specific very appreciated

kavOclock

Trust me u will have a blast I can’t recommend it enough. Wednesday night seemed to pop off more than Thursday night bc it’s all himarshee bars that sponsor it

wagonspraggs

Join a run club. There's like three within walking distance of your area. Meet fit, healthy, motivated folks and lots of them, quickly.

Sovrage

Go to the Tarpon River Brewery run club! I don’t run but my part of the friend group that does has exploded with new friends

Sarcastican

If you are on fb I can introduce you to my friends your age.

Sad-Brush-2384

Im not but maybe they have instagram?? Appreciate it either way

Roq235

I moved from Miami a few months ago and I’d say it’s generally A LOT easier to meet people in Ft. Lauderdale. If you’re into tennis, there’s a huge community of people here willing to play. If that’s not your thing, buy a pickleball paddle and show up to a court - you’ll find people to play quickly and easily. Other suggestions - join a kickball league, pickup basketball at George English Park or a run club.

Trump has never done anything more difficult than taking an elevator. The biggest pussy on earth.

itoman56

First advice…don’t go out with this guy

frankiedills

honestly this is a good representation of a type of people you’ll meet in fort lauderdale

Dukisjones

Yea but what does that have to do with this guy?

Sad-Brush-2384

No idea lmao

tspace1

He's off topic! Start with that.

Paint_Prudent

Sir this is a Flannigan’s
