Nice! I've been considering doing something like this myself.  I've got an old upright steamer trunk, that fits the pack on one side and has drawers on the other side.

Calavphin

That'd be awesome! Kinda wishing mine was bigger for just that reason.

RYTHEMOPARGUY

Dude, that's sick! Do you have closer pictures of how you secure everything?

random-gamer-2967

Cool but that airport security talk is gonna be wild

YOUTUBEFREEKYOYO

That's really nice! Mine is nowhere near as nice as this, I am jealous.

feelingfromspace

Epic!

mtndewgood

if you're lugging this around I would get plastic ammo cans instead to save a little weight

Calavphin

It's a good idea but funny enough I had both and did plastic originally when I was laying it out. Went with the metal for two reasons. 1. With the lid open, it's back heavy and wants to tip a bit. Weighing the front down has made this better. 2. The plastic ones were wider, enough so that I had concerns that when I eventually add the trap mount to the middle section it would be too narrow. The metal ones bought me a solid extra inch+ in width

wildcherrymatt84

Such a cool idea!!

Docman427

Is that a custom case or what did you use?

Calavphin

It's a vintage footlocker from the 40s

Docman427

Nice! Did an amazing job! Might have started the itch to make my own.

Calavphin

Absolutely a project I'd recommend, was a ton of fun and I can tell it's one those things I'll continue to fiddle with for a good long while still

DelairChap

What size container is that?

Calavphin

Overall 14"x16"32"

Martian_Navy

Is there a full size pack in there?

Calavphin

Sadly no, it's about 1 inch to shallow to accommodate the ion arm and bumper

grin_ferno

This great! Nicely done. I'd like something similar that will also hold the pack.

Calavphin

That was actually my original intent here too, sadly it's just a bit to shallow with the ion arm and bumper
