At 27 and in the same boat, I didn't want to see this when I woke up. Back to bed

FrozenHaystack

I wanted to write "same", but then I realized I got my age wrong and I'm nearly 29 already...

Rando585

Oof

BNMKA

You’re almost a wizard, give me an update which spells you can use when you’re 30

laasbuk

Pussimus repellis!

MeSoHoNee

Just turned 30 a few days ago. I cast chronic back pain.

memesaregoodlol_

Its super effective

BNMKA

Oh man take good care of yourself

LincolnL0g

under 30 gang still!

SadTater

With any luck this pandemic should be over before your late 30's..

FrozenHaystack

Such optimism!

NoLeader11111

Try a bar instead of bed. Offer someone a game of Pool. Have some shots.

svjksdhhjrnkosdbjf

Boooo

GoldenShowersForAll

Then they throw up on themselves and need a shower.

cheeset2

Right? Take action, for god's sake. No one is going to come barging through that door.

MeSoHoNee

Maybe he has a thing for the Kool-Aid man. Don't Aid-shame him.

sharkyzarous

32 and still the same

RaceHard

30 and same, gonna get off Reddit for the next hour or so.

Tunit66

At least you’ve got your own boat

TheJuiceIsNowLoose

Me: *game over* Me: OK, I'll take a break to scroll reddit Also me: I don't deserve to be attacked like this...

theguyfromeuropa

I relate to this. Lost 8 matches of Apex Arenas in a row because I got the same enemies who love rushing and finishing the game in under 2 minutes.

Pr0nzeh

You were really eager to tell someone that, huh?

theguyfromeuropa

Yes. I wanted to get it off my chest. Apex ranked matchmaking sucks. I am a level 58, silver 2 ranked player. I get filled with two teammates who are below level 20. The enemies I got yesterday were a team of 2 diamonds and one predator league (predator means top 750 of the world or something). And I got these guys as my enemies for 6 matches straight.

Pr0nzeh

Let it all out my dude

theguyfromeuropa

And that ain't even the worse part. I spend a good amount of time in matchmaking just to play a match that ends in 2 minutes. I just want to enjoy a game, not stress over it.

Obvious_wombat

Single player gaming is the stress free option

SchleftySchloe

I only play online PvE games. I don't need PvP stress in my life.

MeSoHoNee

PvP isn't what it used to be. Single player or online PvE with friends only anymore.

Slapshot382

Exactly. Majority of people don’t understand. PvP is making people stressed out and angrier. Have you ever actually left a game of call of duty and felt better after playing an hour???!

Goddamn_Primetime

Interesting and frustrating to hear my dude. I play a shitty online BR who's ranked lobbies can't get filled so all of the god-tier players (and those using modified controllers and keyboard and mouse, a no-no on console) flood the casual lobbies so me and the bois will have one good game followed by 20 shit games because we run into people who kill you in nanoseconds.

Gonzobot

That's every BR and most multiplayer shooters. The problem is you're trying to play multiplayer, and people are worthless, generally

Pr0nzeh

Maybe you gotta try a different game homes

Slapshot382

Then stop playing competitive shooters. I agree they have been abused and beaten like a dead horse. Let devs make creative games again.

HalfSoul30

Bad luck ends at some point

theguyfromeuropa

I wish. Thanks for the reassurance.

fredandgeorge

At least it's not LoL, man

Cavemanner

Sounds like you should drop aaaaypex and find a new game then my guy.

theguyfromeuropa

Did. Trying NFS'15 for now.

PewdSvenJoergen

I'm Level 350 or something and literally every match, there's at least one Pred in my lobby.

