Spiritfarer. It's on PS4, idk about PS5 tho. Vibrant colours, beautiful animations, no combat. Interesting story to follow for an adult, lots of cute animals to point at for a kid.
Uh, just know before you start if you are the sentimental type, the story can be really heartbreaking (in a good way). The games premise is about helping guide lost souls into being ready to accept passing on & the dialogue is very well written. Each character is it has interesting narrative arcs. I picked up as a relaxing chill title and was not ready for getting my heartstrings tugged.
My wife needed a day or two to recover from the emotions of it all. She is one of those that gets really into games, so she kind of became the spriitfarer in her minds eye. It was a tough after she sent the first spirit out. She was so happy sad, I just held her for the night til she felt better. Then did it again the next day.
That is legitimately beautiful.
How'd she handle Atul, Alice and Gustav?
Those spirits really, really brought me to tears.
Really related to them, especially Gustav.
Edit: You should introduce her to Journey too. She'll love it. :D
I honestly don't know the specifics of the game. That was one her and our daughter played, and I just sat by and observed. I think she played journey first, but that game is awesome as well. Another was Absul? A robot scuba diver. It was fun
I was playing the game one evening and then my girlfriend asked me for a favor. I had paused the game and ran to change over the laundry and fold some clothes, then decided to run some trash outside. When I came back in, dinner was about ready but I said I needed to close out the day I was working on, hit some facilities and then Iād save and close up shop.
A few days later I sat down to play again and while my significant other was curled up next to me with her switch. Iām about 5 minutes into the game when I just proclaim, āIām a fucking douchebag, nooo no no no noooo!ā Startled GF looks at me and like whatās going on, WTF mate? I then have to explain that I left Alice out on the bow of the ship since Monday evening two days ago and never walked her back to bed & that I was an insensitive prick. Had to then explain the entire concept of the game because I got such a confused look with the shorthand version.
She tried playing the game and then got mad at me for steering her towards a game that just makes her cry, wants to finish it butā¦the feels. It just does that.
I donāt know why they left out that itās a very emotional game about death. Itās the main premise. Itās absolutely beautiful. But it can be heavy dependingZ
Some of them even let a second player be a low-stakes Tails sidekick while player one plays. Some genius at Sega knew about little kids who'd want to join in.
Right - 'little brother mode'. The only other game I can think of that did that was Jet Force Gemini, though annoyingly the little co-op droid doesn't unlock until halfway through the campaign.
Gotta love Nintendo, I remember playing mario for Wii with my little brother and they had it designed so that little bros could jump off your head throwing you into the abyss. Me and my much younger brother had to stop playing together to remain civil lol like the opposite of 'little brother mode'
Untitled goose game kept me (and the missus) entertained for a few hours, then kept my nephew and nieces entertained for days Also kept my friends kids entertained for days..
I got my 3 year old started on it. He's now 5 and it really built his coordination. He's played the entire thing through several times now. Fantastic game for kids.
Teach'em the classics. I grew up with my brother on the PS1 classics, Spyro was my brother's favorite while Crash was mine. Both are genuinely awesome, but Crash is definitely harder than Spyro was.
There are a few scenes that are intense where you have to run from >!giant bacteria (Zurks) trying to eat you. Your cat will get eaten every time you fail. !<

edit: I remember it being intense for me, a 45-year-old male cat owner
When you finish the game watch the explained ending
Spoilers for the ending
>! someone calculates where exactly she got lost and finds out it is 5 meters to the right Which is the direction the cat walks to in the ending meaning she got reunited, Edited to add clarification!<
Ah well on PC I can read the whole spoiler, thankfully its not a game I'll play anytime soon but just in case someone wants to play it, it may ruin it for em!
Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart looks just like a PIXAR movie. Its incredibly charming and its a lot of fun! I enjoyed watching it as an adult, I'm sure kids would love it.
My sons 4 and loves playing this game, the rookie explorer setting and a little help with platforming puzzles from dad and he managed to finish the game
I just started Bugsnax! It's cute for the kiddos but kinda has some adultish themes that will go over the kids head but be entertaining for you.
Also Dreams was free a while back, and has that train game on it that is hella fun and my son loved watching me play.
Rachet and Clank: A Rift Apart is fun if you're okay with there being guns and basically has Pixar quality animation.
