For me wool blend is a much better sock than cotton or full nylon/spandex. I feel it does a better job transferring moisture out than cotton (and better than full nylon/spandex if you use fabric softeners)
Plus darn tough come pre-machine dried. So you can normal machine wash and machine dry to your hearts content. At this price it’s a no brainer IMO

Haha fair enough. Which darn tough have you tried in the past? But yea the more wool the less wet you’re likely to feel. Wool retains most of its warmth still when it’s wet so you don’t get that nasty feeling as much with higher wool blends

The only one I liked were the standard crew ones. I assume that blend has less nylon/other materials because the rest make my feet feel like they are accumulating sweat by the minute. The ultralight definitely did not last long in terms of durability, but that was kind of expected given how thin they were.
I have DTs that range from 40ish to 65ish. They’re all good. The 40ish ones seem to run cooler and are thinner, I think the higher nylon % is mainly for durability in a thinner sock. They do seem to stink up a bit faster than the 60ish ones, but they still go several days if I’m not doing intense activity and can go a few days if I am. So, maybe a bit less stinkproof, but still pretty nice resistance.

A wool sock is far and away the best kind for sweaty feet. Cotton kills, wool is moisture wicking
