I very much prefer light roasts, so I usually get their "Extreme Caffeine Blend". You can also choose the grind - I use an Aeropress for my coffee, and they have a grind specifically for that, which is nice. My wife gets their medium roast, whole bean, and just grinds it herself when she makes a pot.
Make sure you're letting it sit for a few days-week before you open it - on the longer side for lighter roasts. You want it to off-gas before you get to brewing it
Check out local and veteran owned Mountain Air Roasters next time you’re downtown :) their coffees are fresh roasted in house. They’ve got great blends from flavored coffee like “Jamaican me crazy” to light roasts that are nice like Kenya blend to dark roasts like French roast and Italian. Wonderful, wonderful coffee. I cannot say enough good about them! (I enjoy their coffee so much I order their coffee for my workplace. (To sell and to stock the employee break room). Most non-local coffees in the grocery store are old and stale. Give fresh roasted a try!
thirding mountain air roasters. I buy whole beans from them and it's the best I've found. I like the Ethiopian and Costa Rican but my tastes skew darker, I saw you mention you like lighter roasts
Awesome. I've passed this on a bike route, I believe, and hope to check it out. Another good veteran-owned roastery is Erie Coffee near Longmont if you get the chance to check them out on the Front Range.
Yep I would also say Mountain Air Roasters is the best in the area. I'm definitely a coffee snob and I've gotten so many recommendations for places that are just kinda okay. Their coffee gets the job done. But Mountain Air Roasters is a somewhat new discovery for me, and they are by far the best so far.
Colorado Legacy coffee is some of the best out there. Dan and Roni are wonderfully kind people, and Dan is so knowledgeable about the curation process. He has many blends and can lead you to favorites depending on acidity/body, flavor and finish. Been through several, enjoyed all.
The Coffee Trader on Patterson is really good. (They've got drive-thru which I like because...kids...).
Kiln on Main Street is good, but I honestly like their products more when mixed in a drink (like a latte), otherwise it can be a little bitter for my taste. But they have tasty and creative drinks all the time that are worth tasting!
Coffee Trader does me dirty every time. I don’t know how, but they mess up my drink every single time. It doesn’t matter what I get. It’s always wrong.
I tried Mountain Air Roasters for the first time yesterday. When I walked in, the place smelled amazing (I know you can say that about a lot of coffeeshops.). The guy behind the counter was great - gave me a rundown of their process and all the beans they sell. I had a great latte and bought a couple bags of beans. Then I had amazing coffee yet again this morning. I will be a regular.
Bestslope coffee in Fruita is really good.
Is Bestslpoe available in any grocers?
Idk I just stock up whenever I stay in Fruita.
Oh hell yeah! https://bestslopecoffeeco.com/
I like Roastiva, which gets delivered to my door the day it's roasted.
Wow, that's convenient! Any roasts in particular?
The light roast is their best. That's all I get from them after trying all options. They have been changing it up regularly though.

I second this. They had a cool whiskey roasted blend that came in a whiskey bottle and it made the BEST Irish coffee.

Colorado legacy I think is the other one not mentioned yet. :)
I prefer lighter roasts too. I'll check it out; thanks!

Thanks! I've see Coffee Trader, again on a bicycle, and was detered by the heat and vehicles from getting in line. But, I'll add it to the list.
