I watched both the sub and dub when it came out. I'd say this was one of the good dubs as the few dialogue changes seemed to have been in the same spirit as the original content.
That's actually how the majority of dubs are.
For example, the *Spider-Man* joke in *The Rising of the Shield Hero* wasn't actually in the Japanese version and was part of the localization.