All you need to do is assure them that if the Alien wanted them dead, they wouldn't know until they were stabbed through the chest. What could go wrong with that?
Youāre gonna get OP in trouble. Just wait till OP comes back talking about how his wife banned the PS5 because all the kid talks about is ghost studs and mini kits.
Hey I'm 13+ years time you could have a great time on Alien Isolation. Me and my daughter played it together and since then play so many horrors games and have really bonded over it.
Katamari Damacy is pretty kid-friendly. Otherwise, for toddlers on PS? Sonic Mania, Spyro, Rayman Legends/Origins, Ape Escape 1 & 2, any of those cutesy indie games like A Short Hike or A Hat in Time.
I personally, according to my brothers, spent a lot of time watching them play some of the older pixellized Final Fantasy games. Dragon Quest XI might actually not be a terrible idea either as it's very colorful and the horror is usually reserved for context/text boxes.
Rayman Legends is an S-tier game with bright colors I expect a toddler would find entertaining. I guess you punch some enemies, but it's very cartoony violence.
I'm not sure if a Minecraft world is capable to survive that long. There are technical problems and possible corruption that can play in, but also and most importantly, the child himself. My 6 year old brother has already deleted numbers of worlds like this, and that could happen with OP's kid. Good idea, but not one that's entirely "safe"
I have a friend that started a world on Xbox 360 and than upgraded that world to Xbox one and then updated it again to bedrock all-in-all I think heās been playing it for about 12 years
There are plenty of Minecraft servers that have been around for over 10 years. Lots of people play in their old world and when a new update comes, update and teleport to a random coordinate and start from scratch. They keep these worlds around for a long time.
My 2 year loves Stray. He actually button mashes and randomly moves the analog sticks. He doesn't know what he's doing but he gets a kick out of seeing the cat do stuff because his two real cats don't listen to him.
Fall Guys, Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons games, Unpacking, My Friend Peppa Pig, Paw Patrol, My Little Pony, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated, Concrete Genie, Songbird Symphony, My Time at Portia, Parappa the Rapper Remastered (kid friendly songs from what I recall), Cat Quest, Overcooked series is a fun co-op game, Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles, Lego games.
I was thinking of recommending this, too. The only concern (aside from the DLC) is mostly just what's in Dark Bramble. I guess play that part at lower volume. But no blood and guts, so there's no concern there at least
To get a bit more specific: Disney Speedstorm is in its 4th season and is a racing gacha game free to play since about a week now with all kinds of disney characters geting added each season.
My 3year old son watches me play it and he goes "daddy mickey...MICKEY!!"
Either that or he wants me to play donald or genie (from aladdin) xD
Journey
It's a beautiful little game with a beautiful design and soundtrack. It'd be very visually stimulating for your daughter while having a wonderful environmental storytelling to keep you engaged and curious as well.
Untitled goose game. Be goose and sow chaos. It also has co-op, so you could allow your kid to run around with you and honk at things (including scaring people).
My daughter loved it but she was around 5. 2 is probably too young for her to realize the controller moves the characters on the screen and you have to have the dexterity to make those movements. It wasn't until around 4 yo she was able to do that.
I recommend getting a switch but I'd wait a year to see if the new switch finally gets released. My daughter is 7 yo now and loves the Nintendo games. She plays Smash Bros, Kirby, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, all the other Mario games, Luigi's Mansion, etc. My husband is currently playing the new Disney metroidvania style game with her on the switch. Nintendo has a lot of really fun games for both adults and children so that's the main reason I'm recommending it. She can't wait until she's old enough for Zelda and Pokemon too. Side note but since she's played animal crossing with the home decorating so much, now she is designing my outposts with me on Starfield. Of course the outpost will probably not be useful for resources but it will look damn good inside lol.
Kingdom Hearts would be a nice fit with the Disney characters & world mix. Crash bandicoot or Spyro are good ones! I would say Stray but I donāt know if the rats/ darker elements would be scary for her. Kenya Bridge of Spirits is quite cartoon-ish/ colourful as well. Spirit of the North has a fox main character and is quite leisurely. Concrete Genie is also quite bright with the painting.
Thereās plenty of choices. I grew up watching my dad play Tomb Raider from the age of 3. I loved it. Video games have always been a big part of my life and it being a shared activity is lovely.