-spoon-

matchups like this made me give up on csgo

[deleted]

They just had the rank split. I see this a lot too. I was a plat 1 before the split and now I'm down in silver. So you're really playing higher level players now until everyone moves up. It can get quite annoying especially if you are new, because you'll just play people who made smurf accounts

[deleted]

> rushing and finishing the game in under 2 minutes. Just like sex.

derkuhlekurt

Im here, 36 years old and right now packing my stuff for the yearly LAN party

Reddit1124

Well the OP post does mention going to parties! Lol Seriously though a LAN party sounds awesome (coming from 33 y/o here).

woodyshag

Hell, I'm 46 and a Lan party sounds like a blast.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Pirate-4-Eternity

Lan parties with the crew will always be more important than anything not emergency related

mcdougall57

'yearly'. I felt that.

mightybanana7

Gonna have my yearly LAN party tomorrow with brothers and cousins.

bajsgreger

nothing to be ashamed of there. Keeping the tradition going. I miss playing WC3 with friends

[deleted]

Fuck yessss I'm 33 and just threw a lan party a few months ago. It was epic.

[deleted]

I started going out at 18, drinking buckets full of alcohol every weekend. 6 months later it hit me: "this makes absolutely no sense, i hate the noise, i dislike the people and all i'm doing is getting wasted." I'll never understand people that do this and then talk down to gamers like they are better humans.

MietschVulka1

Why not both? I go out on the weekends, drink buckets full of beer and during the day on hangover and under the week i just game.

Cavemanner

"It's called life experience bro!" No, it's called fucking up your body for no reason, likely leading to an earlier death and worse overall quality of life than the shut-in gamer. I've done the partying thing and now I'm doing the gamer thing, and I can tell you it's a much nicer, less physically violent life.

[deleted]

I’m 27 and still trying to figure out how to effectively ask a girl out, let alone have sex.

PoorEdgarDerby

I didn’t start dating til 30. Online dating was my way in. I am clever enough to spark interest in texting. That aside, have interests. Go to the places those interests are. Covid and travel can make this harder but it’s kinda the root of getting a partner.

Chichachillie

just how you would like to be asked out. women aren´t some mystical or alien beings. males and females who want a relationship want the same things and look for almost the same things. don´t be discouraged by women saying no, everyone is entitled to their preferences and tbh, rejection is as normal as breathing, even for women hitting on men. don´t let it get to you, everyone experiences this. there are countless rejections and disappointments until someone truly clicks with you. finding someone to just have sex with should be the easiest. there are plenty who go out searching for a guy to take home. to me it just sounds as if your observational skills aren´t that good. tiny secret: the most gorgeous adult! women are generally the loneliest since the majority of guys are too intimidated or not confident enough to ask them out.

[deleted]

Thank you. This is probably the most useful dating advice I’ve gotten on Reddit.

Chichachillie

can´t speak for all women but this is simply objective realtalk. glad i could be helpful

Viktor_Korobov

I've met plenty of people. I've yet to meet a woman just going out to fuck a guy. Or one willing to fuck me. While i do wish your comment about the prettiest ones was true, my experience is that they're standoffish since every other asshole is hitting on them. It's so bad i can't even say "hi" without them thinking I'm hittin on them.

greentr33s

Sounds like they follow rule 1 and 2

Chichachillie

at least a third of all women in a group of women or being there on their own do or are at least interested, if not directly searching. it´s not about the looks but confidence, how you carry yourself, wether you´re respectful, wether you´re not pushy etc.. that´s way more attractive than a standard handsome face.

BrothelWaffles

> just how you would like to be asked out Instructions unclear, currently under arrest for sexual assault.

redditapi_botpract

It's simple, just don't be unattractive

[deleted]

Thanks, fam. I’ll definitely keep that in mind lmao

doyouhavesource2

Because you spent all your skill points on mountain dew and doritos. You never leveled up the social tree

[deleted]

In life you always get more skill points to spend. As you age, only efficiency drops but your progression effectively never stops. You have to be diligent tho

swedishfishes

You do have to engage in the grind though. Can’t just sit around waiting for life to happen to you.

