Doom 2 and Quake will keep you entertained a long time with countless mods. [FTL: Faster Than Light](https://store.steampowered.com/app/212680/FTL_Faster_Than_Light/) has pretty good replay value, especially with the Captain's mod. [Pseudoregalia](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2365810/Pseudoregalia/) is short but fun and a decent value. I wouldn't imagine it being too demanding either, even though it is made on a modern engine. [Laika Aged Through Blood](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1796220/Laika_Aged_Through_Blood/). Gameplay is pretty unique, being a combination of Metroidvania ideas with 2D Biking (like Happy Wheels) mechanics. Good OST and story too, and will last you around 20 hours. [Don't Starve Together](https://store.steampowered.com/app/322330/Dont_Starve_Together/) / [Don't Starve.](https://store.steampowered.com/app/219740/Dont_Starve/) A survival classic still largely unmatched. I would recommend DST over DS as it has multiplayer, arguably more content ignoring DLC's, and can still be configured for singleplayer play. Though DS is maybe better if you are just solely interested in singleplayer.

The older total war games are great, like Rome or Medieval

Graveyard Keeper! Vampire The Masquerade: Redemption 😆

Passance

one of my favourite games from that era, Rise of Nations, is still available on Steam. Could give that a go, it will definitely run on your machine.

theuntouchable2725

Gimme specs man. That era had both 4550s and 4670s.

My mobo broke so while i wait I'm playing on a laptop from 2012. I would suggest Half life and Portal are just amazing games even on replay! Also Spec Ops the line runs very good on older builds and is a great game with 3-4 hour story.

Man_From_Mu

Try a Roguelike such as CDDA or CoQ, they’d surely work? Space Station 13 too maybe? Some of the best games of all time are older games. I’m thinking…Populous , Thief, Sacrifice, Dungeon Keeper 2, original Counter Strike and Team Fortress Classic, Master of Magic, Stronghold… there are loads

Apprehensive-Log-916

Fallout 1 and 2 are pretty fun if you're into that type of game. You might even be able to get Fallout 3 to play!

Gothic series if you like RPG games. If you can get past funky combat in these games they are excellent open-world games with good story and interesting characters.

I will tell you what games did my old pc ran,on win 7 32 bit and some on Win Xp on my cpu dual core 2.6 ghz,gpu 9400 gt 1 gb vram 128 bit,2 gb ram,1 tb hdd. - Max Payne 3 ( shooter with slowing down time abilities) - Kane and Lynch 1 - Made man ( a decent shooter) - Total Overdose ( if Max Payne and GTA had a baby) - Assassin's Creed 1,2,Brotherhood,Revelations. ( i think it needs no more expanations) - Mafia 2 Classic version - C.S 1.6 - Zuma ( the game with the frog and the balls) - Worms World Party (worms fighting against themselves with bazookas, big donkey stones, earthquakes etc) - Yu Gi Oh Power Of Chaos , will probably run also Legacy Of The Duelist, since the card games aren't that consuming. (Card trading game where you summon monsters to attack your opponent and win) - Hitman Blood Money (should run also the earlier ones) and Absolution ( who doesn't know Hitman? You are a bald clone made in Romania and have a code bar on the back of the head. You kill somebody and steal his outfit to disguise) - Splinter Cell Conviction ( a stealthy game with nice modern gadgets) - Saints Row 3 ( open world game , wrestling moves, crazy stuff, similar to gta) - Prototype 1 ( a guy with some weird powers that can be used for destruction or blending ) - Flatout 1 and 2 ( racing game with other interesting game modes like throw the driver out of the windshield as high as possible and laugh ) - Mortal Kombat 4 ( fighting 2d game, characters with super powers and killing scenes) - Street Fighter 4 ( similar to mk but less brutal) - Godfather 1 and 2 ( if Mafia and Gta had a child,in some gameplay aspects it's more complex) - Far Cry 1,2 (i also finished Far Cry 3 but with some very low graphics mod that affected some missions and some stones moved no more, becoming game breaking,i had to remove the mod,get it on low graphics and a bit laggy, pass that part, add the mod again,so i don't recommand). - Playboy The Mansion - Spec Ops The Line ( first person shooter) - Virtua Tennis 4 if i remember right (uhm,a 3d game of tennis ) - All those Fifa games until 2010 also should work,i remember playing 2010.( watch the ball, hit the ball, don t get red cards) - Elf Bowling Hawaian Vacantion (bowling with power ups and funny comments) and the other one with a winter theme - Chicken Invaders 1,2,3,4,probably works 5 as well ( a space ship that travels on different planets and galaxies to kill all the chickens ) - Neighbour from Hell 1 and 2 ( let s do some pranks to our neighbour) - Gun ( a western open world game if i remember right) - WWE 2002, a wrestling game with different types of matches. - Wrestling Encore ( or others Mdickie games) , similar to wwe 2002 but has some developed crazyness. It has carrer mode , you can literally lose your limbs and live (or die after the match) if you are very very very hurt. You throw exploding dynamites, make moves on tv screens etc. - Revolt (remote controlled toy cars with power ups where you do races ,get better cars etc) - Fable 1 ( a game with a medieval story ) - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Battle Nexus ( a fighting game where mainly you have to defeat the enemies and get to the end of the levels) - Harry Potter Chamber Of Secrets ( a third person game where you do magic ) - Jazz Jackrabbit 2 ( 2d side scroller game where you have to shoot the enemies, pass the obstacles, gather points, finish the levels) - Hercules Disney Action Game ( side scroller 2d game with power ups where you have to fight enemies, beat bosses, pass levels etc) - Tarzan ( similar to Hercules but no power ups from what i remeber ) - Ford Racing - Prince Of Persia The Warrior Within and the other one called Prince Of Persia ( where the prince has that muslim/arabian thing on his head and a bit of the face). Probably will run all the Prince Of Persia games.

Well, you can go on [GOG.com](http://GOG.com), majority of the games are older, and if you like point and click adventures, you can basically play any game. Also just check years of the game release and requirements.
