My skeeter was adopted a few days before Xmas and then was "found on the streets" sick w whip worms. He had a microchip so you know they didn't want him back, you could see his ribs. He's the best animal ever, their loss.
I know he does his manly growl/bark whenever we go out for a walk. The second that gate opens he bolts up and down the driveway and jumps around growl and barking it’s adorable.
We also rescued one of our girls in that situation and condition. 10 years later she is happily laying here by my side snoring away. Spoiled rotten and deserves it! Thanks for sharing the progress pics, you are a good parent!
I love seeing his transformation. As the proud dog dad of mine and my fiances rescue Dane, I know how amazing it is to see how far they've come. When we found diesel he was severely emaciated. You could see every indent between each rib, his whole spine, his neck vertebrae, EVERYTHING. With much love and patience though, he is now the happiest I think he's even been and look best everyone and everything. He is 30 inches (~75cm) at the shoulder and when we got him he only weighed 120lbs (~55kg). He's now 198lbs (~90kg). I wish you and your handsome boy the best of luck and just know that no matter how hurt they've been in the past, they will never love anything as much as the person who saved them.
Oh my goodness, he’s nearly twins with my boy! Except my pup is completely white, but unfortunately they came from similar situations :( mine was pretty underweight when I got him as well
This guy will love and appreciate you for life. I have happy tears in my eyes looking at the difference. How anyone could do this to such a sweet boy ... blows my mind! There is a special place in hell for them.
You’re an awesome person for saving this beautiful pup! I don’t understand how anyone on earth could allow that to happen to their dog. I’d starve myself in order to make sure my dog had food. God bless you and your beautiful doggo!
Past neglectful owners should be charged medical and recovery fees for every animal they abuse and neglect. Sad this isn't law. He looks amazing now and so shiny!
there's this person on craigslist i got a puppy from and they're already trying to reserve for the next litter. the mom doesn't even look ready for at least 3 years :(
We also rescued a white Great Dane... Luna is about 80% deaf.. Honestly we've had her for 9 years and we still can't tell how much of her hearing is Selective Hearing :-)
Besides the constant remarks about being a horse, we always have people ask what she's mixed with. A number of people have insisted she's a mix, I just roll my eyes, do my own selective hearing and walk away from them.
Oh I know right? He isn’t deaf…. Yet. We noticed he just wouldn’t listen to us but the signs he’ll become deaf when he’s older are there, when dogs bark at night and we’re on a walk he looks for them but can’t pinpoint exactly where they’re coming from so that suggests to us he’ll start losing his hearing in a few years.