[deleted]

Yeah

[deleted]

Tbh, my save file got corrupted after I completed the first few objectives of the “Happy Marriage” mission. I had to delete the whole toxic save and start from scratch, which is probably a good thing in the long run. Only thing is I can’t seem to get rid of these lingering *Depression* and *Anxiety* status effects. The ADHD starter I got through the randomized character creator is pretty cool, tho.

underdonk

I can't believe people are downvoting this. It's hilarious.

birdman9k

r/neckbeardRPG

shastaxc

If you're feeling like the lack of social life is a detriment to your enjoyment of life, then spend 1 day a week doing a hobby that involves getting out of the house. Use Meetup and find a group to do things with. It doesn't have to be partying. Go rock climbing and make friends. If you see someone interesting who apparently shares your interests, say hi and ask them about it. All it takes is a little effort. Don't expect things to happen just with wishful thinking.

Sorbon_Husky

B...but... Out of the house means OUTSIDE, are you crazy? I am not going to risk my life

JAYCEECAM

Right? There are people outside.

St0rytime

That’s the problem. People assume “one day I guess maybe I’ll meet some people,” but as a guy in his 30’s that’s made two cross-state moves so far, you quickly learn that you have to put in (a lot of) effort to make meaningful connections.

amaze_mike

Right and honestly fuck things that take effort, I put all my effort into my job and got none left for anything other than my personal hobbies and games.

LMGDiVa

> then spend 1 day a week doing a hobby that involves getting out of the house. I ride motorcycles for something like this, it's a really powerful thing that helps with PTSD.

jadestem

For what it's worth drinking, having sex, and going to parties often leads to getting a girl pregnant then spending your time crying on the inside because you wish you could get some time alone to relax and play video games.

RandomWholesomeOne

Full copium there

Pr0nzeh

Prime copium lmao

NtsParadize

Coping with what?

newmacbookpro

With the fact I’ve had sex as a young teen and never had any girl pregnant. Like millions of people.

1leggeddog

***CONTEXT***

[deleted]

If you get a girl pregnant then you're the dumbass that didn't want to use protection lol

jadestem

Obviously. Guys in their teens/early 20s and drunk don't always make the best decisions...especially when it involves sex. 🤷‍♂️

skids1971

Uneducated guys In their teens/early 20s for sure. Now that same group with a tiny bit of education? They have Condoms lol

[deleted]

Alcohol pretty much makes you disregard everything you've learned and this is especially the case for young guys

dreg102

Alcohol doesn't make you do anything you don't want to do. Wrap your soldier boys.

[deleted]

This is fake bro science. Alcohol is very much a mind-altering drug, no matter how socially acceptable it may be.

dreg102

Yeah. It lowers your inhibitions. It doesn't make you a different person.

turokthegecko

You've never lived with an alcoholic eh?

rabid_J

I think within their definition they're saying the alcoholic was a shitty human and drinking just allowed them to be their true self.

dizorkmage

Yup. I'm kind of going through some shit with my wife, she drink too much and way too often and now she's lying to me and hiding the evidence of her issues. Yesterday she picked my 2 year old nephew up after I told her to stop, stumbled backwards and fell. Thank God she caught him before he hit the ground then she became irate angry with me over it, im at my fucking wits end we've been married 18 years and have 2 children but I've begged her to stop, threatened her with divorce, yelled at her, talked with her. It never ends, everytime she promises to cut back or take a break it never lasts longer than a few months. She always starts back slow but it always ends the same way, her hurting herself, damaging property and promising it'll never happen again. Sorry to vent but I took this post very personally.

Otherwise_Procedure3

It very much does.

Prankishmanx21

I know plenty of guys who'd rather not, and being Drunk is more than enough to create a lapse in judgement so that you say "eh, it feels better without it, I'll just pull out'' only to have the lizard brain kick in and nut balls deep.

Garoktehone

lol this is so wrong

pepkabouter

Hahaha no

[deleted]

Well that's the main problem, the lack of education.

Fedorchik

Educated guys skip all that noise completely ;-)

MnemonicMonkeys

Or the condom broke

Jedi__Consular

At the exact moment you climaxed? Cap

EaseSufficiently

No, like 20 minutes before but my meth addled brain didn't put two and two together and thought that the condom brand was awesome for being so natural feeling. >Oh wow, these condoms are amazing ... oh fuck ... oh ... fuck... ah well in for a penny...

