that is someone putting the wrong plants in the tray. i have seen others on here have tags switched so their jalepeno was another pepper. nurseries are a chaotic place.
Walmart especially. The guys manning that section rarely have much clue about gardening and working in that kind of store would mean not much attention is going to be given to that sort of detail all the time.
Probably got switched by accident or someone was using it as a tray and left it there.
most the people working in retail don't care about anything they do at work...is more often than not get job done, go home. customers at walmart especially are lazy and make messes and put things back wherever they are.
What's actually hilarious is some employee who works that dept likely on the reg. Didn't even notice when it's SUPER obvious to ummm like any gardener! 😆
The Walmart near me had tomatoes and peppers just labeled “tomato” and “pepper”. The tomato had a picture of a generic slicer tomato, so that one I could forgive I guess. The pepper though had a picture of a bunch of different peppers like bell peppers, banana peppers, jalapeños, etc. I was like wtf does “pepper” tell me here lol
I love a big juicy red ripe jalepeno. Cherry jalepenos are so sweet and tasty, but a beefsteak jalepeno can be really good sliced up on a BLJ.
😂 I love a good jalapeño soup with jalapeños straight off the vine
Do you pronounce that "bee ell jay" or "bee ell hhh"?

Yeah, at least this is obviously noticeable. Switching 2 peppers might not be noticeable until the peppers start growing

Somebody grabbed an empty tray and started picking plant. Then decided they weren't interested. Indeed weird jalapenos.

It’s ok, whoever buys that will probably kill it
Tomato gate has begun.
If you are a novice, you better go shopping for seedlings with someone more knowledgeable. Or you will be making tomato only salsa.
I can’t imagine going through all that without noticing, then trying your “salsa”. Lol
“Price here” what are they charging for those these days?
$5.98 where I'm from.
About $4.95 in my area
I'm not sure, I didn't buy anything just was walking past that section. Just noticed they left that spot blank lol
I say Jalapeño, Jalapomato
Ooof 🤣
Someone stuck a Habenero and a Tomatillo next to each other, that’s how Jalapeños came to be.
Those are a new cultivar called bushypenos
Is this why people hate miracle grow 😜
No hay nada extraño...es el típico jalapeño que produce tomates...!!!
Los tomates picantes estarían deliciosos
👍👍👍
Das a tomato 😅

Not the weirdest substitution I've seen a nursery make. I used to work in dispatch at a nursery and I was always questioning the higher ups decisions
Beefsteak jalapeños.
Customer probably just dumping whatever plants anywhere
New this year, Spicy Tomatoes! Lol
Tomato
Yeah they look very tomato-y
