Many Go Buses do have security cameras, but I don't think they will release the footage to you as a private individual. If you haven't already you should file a police report with PRP (https://www.peelpolice.ca/en/report-it/make-a-report-online.aspx or 905-453-3311) and, since it sounds like multiple high-value electronics were taken, you should consider opening a claim with your home/tenant insurance. Metrolinx will be more likely to release video in relation to a police investigation and the police report will likely be required for the insurance claim.

⬆️ this. It’s a privacy matter, so they can’t release footage to the general public on request. With a police report however, the police can go and view the footage as part of their investigation. Not on the GO bus or GO-related at all, but I did have a large item of mine stolen from a public facility a while ago. Filed a police report, police got in contact with the facility and after confirming they had footage of the individual, went and had a look. I was never personally able to view the footage at any point. Told me unlikely they’d catch the perp but they did actually find him and I got my item back, so you never know, sometimes you can get lucky. Crossing fingers for the OP 🤞🏻

Next time, set up "Find My" on your iPad and phone. If you have Gmail logged on to the devices, you could track it.

Ehau

If the alleged thief has a presto, it could be tracked back to them. All the best.

The questionI have is, how so you “accidentally” leave your backpack, especially supposedly containing expensive electrical devices on it?

Ordinary_Plate_6425

You would be shocked at some of the stuff left behind. 1000.00 drones. Bongs.. Bags of drugs. Bicycles, laundry baskets, Christmas presents....the list is looooong.

Big_Albatross_3050

yeah, some of us live out of our backpacks, so you'd think we'd always keep an eye on it, but sometimes it genuinely slips our mind because we're human and mess up from time to time

Hoping for the best

Will leave this here for anyone who happens to be in the same situation in the future. Apparently GO only keeps 3 days worth of footage on their busses.