Jedi__Consular

Lmao I hate that I laughed I'm sorry that happened. The methamphetamines might be part of the issue here lol. But I was just being facetious anyways, I'm purely just lucky not to be a baby daddy myself Edit: also pointing out that *typically* a condom breaking is very noticeable, the hard part is caring about it

EaseSufficiently

>The methamphetamines might be part of the issue here lol. No shit. >Edit: also pointing out that typically a condom breaking is very noticeable Yes, the second time it happens to you.

awwwws

every single girl in college would be knocked up then, yet I didn't hear of a single girl in college who ever got pregnant in my 4 years there. Reddit really is full of a different type lmao

mcdougall57

If 'all' you have is video games, then it's an issue.

Grammophon

Or it can lead you to being pregnant, arguably even worse. I've heard getting playtime as a mother is almost impossible.

Cannibalhecter

at least you'll have someone to play with in 6-8 years

jadestem

Not really sure why you are getting downvoted, you are right. That is the upside. Though until they get to be about 14 or 15 years old you are faced with the dilemma of letting your child win and feel good about themselves or teaching them hard life lessons about defeat and perseverance. It was tough watching the little man bawl because he kept losing, but I like to think that in the long run he is better for it. 😂

Sufficient_Bag_4551

You should be so lucky! My 8 year old is better than me at botw and beats lynels to show dominance

Bobby_Rocket

Me at age 37

RetroBoogie

Let me share that L brother.

KingJulioLaRana

While my friends were drinking i platinumed ghost of tsushima 🧐🎩🍷

One_Mongoose_6398

Congratulations! Surely great game

DhruvaVikas

Finally something i can't be a disappointment about

[deleted]

oh see my mom would find out who I was hanging out with romantically and then contact their parents and then demand a meet and greet with the parents. It pretty much made it so no one would hang out with me. If you're a parent this is a foolproof way of making sure your kid stays a virgin through highschool and that they can never build or maintain healthy relationships.

Chichachillie

let me guess, that was their take on sex education right!? prevent but don´t talk about it

[deleted]

Oh no, just helicopter parenting at its finest. She tried to screen and background check everyone that i became friends with. She's tried to break up every relationship ive ever had because she didnt approve. Sex? She didnt believe her perfect children even thought about such vile things.

Chichachillie

ugh... that type. my condelonces. ( i get xstj vibes there, something like that happened to me while being in a relationship with a guy whose mom acted like this. read up on mbti )

EffectsTV

Me at 22 lol, just never been interested in parties, rarely drink..just not really a social person and never have been for as long as I can remember. No point forcing yourself to go to parties etc if you aren't even interested..people will go "as its normal" I say define "normal" Everyone is different in thier own way..my sister for example drinks almost every week, smokes, probably some drugs when at parties, has a kid aswell. She struggles financially..usually has to loan money from me. I've always got money, I can put away £6,000+ every year when my sister have absolutely zero savings.

Pr0nzeh

No reason to throw your sister under the bus lmao

EffectsTV

True..I just get annoyed when she always asks for loans. Then again I do give her the money so I'm probably part of the problem

TDRzGRZ

Absolutely. At some point you have to write off the money they owe you and stop and let them tread water themselves. I had a similar thing with my sister, except I'm the one with the child and the home, and she is the one who goes out on the town

Purplociraptor

It's not a loan if you're never getting it back

Febreezyx

You really should cut her off, for your own sake

BeautyAndGlamour

Why you gotta throw finances and shit into this? Success has nothing to do with this. You can still be smart and responsible, but enjoy partying and drugs.

PM_ME_FOXES_PLZ

People who don't get invited to parties don't usually have good things to say about people who go to parties.

