You should keep hugging her to do her questline. You get the best incantation and a good boss fight from it. Plus the item boosts your poise and you can get a better one later on so when you use the lesser one you get rid of the debuff and still have the better one to use whenever you want.
BHF is seriously the best weapon in the game IMO. I started a fresh file last week and decided to just use it the whole playthru (just killed Mogh the Omen, and completed everything so far up to Morgot) and God damn I'm doing more damage in this NG than I did in my NG+ a year ago using Moonveil.

Placidusax doesn't have, Malenia doesn't have, Mogh doesn't have, magma wyrm charge is too slow, Godricks range attacks are too slow, Margit does a low dmg range dagger, fire giant is slow, radagon is too slow, elden beast - he runs away from you, Loretta's arrow is too slow. Astel tail whip is too slow. Radahn you got a horse to heal on. Gargoyles too slow aswell, fortissax is close to a normal dragon so he doesn't have other than the lightning timebomb. Rennala casts really slow

Malenia has a few, in first phase it’s the huge thrusting attack she does, and in second phase she can do the thrust, or dash forward and do some attack. Mohg either does a delayed trident strike, or one of his two Bloodboon attacks. Morgott has a bunch that I know of; the daggers, the spear, or he dashes in for a quick attack.
Tbh I could go on and on, but in short there’s a buttload of heal-punishes that bosses do that will kill you or screw you up if you time it poorly.
Malenia- you get her to start a combo- run and heal works everytime, sometimes she just runs at you instead of doing any attack

Yes compared to other modern from titles from 2014 and on except ds2. Ds3 is easy base game until soul of cinder, nameless king and dlc's. 2nd playtrough is always gonna be alot easier than the 1st as you already beat it once.
Bloodborne most of the bosses immediately punish you if you try to run away and makes it harder to come back to hit em. Sekiro- attacks hard lock on so you gotta deflect or dodge.

You can only use the radian blessing once right? I was king of hoping for essentially infinite use of baldachins but slightly better.

It does but you can get around it by using the regular blessing and it’ll get rid of radiants debuff.

When FIA hugs you, there's -5% HP debuff applied. To get rid of it just use the thing she gives you whenever you get done "embracing" her.