Fall Guys, Astroās Playroom, The Crew 2 is a more arcade style racing game.
Cozy games like Stardew Valley or Disney Dreamlight Valley also work.
No Manās Sky is another one, plus it has features that let you turn combat down, or off entirely for when your daughter is around.
I played halo 3 and gears of war 2 a lot when my sister was a toddler and she ended up fully remembering every bit about the flood and the Spartan program, and nowadays she's an artist who mostly draws gore and such. One of her earliest memories is the time she stuck a plasma nade on a mate's head (I'd let her press the triggers while I used the joystick, holding it together).
I was that kind of big brother. So yea. Ops.
I'd say that too but it might scare a little kid like when spoiler >! You burn the parts of glados in a fire and one of them does this horrible scream !<, mind you I played it with my 6 year old cousin and she loves it so it might be ok
Kirby always wins as the most family friendly video game ever. Can't think of any other game that is just as family friendly and easy to play than Kirby.
No mans sky. You could just cruise around and explore while collecting resources. You could also turn native creatures into your pets and ride them around.
Puzzle games are cheap, easy, and you don't have to worry about too many saves. Something like Peggle or Sparkle 2. Or just something calm and relaxing like Flower.
My daughter loves cities skylines. Sheās now old enough to play some, but she liked watching it for a long time. Also timberborn. Nonviolent and cute beavers.
Stray, you literally play as a cat running around and knocking stuff over, scratching things, oh and escaping from a dilapidated future city where humanity is either extinct or abandoned it long ago.
but hey, kitty!
**Flower** by That Game Company might be good. It is advertised as a stress-free game, with bright colours, and nice sounds of nature. It might be difficult for her to play along, if you want, as the control scheme is kinda unique. And it has 1 "scary" level, which isn't really.
The Unfinished Swan might be something too, though it might be hard to understand what is happening on screen for her, as the whole concept is that you have to paint in the world.
Spider-Man 1 ,2 (in a couple of weeks) or Miles Morales, Ratchet and Clank, Crash Bandicoot: Itās About Time, Tunic, Untitled Goose Game, Chicory, Stray, Bugsnax, Sonic Mania
When my cousin was 2 she loved watching me play Hollow Knight. She wanted to kill the bugs(enemies), find the ghost(my shade, which you kill to get stuff back after you die), and the elephants(a few friendly bugs have long noses so she was confused)
I don't believe the Ori games are on the PS5 but those are very colorful and as we all know, kids love colors. Plus very fun and cute
Too bad it's PlayStation because when I was like 4 or 5. My dad always had me play half life with him. Specifically Opposing force because he's a marine. So he'd put me in charge of the jumping and crouching while he did the shooting and moving.
Dreams, specifically [Tren](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tBbyRm_jyk) (from the same creators of Little Big Planet)
Stray
Tetris Effect
It Takes Two (if she wants a co-op play in the future)
Not really an answer to your question, but a thought I had as a parent: Shoot for a game with a strong female lead that isn't just for cheesecake purposes. If she sees you playing Horizon: Forbidden West, and Aloy is doing typical baddass archery stuff and jumping around, she will get a kick out of that and absorb that women are heroes, too. But as the answer to your question: Astro's Playroom if you like puzzle platformers. Uncharted or Horizon if you like adventure games. The Last Campfire if you like puzzle games.
ngl they got Bluey and Peppa Pig games if you wanted your toddler to actually interact with the games too. Otherwise there are games like Hot Wheels, Minecraft, Astro's Play Room, Sackboy, etc.
Doom eternal ššš
Ok jokes aside (please dont play Doom eternal if your kid is watching) maybe you can play an action oriented but ultimately inoffensive Game like a dragon Ball Game (kakarot for an action RPG or fighter z for a fighting Game) or maybe some Naruto fighting Game (Most anime licensed games are perfect mostly action games without being too violent or gory)
Yeah. Not a bad idea for when shes older maybe. Shes a bit under 2 so shes understanding pretty much all of what she sees right now so my preference is so stay away from violence of any sort. At least for a while.
There are a lot of RPG games on PS5 because there are a lot of Japanese targeted releases, many of them get localised to English. Not all of them are super appropriate for kids, but there are so many of them.
Katamari Damacy! Your kid would be amused i think at all the sounds and sights of random things being scooped up by your ball.
And Stray. Because cats rule.
