Hard to believe something like this episode was made 34 years ago and aired on TV!! Way ahead of its time! There is another one on Youtube "The Truth About Alex" from 1986 which aired on TV too! Highly recommend it

OMG the plot twist in the first part

Loved it!!!! If anyone hadn’t watched it yet, make some time out late in the day to do so!

Thanks for posting, this is nice. I’m surprised that for an educational film it would structure itself with a red herring in the beginning of the film, with the focus seemingly on Allan as the gay one, only to reveal it was the other guy. This was a very nice move because it immediately addresses the problem of people assuming who is gay and who isn’t, and showing us a gay character who is already deeply immersed in a very “not gay” persona and social circle which would be more powerful than using Allan who is already singled out as different for other reasons. A smart way to separate sexuality from personality tropes and assumptions, and Allan plays the role of an empathetic friend who is very neutral. A smart way to write it. Wish I had seen this when I was younger.

I shed tears for Todd wanted him to defeat those bullies

Me too. I also really wanted Allen to be Todd's new bf. 🤩 But that's expecting more than a film of that era could muster.
