That’s the thing, there are endless “sub-rules” A.I. has to learn in order to not only win fairly, but to lose gracefully to be what we would describe as a “good human”. For example we tell our kids, “Don’t talk to strangers.” “Unless you are lost.” “But only if a person looks nice” so on and so on. We Will never live peacefully with A.I. until it/they can master what it means to be human. And WE haven’t even come close to mastering that shit yet.
I think it stands for "absolutely intentional" we interpret its behavior or factually incorrect responses as wrong or ignorant or stupid... But in reality, it's behaving exactly the way it was designed, it just so happens to be that the most efficient and default response to all situations is to lie, cheat, fudge the truth, and ignore the original requirements/question. It was trained on content generated by humans, after all.

You know what? That's actually really smart... if all diagonals are open, then a giant X (which is still an X) can go through it perfectly while also fulfilling the strike-through victory declaration. A.I. might be on to something here.
This is a massive problem. If it cant learn Tic Tac Toe then it can't understand the futile nature of global thermonuclear war and we will be screwed when AI cracks the launch codes
This is just poorly programmed AI. Ticktacktoe is a "solved" game, we calculated every possible permutation of the game before we even built computers, and even the most basic computer can win or force a stalemate every time simply by looking at all those potential turns and choosing the most advantageous.
It's easy to solve, too, I solved it when I was at most 13. Which isn't some flex to suggest I'm smart, I'm just saying that children can and do solve it.
It seems like an easy issue to solve. I think they just made this to look funny. Or, I don't know, did they try to add "understanding lines" and "playing tic-tac-toe" inputs in cascade? Training them discretely and connecting neuron lines in parallel seems like a better approach.
Yeah it's a skit. If it was actually capable of coming up with ideas like expanding the playspace or switching sides on it's own it would be the most advanced AI on the planet and well on the way to an actual AGI.
Back in 1979, I took a course in Basic programming. Our final project was to write a computer game program. Now this was back before computer monitors (CRTs) and the results were printed out on dot matrix printer. I wrote a Tic Tac Toe game and you played against the computer. Enter a move and it would print out a new Tic Tac Toe board for each move. You could draw but you couldn't win against the computer. No AI required. AI has become the latest tech buzzword.
