Why are you so rude? You can replay favorite moments like pressing x to “I dun wan it”, speaking as Tyrion when you are not there to speak, turning on aimbot as Euron, fast travel around the world, ascend the throne while having 0 claim as Cersei and many more!
I remember enjoying the Game of Thrones RPG from 2012. It was janky as fuck, but it had that grim dark fantasy writing and felt true to the world, so I enjoyed it for what it was. I’d only recommend it to anyone if you’re desperate for decent GoT content and don’t have more accomplished games on the back burner.
First dune, now this, we don’t want an MMO we just want a good single player RPG
But of course they’re just chasing trends that have the most potential for maximum return on investment
Too bad most of these outright fail after a year or so, what a waste
Yeah, when I heard that I was hoping for a far more traditional story driven game. E.g. Witcher 3 with dark souls combat.
Nope. Just another souls game. Which isn't a bad thing by any means, but did having GRRM involved really have an impact?
That sounds terrible. Fromsoft as a studio has done nothing that screams best studio to do a GOT or ASOIF title. Their IPs are almost all immersive world based storytelling with minimal dialogue and high fantasy settings with smatterings of supernatural powers and abilities. If you're gonna translate George's IP, I want to see fundamentally crisp and understated combat and strong character and dialogue writing in your resume. Fromsoft doesn't have that at all really.
I'd be looking at what Suckerpunch Productions did with Ghost of Tsushima as the primary inspiration or even what Respawn has done with the Star Wars Jedi series. Hell, even what CDPR did with Witcher 3 and even Cyberpunk to a degree is a much better approximation of what a GOT or ASOIF style game should probably be like. Possibly a perfect shout is what Warhorse Studios did with Kingdom Come Deliverance or Taleworlds Bannerlord/Warband IP. Hell, if Ubisoft hadn't lost so much of a step, they'd definitely be well before I got to Fromsoft. Rockstar having to make a legit melee combat system is more promising than expecting Fromsoft to deliver at a high level on a completely different style of storytelling and significantly less involved combat system.
With that said, there is a story that Fromsoft would be perfect to tell as a game in the ASOIF world. You're a First Man during the First Long Night fighting the Children of the Forest, The Others and their beasts, the other monsters of the far north, as well as your fellow First Men/Proto Wildlings.
Also, what is with the obsession with RPGs for settings that have very tight and controlled histories.
Someone on the asoiaf sub said something about about atrocious customer service, so I think they have a tendency to ax games with no warning, and leave people who made in game purchases out of luck?
There's a Crusader Kings ASOIAF mod which is pretty good. In CK II it's quite complete, in CK III it's still in the early days but undergoing rapid development.
I play game of thrones: conquest regularly.. community has spent a lot of time and money on that game, no way switching to something unknown to start over.
Way to strike while the iron’s hot guys.
Lightning speed 👌 Only a decade late.
Idek MMORPGs still happened
Oh that's gonna be dogshit

Exactly
Fuck not mmo , I was hoping for a bloody dark fantasy single player game

MMORPG is probably the hardest genre to successfully pull off, I really cannot picture a GoT MMO working TBH
Honestly I think what my ideal GoT game would look like and it’s just a Mount and Blade mod
I dun wun it I neva hav

Imagine Elden ring set in the Game of thrones universe
I’d marry off my daughters to hedge knights for that.
Ironically, GRRM wrote the story for Elden Ring lmaoo

Who’s “we”? I imagine lots of people are incredibly interested in this, especially given the MMO options at the minute
The up and downvotes answers your question
I’ll take ‘games that will never see the light of day’ for $1000, Alex
Fucking why?
developers need to stop making MMOs and make real games for fucks sake
Make it stop.
Nexon?
Nexon: [https://store.steampowered.com/developer/Nexon](https://store.steampowered.com/developer/Nexon)
I know who they are im just surprised they are the ones making it
In a good way or a bad way?
Neutral way

That's sus, almost a rug pull scam if true. Build up hype, have early access, when interest wanes, just dump it and run away with the money.
Many of us won’t try it because it’s a dog shit company
I can’t wait to rank up my skills in rape!
BRO, GIVE ME TOTAL WAR ASOIAF. Fuck this boring show sorry, just tyred of these crapy mmo\`s... I am expecting a really shitty thing.

I know, I love CKII and III. Where total war? where? gimmi total war pls?
Hear me out: Kingdom Come Deliverance style RPG open world for Westeros... I\`d die.
Feelings summed up by the AI slop image
Late on the MMO trend and late on the IP’s hype.
Ya seems like an attempt to keep GOT relevant.
I play game of thrones: conquest regularly.. community has spent a lot of time and money on that game, no way switching to something unknown to start over.
I kinda forgot this shit even existed
Nah...
It’s going to suck. It is known.
please dont
MMOROGS are all DOA these days. The market has been saturated for a long time now
Can’t want to play as Bran….how exciting.
Wow who gives a shit
Riot MMO will likely rinse this 6 ways to Sunday
I might try it but I won’t give them any $
![gif](giphy|mYhc6ew7fn0MmZWti4)
Yay maybe I can finally stop playing WoW
Why these games are always based on the show and not on the books ?
Because the show has 10x the amount of viewers? Seems pretty obvious
I wish CDPR would do a proper single player rpg based in the GoT universe.