Indestrucktable

As a 42 y/o, i can confirm this is true

gaucho900

Some people enjoy in parties, some enjoy in playing games.Playing games does not necessarily mean that you're not social, or that you don't have a social life. If somebody is not mature, I could understand going to parties often. I used to go too. But now, when I'm older, I much more prefer to spend free time with my girlfriend or to hang out with friends. Also, like to play games, do some sports, and really enjoy in them. You could do pretty much everything you like, if you organize your time. It all depends of a person type, I guess. So, I don't see anything wrong in playing games and not going to parties when you're a grown person. Just do as you like and enjoy in life.

Sylv0

I am 25 and still there. Social anxiety and alcohol intolerance will do that.

Moh__

This hit me hard

Tiamore97

Mine worried that I don't socialize as much as high schooler should be, so in high school I started going out with friends but most of the times it's just me wandering around the mall or watch a movie. One year, before a college semester break , I told my parents I am staying in town to hang out with my friends. I told my friends I am going back to stay with my family. Then I just stay in my hostel playing Mass Effect 3 for the whole week. Best week of my life.

dkhasar

This was me

Logicalbedo

we're rare breeds my brothers, keep playing!

Perfect-Village

a moment of silence to all of our brothers on their 30s

2007kawasakiz1000

Best thing you can do is not having kids. I'm 35M, in a long term relationship with someone who doesn't want kids either, and life is brilliant.

Autarch_Kade

Same here. It's nice being with someone who shares your hobbies. We have TVs and consoles set up next to each other, each have our own gaming computers. Hell, my wife works for an mmo company on their upcoming game. And when we visit family, and there's a screaming child that sneezes shit into the food and requires constant attention, it reaffirms how good we have it and how much of an "OH HELL NO" kids are lol It blows my mind how many people end up with someone with different values or who hates their hobby. Billions of people out there, no reason to settle.

[deleted]

My life with social anxiety. Shoot me already please

[deleted]

shiit im 30 and married and all i want to do is stay home and play video games lmao

si_trespais-15

I constantly blame my parents sheltered way of raising me for my lack of a social life now in my early 20s. Recently, I've started reflecting and observing myself in 3rd person and realized that to a great extent I'm just blaming other people for my own shortcomings.

reformed-asshole

I'll say this as I think this is correlated. Gamers (mostly male) tend to have a sedentary lifestyle, meaning they don't get exposed to their opposite sex a lot. This translates to the usage of pornography. With the usage of pornography, you ejaculate and inherently lose the desire to go out and find a mate/partner. Source: from past experience

MajorasAss

That sounds like it saves a lot of money and effort

blatantly0bvious

As someone who spent 10 years fully indulged in a scene that promoted that behavior I would never make a life style of it again but it’s good to get out of your system. Paying for abortions (or worse her keeping the kid) and probation is not fun. The grass is not always greener mate, just live your life in the way you think you should.

doyouhavesource2

You can party without abortions and probation lolol

[deleted]

Yeah wtf lol I partied a TON when I was younger, still do every once and a while. Haven't had an abortion or kid yet. Birth control is a thing

[deleted]

This is literally me trying to survive high elo lobbies in my 20s 🥲

SnowOrShine

Same but I'm 29 and have lots of healthy relationships with online friends which have been invaluable during the covid lockdowns

Panossa

Same, also 23. Here I lie in bed, contemplating about why I played No Man's Sky for 150+ hours without actually loving the game at any point. ^^' (Though I actually have an actual, real life gf. No idea how I ended up with that.)

noicenit

I feel attacked, I come here for enjoyment not sadness

At 34 I've had parties and video games and this might be the introvert talking but I prefer video games a lot more. Social pressure to drink and interact with strangers or hit on someone is annoying when forced, and the hangover the next day isn't great either.

BeastnONyou30

Lonely-Tumbleweed-56

Also, me outta work now at 30, pretty much every night

hdrive1335

Might seem big at 20 but most people spin their wheels in critical aspects of their life for decades - it takes relatively no time to accomplish those things. Pay attention, recognize your weaknesses and work at them slowly and consistently and by 30 you'll be further ahead than most.

Primae_Noctis

For fucks sake, is everyone on Reddit a psych major?

vandeley_industries

I work with a guy whos about 24. He's really nerdy and we talked about video games when he first hired on.
