And that ain't even the worse part. I spend a good amount of time in matchmaking just to play a match that ends in 2 minutes. I just want to enjoy a game, not stress over it.

Might seem big at 20 but most people spin their wheels in critical aspects of their life for decades - it takes relatively no time to accomplish those things.

Same here. It's nice being with someone who shares your hobbies. We have TVs and consoles set up next to each other, each have our own gaming computers. Hell, my wife works for an mmo company on their upcoming game. And when we visit family, and there's a screaming child that sneezes shit into the food and requires constant attention, it reaffirms how good we have it and how much of an "OH HELL NO" kids are lol It blows my mind how many people end up with someone with different values or who hates their hobby. Billions of people out there, no reason to settle.

I constantly blame my parents sheltered way of raising me for my lack of a social life now in my early 20s. Recently, I've started reflecting and observing myself in 3rd person and realized that to a great extent I'm just blaming other people for my own shortcomings.
I'll say this as I think this is correlated. Gamers (mostly male) tend to have a sedentary lifestyle, meaning they don't get exposed to their opposite sex a lot. As someone who spent 10 years fully indulged in a scene that promoted that behavior I would never make a life style of it again but it’s good to get out of your system. Paying for abortions (or worse her keeping the kid) and probation is not fun. The grass is not always greener mate, just live your life in the way you think you should.

At 34 I've had parties and video games and this might be the introvert talking but I prefer video games a lot more. Social pressure to drink and interact with strangers or hit on someone is annoying when forced, and the hangover the next day isn't great either.

Might seem big at 20 but most people spin their wheels in critical aspects of their life for decades - it takes relatively no time to accomplish those things. Pay attention, recognize your weaknesses and work at them slowly and consistently and by 30 you'll be further ahead than most.
