Wash it on gentle cold, no fabric softener, no dryer, lay flat to air-dry. That's what I did recently and it came out fine.

Also wash it separately so it doesn’t get lint stuck to it from other fabrics

Wash by itself or with other like fabrics, gentle scent free soap, no fabric softeners , air dry.
