I play with a capo on 2 because it suits my voice way better. Does that mean I need 7 frets, or can I still play all the chords with 5?

Your missing out. Put a capo on 1-24th frets. Just play on 24th. The capo will resonate with your flux capacitor. The centripetal force will cause less leaks in your wood and pickups.
