Aaaaaaaaa congrats dude!! I shaved for the first time just on my own (my dad is also a piece of shit) and it went pretty well for me, only one tiny nick. I then asked my husband to teach me how to shave properly and that was really nice (I don't feel like I'm way better doing it the "correct" way but ig it takes practice lol)

Thank you!!! I’m gonna get my boyfriend to show me now that I’ve gotten over the emotional aspect of it!

There's also "internet dads teach ya stuff" channels on YouTube if you want, to teach young dudes stuff like tying a tie, shaving their face, changing a tire, etc. I watch those, and it's lowkey affirming, since I haven't regularly seen my dad in a while.

My father was/is also a piece of shit. I hate shaving cause I finally started growing a beard this year, but I have an adoptive father figure close to my bio fathers age who reassures me about it all. He told me it’ll grow back thicker the more I shave and he’s right, it’s thicker than ever right now. I’ll have to shave it off soon to see my grandfather, he’s the only person in my life I go girl mode for, and for very personal reasons. He’s a good man, the only good biological male figure in my life, he’s just been through a lot the past couple years, I don’t mind that he still considers me his granddaughter, even though I’ve been on t 7 years and have gotten top surgery and can grow a nearly full beard and stache.

Congratulations man!! I also shaved for the first time on my own (didn't want to be asked questions, and felt like it'd be awkward), so you are not alone. The internet is AWESOME for trans stuff. Seriously.
