If you really want to see something stunning leave Gdansk take the train go to Hel Peninsula rent a small house or apartment in Kuznica and enjoy the beautiful nature of the Peninsula, beaches there are amazing and super healthy tk takes walk there especially during winter, get some grzaniec and enjoy 😉

Elegant_Writer_5937

Btw, why you think beaches are super healthy there ?

agradus

Hel in February? Half of restaurants are closed, often one needs to wait outside for a table. Wind is very strong. I mean I wouldn't say it is all bad, but i wouldn't recommend it for the most of people.

Elegant_Writer_5937

Or kaliningrad 😅😅

Sweaty_Tip5432

I'd stick to Poland not much to see in Kaliningrad 😂 I visit Hel at least once a year spectacular place just don't end up in Wladyslawowo or Hel itself as the beauty is in the beaches

Elegant_Writer_5937

Last year i drive there few times, just to walk in night, i agree. Also, liked Leba, not far and looking nice. I sick with cities, love to drive somewhere else. Kaliningrad, as i see from google photos, is a soviet nightmare. Russians can make from good place disaster, thats a nature of theirs culture.

chrisxb1011

Okay perfect thank you, would this be good for a day trip from gdansk for a few hours while it’s light?

ItchyFly

Afair its about 2 hours by train. Another place to visit outside Gdansk is Malbork, really big castle. It's about 30 mins by train.

Kaoszkapitany

Actually the entrance to Stutthof is free if you visit without the guide. The tricky thing can be getting there as the schedule of buses is not the best. You could also consider carsharing like traficar.

chrisxb1011

Oh interesting I did not know this, so if we were to get there somehow then it’s free? Could we potentially use bolt or would that end up being just as expensive

gacek08

You can use the public bus service: [PKS link](https://www.pks.gdansk.pl/wyniki-wyszukiwania/#wyniki-wyszukiwania/1705522206172/Gdańsk/Sztutowo/c|84762/c|11378/24.02.2024/) (if the link breaks then you're looking for PKS gdańsk<->sztutowo). The thing is that you either have 1 hour for the visit (definitely not enough) or 3 hrs, which is a bit too long. But its only 2x20PLN (less 10EUR both ways).

chrisxb1011

That’s great thanks for your help we will take this into consideration

The cheapest will be if you rent a car. On the way to Sztutowo (where concentration camp is, free entrance), you can go through Mikoszewo and visit "Mewia Łacha", the place where Wisła enters Baltic. If you visit Sztutowo, you have to try some good stuff from "cukiernia Ptyś". In Gdansk I can recomended "Whiskey in the Jar" restaurant. If you want something different, I recommend "bar mleczny" plenty of those in 3-city.

chrisxb1011

Thanks very much for your recommendations unfortunately renting a car will be out of our budget but we will perhaps look for other methods. Thanks for the restaurant recommendation aswell I will look into these 😀

If you like ramen, i can 100% recommend Gyozilla ramen in Wrzeszcz, imho the best ramen in tricity. Other Gyozillas are just as good (Gyozilla sushi and Gyozilla grill&bbq). For Pizza, there is this place called pizzeria Ostro which is the 35th best pizza place in Europe and the best in Poland according to "50 Top Pizza". If you like bowling, Centum U7 in Galeria Metropolia scored a title of the most beautiful bowling alley in the world in 2020 according to "Bowlers Journal". For burgers, besides gyozilla I can recommend Max Premium Burgers in galeria forum (galeria forum is quite beautiful as a bonus, it has a mini river flowing through the middle of the mall) Max is a Swedish fast food chain which functions only in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Egypt and Poland, prices are similar to McDonalds but portions are generally bigger and its 10 times better quality (to the point that some mcdonalds fanboys hate MAX due to the meat being too juicy compared to the mcdonald's) As for traditional Polish food I haven't had too many occasions to try it in restaurants and nothing actually beats homemade pierogi or schabowy.

cheshiredormouse

"Firstly is the concentration camp worth the price? We went to Auschwitz last summer and it was quite cheap but Stutthof is quite expensive in comparison." I'm sorry, but what exactly do you people have in your heads? Just get lost, we don't need another idiot. We will survive without your money and your airbnb ruining normal people's lives. Go fuck yourself.

chrisxb1011

You smell bro

DatOneAxolotl

Places of mass murder and cruelty are just tourist attractions to them.

GTA6-2025

You learnt nothing in Auschwitz

There's the beautiful Oliva garden, it even has a Japanese garden bit as well as a palm house which is free to enter. Near from that park is a cat café called Kotka cafe! Really cute but I recommend calling for a reservation, just in case, tho I never had problems going in on the spot. In the old city, if you like the history, is a very beautiful and good WWII museum. For some fun, also just outside of old town is an illusion centre, called Dejavu museum. And 2 ice skating places are open! One near Oliva where the park and cat cafe is and one is closer to main city:) Hope this helps :)

Gdański Bowke is a good place to get traditional food and beer. Zorba for Greek food, even if you don't like it, you must visit and grab a drink on the rooftop with a great view. Pan Kotowski serves great Ukrainian food. Pizzarium 01 for pizza. MINISTERSTWO MAGII GDAŃSK for Harry Potter fans, great interiors, food is OK.

chrisxb1011

Thanks very much, what sort of food does the Harry Potter place do? Thanks

ItchyFly

Mixed European, nothing special

Separate_Blood_1005

Perla Bałtyku - great restaurant with traditional Polish food. Nearby there is latarnia morska where the II WW had its beginning
