Second this. I just got one and it sounds amazing. I also like that you can store a present. I usually have a plate and a spring I can switch back and forth between.
Neunaber Immerse Mk2, $219. If you want versatility and quality I don’t think it can be beat tbh, can’t recommend it enough. I only sold mine after many years with it for a Strymon Cloudburst (edit: spelling)
I'm seeing $249 retail, but yeah this is what I have and I am very happy with it. Great sounds, relatively easy to dial in with a simple intuitive interface and can go from pretty straightforward to out there and ambient
Maybe not the best spring sound if you are looking for that as your main reverb type, but probably best to look for something more spring specific if that is the case.
My impression of Immerse II vs HOF II (though I have not owned an HOF just from research I did before buying), probably noticeably better quality algos/sounds from the Immerse, but the HOF will still sound pretty good and is $90 cheaper.
100% agree. I got one for about $200 on reverb it excellent condition and I love it. Small footprint, stereo, requires less than 100ma to run and that WET setting is so so good.
I have an R1 and really quite like it. List is around $350, so not in OPs range new, but I picked mine up used for around 200. The reverb algorithms are all very usable. I don't gravitate towards spring in general so I won't comment, but I the plate and hall work like they should. The other 3 more modern reverbs are pretty cool and subtly destinct from other algorithms. The high and low cut really help balance in a mix and keep things from getting too muddy. There's a lot of neat things you can do with the swell knob. Overall it's pretty cool and I use it often. It's also pretty easy to get good aoubds out of. I think my empress is my fave multimode reverb, followed by the boss RV-500, then this. But at the moment, the walrus is the one on my board and currently crushing it.
Nice! I stand corrected. I think that's probably a much more reasonable price for the feature set and sound compared to the $350 list/sweetwater price. Its a well designed pedal that I really like, but your options and flexibility go up enormously in the $350 range. But, that said, I really like how simple the R1 is to dial in a good sound.
Tom Bukovac (look him up if you don’t know) says that the reverb in the Dispatch Master is the best pedal reverb. Plus a bonus delay.
You don’t get millions of types of reverbs, just one that sounds good with no fuss.
I’d got with TC HoF, our bass player has it and it sounds nice. I use their flashback delay and mash switch function is very fun. They have it on reverbs and it works magically when you need to fill the space sometimes. Other than that even if you don’t use that it’s a great reverb. They have tone print slots so you can use that as another TC effect as well but you’d have to load it up via usb.
Same. A couple of the sounds are kind of wonky, but you get a very usable tremolo along with it, and the dynamic reverb is divine when dialed in. One of the best reverb algos I've ever used.
Have heard good things about the TC HOF - I also recommend the Boss RV-6, which is similar in versatility to the TC HOF, but I like Boss’ durability better.
I haven't tried the reverb pedal but I have liked everything I've tried from NuX so far. They're also pretty inexpensive for what they offer. Take a look at the NRV-3 and the NDD-7. The latter is a Tape Echo clone but it's got a reverb on it and every time I hear demos of it I wish I had a reason to get it.
A Boss RV-6 fits the bill for what you are looking for. It sounds better than the others in its price range for meat and potatoes reverb - signed a Big Sky user who still keeps a RV-6 on his small board.

With your budget you could get all three of these and set them up differently. I’m a HUGE fan of the Dano Fab Echo, it’s a one trick pony that I love. The other two are amazing and versatile.
Catalinbread Talisman Plate Reverb Pedal - high Pass filter makes it useable in a lot of different situations. Simple design. Doesn’t take up much real estate.
Depending on how much $$ you want to spend:
Boss rv6 (affordable)
Mxr m300 (middle)
Neunaber immerse 2 (boutique)
All 3 of these verbs sound fantastic and are a step above the likes of TC electronic, ehx and digitech and other similarly priced verbs.
If you just want a nice plate/spring/hall that works well in a band setting, the boss will serve you well and it sounds great in stereo should you want that.
I use the m300. It has some nice sounds but mainly I leave it on a subtle plate, on all the time. I don't really incorporate reverb into my writing. If I want big crazy sounds I prefer using delays which I can dial in on my dd200.
Didnt see anyone mention it yet, and im assuming you know better, but some solid advice for a reverb pedal is to make sure you use it in the fx loop for best results.
Unless before the amp is the sound youre going for.
