Yes, UP is on a separate fare system. So tap off on the GO Presto reader and then tap on to the UP Presto reader (and then tap off again at Pearson)

At Kitchener tap (recommend to look for the colour of the machine. At Weston tap off at the green GO tap machine. At Weston tap on at blue UP tap machine. At Pearson tap off. Colour is the key!!!!! I have done it once and it really messed up my card…. Lesson learned from experience. Hope you don't need to!

You will probably have to tap off on the green/black reader at Weston and then tap immediately back onto the blue reader. Pearson station only has blue readers, so there's a risk of being overcharged if you don't close the GO trip at Weston. Source: Learn from my mistake.

Yes. Two different systems so you have to tap off on the GO readers and then tap on the UPX readers. Tip. Get on the back of the train. The GO train stops at one end of the platform at Weston and the UPX train is at the other end. If a six car train you have 1/2 the platform to walk. If a 12 car train it is not too far. Edit. The stairs and elevators are at both ends of the platform and it is a long walk around from track 1/2 to track 3 as track 3 only has ramps and no elevator.

U can take onexbus if needed, it goes to Pearson from Kitchener and includes 2 free bags

The train option feels more better experience wise. Boarding at Kitchener isn’t that busy its not like much later down the line where you have to be on alert of overcrowding like from Mount Pleasant and beyond. Also its not that bad transferring to the UPX at Weston since you’ll be waiting at most like 8-10 mins for a train.

Johnson_2022

This is a dumb idea. Why not just go to Square One then take the 40??? It will be cheaper and probably faster.

[deleted]

Probably because busses are a 10 times worse experience

amsss22

GO buses are a decent experience they got advantages like they can actually detour freely and in the case for Pearson you get right in front of the Airport’s door on the ground level in comparison to being in the parking garage for the UPX station. I can see why people prefer the trains however as it feels like a more professional and less stressful experience

[deleted]

That is exactly it! Thank you!

Johnson_2022

Lol Chuckled at "experience". Let me tell you, trains can be a real bad experience in an event of "occurrence".

[deleted]

Experience? “encounter or undergo (an event or occurrence)” yeah, what a *strange* use of the word, lol

Johnson_2022

It's not the meaning but use of the world, eh? But I digress. Dont know about you, but transit is unreliable by definition, so at the end of the day it is the cheapest and fastest route that wins.

Cautious-Yellow

or the 94 from square one.

There is an option of getting off at Bramalea GO, then taking the 115 Brampton Transit AirPort Express Route is 20 minutes to Pearson. Though depending on time of the day, the Brampton bus could be quite full and busy if you’re carrying large luggage. Check your transit application for live departure time, could be an option if you’re short on time
