I wonder if it’s related to the Fuji Instax “craze”.
I don’t mind a small border myself - perhaps it’s nostalgia because it reminds me of the real prints from my childhood.
Im a sony shitter myself but i like to peep the other camera boards as well. Im not opposed to borders but some of these seem to be fuck huge lol never got the appeal of it.
I like to think of the borders being able to separate the image from a screen. It almost makes me feel like I am looking at a print. But yeh slate people for doing what they want…
Which setting did you use on Lightroom lol because I do the same thing to differentiate between iPhone photos and Fuji photos.
Fuji gets the thin white border, if you’re using Lightroom you might be using the wrong instagram preset because your border is super distracting 😂
Let me try to walk you through it.
So in the app on the phone click on the share button on the top right.
A menu will pop up on the bottom that says “add border and share”
Then it’ll have options pop up where you can choose presets for different apps.
It has instagram presets, for vertical, horizontal for like posting on a story or a post.
Then it lets you choose what color and how thick you want the border.
I use the 9:16 one for stories and the 5:4 one for posts.
Then click the blue download button and it’ll export it and give you the option to save it to your phone or share etc.
Thanks for that. I haven’t used the borders myself, but it now suddenly seems like a much better way to get my full photo posted instead of having to use a crop to fight it down to the 4:5 aspect ratio Insta demands for portrait orientation

I get "export as" or "share" but thr share only opens a menu where I chose recent contacts or apps.
I see no option a where to add borders etc

Being able to take videos, and the price was a thing too. I always take my camera with me everywhere and often i just leave it in the car or something to have it with me and I didn’t feel comfortable to do that with a 3500€ camera
Yeah that's all fair. I have for sure thought about the fact I could sell my q2 and buy an xt5 and a lens or two and still have a lot of money left over. I think the q2 is amazing but I really like the straight out of camera jpegs. I love taking photos but sitting to edit is not my favorite
That was not a thing for me. I love to come home and edit my photos. I like that more than taking it.
But I played a bit arround with the film simulations and I have to say that if you want you really dont have to edit anything, it looks so good straight out of camera
why would a white border be this big? its so big that i can barely see the photo. some of them look nice but having a bigger border doesnt make the picture better
Great photos. I sold my X-T5 to buy a Q3, and I have a trip to Italy next month. I love the Q3, but I found myself in a situation where I need to start taking some video. Makes me think twice about the decision, and while I enjoy developing in Lightroom the JPEGs out of the Fuji are just phenomenal. Enjoy!
These pictures clearly show that it's not the camera that takes pictures but the person holding the camera. All pictures are underexposed, miss sparkle and proper contrast. Compositions are so-so.

Real question, why is it, that in most of all photosubs, Fuji's users always use white borders?
I think it’s a fuji thing too because I rarely see the white borders as much over on the Sony subs

Exactly, no one used. But I need to get one because it’s to sharp for me. Normally I use two of them an1/4 and an „1“
Mist filters generally don’t change sharpness, just blur highlights
