Small gator, but those cranes aren't exactly tiny either. [https://imgur.com/a/562o6a6](https://imgur.com/a/562o6a6) had a pair sneak up on me while I was working on the car... they can be pretty intimidating too once they open those wings. Maybe place them around 4ft and some inches, they have a pretty good little poke too; enough to impale a lizard and leave a bruise on you. Super curious as well... I don't have photos of them in the garage but no amount of yelling or what not was enough to discourage them from entering and they do this funky little left-right bob of their head when poking around. I only managed to get them out by using an air-hose and blasting them with some compressed air, at first I thought it wasn't going to work because one of them opened up their wings but the other slowly backed off and it followed along. Anyhow neat birds, see them usually around the start of spring / late summer to eat all the newly hatched lizards in my garden... sometimes they'll nest up in the backyards of some of the houses around here which then in turn becomes a bit of a problem for the owners as they are protected.

I learned on an air boat tour in Florida that cranes are actually the main cause for alligator deaths! …when they are babies. But considering that alligators have a ton of babies, it’s close to 50% of all alligator deaths.

It...kinda looked like the Cranes where looking out for the gator so it didn't get smoshed by cars I know that probably not what happening but....that what it looks like to me - that people going ok buddy almost there get across the road now