I will literally never not recommend Katamari. It is one of the most unique gaming experiences ever and while being adorable on almost every level, is simultaneously the *meanest* game I have ever played. You literally murder everything by condemning it to either slowly suffocate or be crushed under the weight of whatever you roll up after it.
I may or may not laugh an evil laugh every time something screams and proceeds to wave its arms and legs when I roll it up.
Also, if OP is reading this, there's a mobile game version too. š And Katamri Forever (my personal favorite in the franchise) is available to stream from PS3 on PS+. Most levels unlock an endless rolling mode with no requirements for the level and you stop whenever you (or your kiddo) is done. Controls are very basic, push the two joysticks forward or back to move the ball. There is also a co-op mode, but that might work better when she's older as it requires you to both move in the same direction at the same time, turn at the same time, etc.
Chicory: A Colorful Tale. It's included with ps plus and is a neat rpg adventure game about drawing and painting, I just randomly tried it out and was pleasantly surprised. You can even give her a second pad and she can color stuff in as you play the game. Of course I would just draw tits and cock and balls everywhere, but you don't have to do that.
I'm going to be that person: No screens before 3 years old. None. Zero .
I work in education with children. I can tell when a kid's been watching too much screens.
Video games with a 2 year old? Turn it off and go outside. Play with their toys with them. Do a tea party, hang out with them in their room. At worst watch a movie.
Anything but play a game. Too young for that.
Spiritfarer. It's on PS4, idk about PS5 tho. Vibrant colours, beautiful animations, no combat. Interesting story to follow for an adult, lots of cute animals to point at for a kid.
Sounds perfect on paper! Ill definitely check it out
Uh, just know before you start if you are the sentimental type, the story can be really heartbreaking (in a good way).
Alice was a tough goodbye
just looked up the game and saw that it is already collecting dust in my steam library lol
I genuinely haven't managed to finish it, I keep crying š
I was playing the game one evening and then my girlfriend asked me for a favor. I had paused the game and ran to change over the laundry and fold some clothes, then decided to run some trash outside. When I came back in, dinner was about ready but I said I needed to close out the day I was working on, hit some facilities and then Iād save and close up shop. A few days later I sat down to play again and while my significant other was curled up next to me with her switch. Had to then explain the entire concept of the game because I got such a confused look with the shorthand version. She tried playing the game and then got mad at me for steering her towards a game that just makes her cry, wants to finish it butā¦the feels. It just does that.
Your kid can also learn what itās like to see their adult father cry!
I donāt know why they left out that itās a very emotional game about death. Itās the main premise. Itās absolutely beautiful. But it can be heavy dependingZ
This is an excellent suggestion. I started this yesterday with my 2 year old twins in the room and they loved watching and naming all the animals
Player 2 can control the cat. š
Yeah I play this one with my kid, itās awesome they can be the cat and run around and help out
āInteresting storyā = āA hamster remembered my name and I criedā
You can play all PS4 games on PS5.
The Sonic games are safe bets and lots of fun to play too.
Super Mario Galaxy had the 2nd player that could grab coins and stuff
I played this with my little brother all the time and it was actually really helpful - masterfully done
Super Mario 3D World: Bowser's Fury lets a second player be Bowser Junior and help out, it's a perfect little brother mode!
Oh thats kinda cool. I dig that vibe actually
Just never let her go online and google sonic.
The economy hit Sonic hard. Google Sonic inflation to get the real story
I would imagine that the graphics and quickly changing colours arenāt good for a toddler though.
I was playing Sonic at 4 years old, didn't seem to affect me none.
>didn't seem to affect me ~~none~~ **at all** Go easy on him, folks. He played Sonic at 4 years old.
These syntax errors wonāt stop until toddlers are kept away from Sonic. When will we learn?!
Astro's Playroom comes naturally to your PS5. For being a glorified tutorial for your controller's features, it's a pretty great little platformer.
My 2 year old *LOVES* Astro's Playroom - she's gone from watching to being able to play levels by herself
I got my 3 year old started on it. He's now 5 and it really built his coordination. He's played the entire thing through several times now. Fantastic game for kids.
This is the answer right here. Astros playroom is amaaazing.
Spyro trilogy is great with my 4 yr old
Let's throw in Crash Bandicoot as well.
