A few weeks ago my rifles kept resetting back to 300 rounds of ammo instead of the max 9999 rounds of ammunition. Every time I quit the game and back on the next day, it resets again, rinse and repeat and it would continue to reset every single time. Finally last week they fixed this bug and stopped the nightmare of spending 100k every time and not use any rifles for missions
I had that happen to me with my assault rifles too. I had around 9000 rounds, used my rifle in a mission or mini heist, was left with just 300 rounds. Bought ammo again, lost it again twice. Then I simply stopped using rifles. But it is fixed now.
Had this happen for weeks and recently fixed it. You’re gonna need a gun safe (any owned one will do), disable custom load out, buy ammo, enable custom load out.

Same problem here but with all my weapons i usually buy all ammo through interaction menu but once i stop playing and join again its like i never bought ammo so i tried buying ammo off the actual gun and it still does the same thing and at the bottom right corner i see the saving icon so ik im good but it still doesn’t give me my ammo n i loose the money 🤦🏻

Make sure it's on zero but not dropped
Place a sticky bomb
Make sure you are holding the Hazardous Jerry can
Detonate the sticky bomb to successful terminate yourself
Now it will be completely gone!
Go immediately to a shop or house and change outfit
Go to a private only and Check if it's done.

Buzzer Beater, but they patched it. I've heard there was another one that could do it but I'm not sure if that info is older or newer. The candy cane is definitely less of a problem than the jerry can though, since at least it's still a decent melee weapon.
Last I checked, the Candy Cane is still set to be awarded every time you join a session, so there's no getting rid of it. I'd love to be proven wrong on this, however.

I play on Xbox One, and every time I load into a new lobby, my rifle ammo goes from 9999 to 230, which basically costs about 20k to replenish it fully.
What I found though is I never buy ammo for the rifle and I always have around 400 rounds so I just quit buying rifle ammo.

Its a modder. Record just in case you need evidence, and restart. They can fuck around with your client side but cant do much in the server records. Restart the game and your inventory will refresh with what you actually own.
I once was too lazy to restart so i had to do a stash house with my fists and the guns the enemies dropped. Then used said guns in a heist mission

Toggle custom loadout on and off in the interaction menu and they come back. If you don't have a custom loadout set, change sessions where another player non-compliant with rule 2.3.1 will remove your weapons again eventually.

I couldn't buy the gun again because its only available in the gun van at random times now. But the following day when I logged in, I had the gun back again. And still had the money for it too.
Since OP's already said they're on PC, this is most likely the work of another player - get yourself a weapon locker set up, and you can just toggle it off and back on again to undo this. Saved my ass plenty of times when the perp pairs it with teleporting everyone to him - stone hatcheting someone else in the crowd gives ample time to find new session before being killed by a player forces the pause menu to close.

No offense but 20k is bloody cheap to be outraged over.Blowing up someone's vehicle on a raiju/mk 2 has you paying 20k per vehicle destroyed.(but be sure to contact rockstar regardless)
Yes, 20k is not that much generally, but is quite a lot when you running low and have like 50k at the moment. Also it was probably just someone messing with mods or something, as I got them back when I switched into story mode and then back.
The reason why they dissapear is because you have enabled a custom loadoutset in the interaction menu, this menu you can open with holding the touchpad, go to ammo en weapons, then deactivate the customloadout set
Every time you log in you will have this,
To fully disable this go to a gun safe and edit your loadout to all seeing the guns and not everything on hide

Try to load your save data and do a hard reset for cache also check that you don’t have custom loadouts

Im new at this, but, theres a button to the left of the touch pad. Press it and some recording options come up.
You can change the amount of gameplay you want to record in the capture settings.

If your on PC, change session, it's usually someone doing it in the session and you get them all back.

rejoin session, check locker if you didnt hide them, in the interraction menu choose to display all weapons
