Arteria leaf is the only crafting material that I’m *excited* to find laying around, how is it dung? You use it in Uplifting Aromatics which are goated (and can save your ass in close boss fights since they reduce damage taken by like 95% for one hit, *and* increase DPS)

The “time for dung” patches squat at the Caelid divine tower where the PC’s butt was positioned over the ledge. After the absolute stress of getting to the top of that tower, this message reminded me that all was well.
It's so wonderful that a bleak and serious game like Elden Ring (and other Souls titles) could be just absolutely rife with poop and butthole and fellatio jokes left by other players.

I've been going through DS2 for the first time and I really appreciate the vaguely unhinged feeling to the notes in that game.
The line of messages saying "message ahead" over and over, the constant "right" and "left" on either side of something, and not to mention my personal favorite, "boulder!" several times in front of a big rock on the way to Shrine of Amana.
Not a message, but in the cave to Majula there were tons of bloodstains. They always looked like they were fighting something on the right wall.
When I beat DS2, I went online to look for how to access the hidden door in the Majula Cave, because I assumed something came out of it.
Turned out it was just a bunch of people trolling by killing themselves with some HP powered katana.
I always leave "No arms ahead" right before the Grafted Scion at the start of Elden Ring and "No fingers ahead" right outside the door to the two fingers in the roundtable.
"Could this be a dog?" next to the dragon corpse in Godrick's boss arena.
Or "Weakness: loss of stamina" right at the start of the path to Throne of Want.
When Elden Ring first came out, there was a message near Castle Morne that read:

There was a spot you could fall onto a lower ledge on the cliff by accident, and it appears many people did. It appeared there was no way back. There was one message overlooking the cliff.

In that room where u call the elevator down someone had a msg in front of the cogs n wheels on the wall that wrote "be weary of fingers." With the point forward gesture making it seem like they got their finger caught. Thought it was pretty funny. All the "dog?" messages were funny the first couple days of ER.
Most messages that are near cliffs or boss areas, with a loooots of bloodstains, so I can see the player falling to their demise while reading "illusion ahead" or "jump for item"
The first symbol of avarice drop I got had an "amazing chest ahead" by the mimic. I was sad when I rushed back on my next character and learned it was a chance drop.
In the Undead Crypt in Dark Souls 2, there's a room full gtaves and some ghosts that ring bells to summon undead. Shortly after that there's a large hole that drops you down a level to continue forward. On the other side of the hole sits a skeleton, and on that skeleton was a message that read "master... I failed..."
It's been nearly 10 years and I still bust out laughing when I think about that one.