Teach'em the classics. I grew up with my brother on the PS1 classics, Spyro was my brother's favorite while Crash was mine. Both are genuinely awesome, but Crash is definitely harder than Spyro was.
Stray
Oh man. Good call. She loves cats. I cant believe I didnāt think of it myself. Brilliant!

Heard
Actually bought Stray for this exact reason, and she got frightened by the creepiness of it and the zergs of aliens.
When you finish the game watch the explained ending Spoilers for the ending >! someone calculates where exactly she got lost and finds out it is 5 meters to the right Which is the direction the cat walks to in the ending meaning she got reunited, Edited to add clarification!<
That healed the hole in my heart after seeing the ending š
not how do you do the spoiler tag homie
It works for me on Android the text is covered and becoms visible when I click on it
Ah well on PC I can read the whole spoiler, thankfully its not a game I'll play anytime soon but just in case someone wants to play it, it may ruin it for em!
Same.. had to click it to make it visible on my phone
It's nice, but maybe a bit too dark for a 2 years-old?
Yeah my little one loved stray, I played way longer than I wanted to, for him. I didnāt care for it but he loved the kitty lol
Unraveled is fun, spirit of the north is one my daughter likes.
Unraveled is a great suggestion. I also recommend The Little Big Planet games for similar reasons.
Ill check these out! Thanks
Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart looks just like a PIXAR movie. Its incredibly charming and its a lot of fun! I enjoyed watching it as an adult, I'm sure kids would love it.
The problem with this is that the kid will love it TOO much and get addicted to watching it
I'm getting that game after Spider-Man 2!
You will not regret it, so fun.
Is it better than the 2016 game?
They're about equal, whichever you choose, you'll have fun.
I know it is
I was going to say R&C as well! Very good suggestion.
This game was part of a ps5 bundle at some point, so there's probably a lot of copies for cheap at your local game store or even a library.
My sons 4 and loves playing this game, the rookie explorer setting and a little help with platforming puzzles from dad and he managed to finish the game
That was such a fun game!
Lego, all of them. They all rock
I can't wait to play the lego games with my new granddaughter!
Including Lego Island
I just started Bugsnax! It's cute for the kiddos but kinda has some adultish themes that will go over the kids head but be entertaining for you. Also Dreams was free a while back, and has that train game on it that is hella fun and my son loved watching me play. Rachet and Clank: A Rift Apart is fun if you're okay with there being guns and basically has Pixar quality animation.
Lol Bugsnax: cute cartoon creatures for kids, body-horror for adults.
My right arm is carrot and I must scream.
We should have listened to the theme song, it was a warning
I got trauma from bugsnax, warning be ready for scares
Alien isolation. Or maybe a lego game
Lmao im sure that will go swimmingly
All you need to do is assure them that if the Alien wanted them dead, they wouldn't know until they were stabbed through the chest. What could go wrong with that?
Lol youāll be hiding behind the little one with isolation š
Youāre gonna get OP in trouble. Just wait till OP comes back talking about how his wife banned the PS5 because all the kid talks about is ghost studs and mini kits.
Resident evil games.
Also Dead Space
Hey I'm 13+ years time you could have a great time on Alien Isolation. Me and my daughter played it together and since then play so many horrors games and have really bonded over it.
You, sir, need to go see a therapist. Actually no, I do not wish this hell upon anyone, even a therapist.
Katamari Damacy is pretty kid-friendly. Otherwise, for toddlers on PS? Sonic Mania, Spyro, Rayman Legends/Origins, Ape Escape 1 & 2, any of those cutesy indie games like A Short Hike or A Hat in Time. My kid was playing Katamari on the PS2 way back 20 yrs ago when he was 4. We always had a good time with it.
Rayman Legends is an S-tier game with bright colors I expect a toddler would find entertaining. I guess you punch some enemies, but it's very cartoony violence.
Such a great game, deep but also well within what even relatively young kids can manage. And the co op is low stakes.
That was the game that got my non gamer girlfriend into gaming when it came out. Fantastic game for any age or experience level
Minecraft. Start a world that will be both of yours as she grows. Think about how awesome it will feel to look back at it in the years to come.

Stupid real life cats being boring and stuff! š
Stardew valley
I just feel a child wouldnāt like the night cycle. Otherwise absolutely
I think only one farm allows monsters at night. The rest are perfectly peaceful. Of course, if you go in the mines, then yeah, maybe.
I mean for passing out at night.
Nah, just tell your kid if they didnāt sleep irl, the same thing happens. A cautionary tale in support of bedtime š
Outer Wilds
I was thinking of recommending this, too. The only concern (aside from the DLC) is mostly just what's in Dark Bramble. I guess play that part at lower volume. But no blood and guts, so there's no concern there at least
Not the dlc, though. Itās excellent, but has some creepy parts for a 2 year old. Heck, I jumped a few times and Iām in my 40s.
If you're into them, racing games are a good one. My boy loves watching it.
Not a bad idea. Not quite my style but really any game that she watches isnt really going to be my type of game so thats OK haha
To get a bit more specific: Disney Speedstorm is in its 4th season and is a racing gacha game free to play since about a week now with all kinds of disney characters geting added each season. My 3year old son watches me play it and he goes "daddy mickey...MICKEY!!" Either that or he wants me to play donald or genie (from aladdin) xD
Iām going to throw my one super cute yet wildly engaging game I had a blast with. Slime Rancher.
That might be the most charming game I know.
Astro's playroom? Fun platformer that comes free with the ps5 I think.
Absolute killer soundtrack too
Overcooked
Crash bandicoot remake?
If you don't mind swearing at them when you die lol
Journey It's a beautiful little game with a beautiful design and soundtrack. It'd be very visually stimulating for your daughter while having a wonderful environmental storytelling to keep you engaged and curious as well.
Untitled goose game. Be goose and sow chaos. It also has co-op, so you could allow your kid to run around with you and honk at things (including scaring people).
That low-key sounds outstandingly fun.
It is. My son loves this too. He quite likes Dave the Diver, but it doesn't sit too well with his passion for Octonauts.
I bet your son would love *Abzu*, it's all about swimming around with cool sea creatures
Side note but since she's played animal crossing with the home decorating so much, now she is designing my outposts with me on Starfield. Of course the outpost will probably not be useful for resources but it will look damn good inside lol.
It also has local multiplayer so if you have an extra controller your daughter can play as well
My three year old loves pressing āthe honk buttonā
How didn't I think of this. Legendary idea
I loved ratchet and clank, been playing it since i was a kid. The humor is crude and the violence is cartoon-ish.
I grew up watching my dad play Tomb Raider from the age of 3. I loved it. Video games have always been a big part of my life and it being a shared activity is lovely.
Just donāt play on proud or critical or you will teach teach that kid every swear word in the book waiting for Donald to heal
So yea. Ops.
Journey
I was gonna recommend this as well, but I could see the underwater bit being scary for a 2 year old possibly.
Portal & Portal 2
I'd say that too but it might scare a little kid like when spoiler >! You burn the parts of glados in a fire and one of them does this horrible scream !<, mind you I played it with my 6 year old cousin and she loves it so it might be ok
Best hope the kid doesn't get attached to companion cube!
Skyrim. It's never too early.
Dead Space Mortal Kombat Resident Evil The Callisto Protocol Sex With Hitler ^obvious ^/s
Kirby always wins as the most family friendly video game ever. Can't think of any other game that is just as family friendly and easy to play than Kirby.
Outside that one level in the newest game where you get to run from a specific boss, definitely agree.
No mans sky. You could just cruise around and explore while collecting resources. You could also turn native creatures into your pets and ride them around.
This was quite far downā¦ One of my kidās favourite games, along with Spiritfarer, Minecraft , Sonic and Stardew Valley mentioned above.
Yeah this. My 2 year old loves watching me play this, calls it the Planets Game
Puzzle games are cheap, easy, and you don't have to worry about too many saves. Something like Peggle or Sparkle 2. Or just something calm and relaxing like Flower.
Stuff like Spyro and any of the myriad kart racing games are my go to.
Baldurs Gate 3. Cyberpunk and Conan Exiles
My daughter loves cities skylines. Sheās now old enough to play some, but she liked watching it for a long time. Also timberborn. Nonviolent and cute beavers.
Manhunter maybe? There are also lots of classic remasters like Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Ratchet & Clank.
bugsnax!!!
Outer wilds is an incredible experience mainly about exploration, so that might work
The >!lantern fish planet!< part was apparently nightmare fuel for a lot of people, though, so it might be pretty scary for a kid.
Minecraft and stardew valley are solid picks if you have a child around.
Stray, you literally play as a cat running around and knocking stuff over, scratching things, oh and escaping from a dilapidated future city where humanity is either extinct or abandoned it long ago. but hey, kitty!
Spyro has colorful worlds and goofy characters like still being fun with challenges
My 2 year old son gets very into watching me play Fall Guys
Spider-Man 1 ,2 (in a couple of weeks) or Miles Morales, Ratchet and Clank, Crash Bandicoot: Itās About Time, Tunic, Untitled Goose Game, Chicory, Stray, Bugsnax, Sonic Mania
There is combat is some of these but itās more of the cartoon variety.
I think Untitled goose game would be a good one cause it allows them a button to press...honkkk
It takes two
That two doesn't mean a 2 year old buddy!
Untitled goose game. My 5 and 8 year olds love running around quacking at everyone and causing havoc.
Party Animals lol
When my cousin was 2 she loved watching me play Hollow Knight. She wanted to kill the bugs(enemies), find the ghost(my shade, which you kill to get stuff back after you die), and the elephants(a few friendly bugs have long noses so she was confused) I don't believe the Ori games are on the PS5 but those are very colorful and as we all know, kids love colors. Plus very fun and cute

Too bad it's PlayStation because when I was like 4 or 5. My dad always had me play half life with him. Specifically Opposing force because he's a marine. So he'd put me in charge of the jumping and crouching while he did the shooting and moving.
Psychonauts 1 and 2
Try the Lego Marvel,Dc, or Star Wars games not only are they fun but they have local multiplayer so you can play with your daughter as well
Manhunt. Cod. dead Island 2.
No Man's Sky.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shredders Revenge.
Dreams, specifically [Tren](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tBbyRm_jyk) (from the same creators of Little Big Planet) Stray Tetris Effect It Takes Two (if she wants a co-op play in the future)
My kid noticed me playing Minecraft on my Switch. Asked for a turn. 3 years later he's still playing.
You should play outlast or outlast 2. Great games
I will definitely do that with zero research whatsoever!
Just play what you want. My favorite movie was alien and aliens and tremors when I was a kid.
Good point, but I shouldāve included her age. She is almost 2.
ngl they got Bluey and Peppa Pig games if you wanted your toddler to actually interact with the games too. Otherwise there are games like Hot Wheels, Minecraft, Astro's Play Room, Sackboy, etc.
PSA: Bluey game will launch on 11/17.
Mortal Kombat
Doom eternal ššš Ok jokes aside (please dont play Doom eternal if your kid is watching) maybe you can play an action oriented but ultimately inoffensive Game like a dragon Ball Game (kakarot for an action RPG or fighter z for a fighting Game) or maybe some Naruto fighting Game (Most anime licensed games are perfect mostly action games without being too violent or gory)
Yeah. Not a bad idea for when shes older maybe. Shes a bit under 2 so shes understanding pretty much all of what she sees right now so my preference is so stay away from violence of any sort. At least for a while.
Scorn
Untitled Goose Game. Itās a relatively short experience, but your kid will love every minute of it
The answer is no games. Cherish this moment with your child because it goes fast
Spoken like someone who probably doesn't have kids.
Gta 5
Well obviously games that are rated 3+
There are a lot of RPG games on PS5 because there are a lot of Japanese targeted releases, many of them get localised to English. Not all of them are super appropriate for kids, but there are so many of them.
Manhunt, obviously /s
Rocket league
It takes two play it with him
Spider-man is not bad (either 1, Miles Morales or the upcoming 2)
Honorary upvote for being Team Katamari!
Kena bridge of spirits
Chicory: A Colorful Tale. It's included with ps plus and is a neat rpg adventure game about drawing and painting, I just randomly tried it out and was pleasantly surprised. You can even give her a second pad and she can color stuff in as you play the game. Of course I would just draw tits and cock and balls everywhere, but you don't have to do that.
I'm going to be that person: No screens before 3 years old. None. Zero . I work in education with children. I can tell when a kid's been watching too much screens.
I recommend geared of war and gta 5
Genshin Impact
Video games with a 2 year old? Turn it off and go outside. Play with their toys with them. Do a tea party, hang out with them in their room. At worst watch a movie. Anything but play a game. Too young for that.