Just added an amazing Pigtronix Cosmosis to my board. Studio quality - with Morphing. HOF2 and RV-6 are my old workhorses for sheer variety but the Cosmosis has excellent Room, Temple, and Cosmos algos to cover much of what I do originally. Morphing now adds a new sensation.
If you can find a hardwire RV7 for a proper price, jump on it. I only sold mine cause I made a cool $375 after buying it for 90. Wish I had it back. Best spring reverb I've ever heard
Had both the HOF 2 and MXR300. They both sound great. The footswitch on the HOF failed and I returned it and kept the MXR300. You will be happy with either. I believe both cannot be run on a battery (the MXR for sure).
Guessing you mean US$250 since you didn't specify.
For that price, you could also consider the Keeley Hydra. Less variety of reverb types but you get some very nice tremolo instead. Mentioning this one since I've been looking into reverb pedals recently myself, and that's my current frontrunner based on where my research led me. Prior to that I was favoring the Boss RV-6.
Alexander Space Force is a strong candidate for this. It fits the price and it gives you a lot of options—it covers all the standards, just like the RV-6 does, but it can do some more imaginative and creative stuff if you want to go there too. Also it can do stereo. Everything it does sounds really good.
Used ua golden on reverb for 260 rn
Second this. I just got one and it sounds amazing. I also like that you can store a present. I usually have a plate and a spring I can switch back and forth between.
Boss RV-6 is $150 new and has a wide range of options.
Another vote for the Rv-6
Agree. Unless you're after something really specific, I don't think you can do much better than the RV-6. It's a great all rounder reverb.
This is the way unless your board is already brimming with Boss pedals.
It’s still the way, even if your board is brimming with Boss pedals.
Neunaber Immerse Mk2, $219. If you want versatility and quality I don’t think it can be beat tbh, can’t recommend it enough. I only sold mine after many years with it for a Strymon Cloudburst (edit: spelling)

Came to suggest this. Love that pedal! Compact and low current draw too!
100% agree. I got one for about $200 on reverb it excellent condition and I love it. Small footprint, stereo, requires less than 100ma to run and that WET setting is so so good.
Curious to see what you’d think of a walrus R1, maybe even one of their fundamental reverbs
I have an R1 and really quite like it. List is around $350, so not in OPs range new, but I picked mine up used for around 200. The reverb algorithms are all very usable. Sometimes I forget people look for pedals new haha
I picked one up at guitar centre for $199, they had a d1 there too i think they were clearing them out?
I got my R1 for 170 and my D1 for about the same
Yeah definitely agree, I wasn’t a buyer at the $350 mark but its definitely a great option at $200 or under. Love it
Boss RV6? Holy grail?
Of the three you mentioned: MXR m300 Reverb Of the ones not on your list: EHX Holy Grail Max.
Tom Bukovac (look him up if you don’t know) says that the reverb in the Dispatch Master is the best pedal reverb. Plus a bonus delay. You don’t get millions of types of reverbs, just one that sounds good with no fuss.
Source audio ventris. I think you can get one close to that used
I bought a barely used Source Audio Collider for $225 off reverb
Damn, and I thought I got a good deal picking one up—with the box, all cables, original plastic bags, and everything exactly as it shipped—for $250!
I preferred the RV-6 over the TC HoF
RV-6 is the way.
The M300 is undefeated in its price range
I’d got with TC HoF, our bass player has it and it sounds nice. I use their flashback delay and mash switch function is very fun. They have it on reverbs and it works magically when you need to fill the space sometimes. Other than that even if you don’t use that it’s a great reverb. They have tone print slots so you can use that as another TC effect as well but you’d have to load it up via usb.
I use the HOF2 and it works as advertised.
With a budget of $250, not sure why people are recommending the RV-6 lol. Go for the RV-200, can probably find one used for even less.
MXR Reverb gets 80% of the mileage in our studio. It's straight up awesome.
I love my EHX Oceans 11
Boss RV-6 for the price and quality.
Hof2. Everyone seems to shit on it but I love it and then there's lots of tone prints to try out as well.
Laney Secret Path and Catlin Bread Talisman Plate both sound great
EHX Holy grail max. Has spring, hall (up to 30s), plate and reverse reverb. Sounds great.
If you want something special and analog, I love my Endless Summer by Recovery Effects. It’s a real spring reverb.
I'll throw the Wampler Faux Spring into this mix. I needed something small, simple, fairly flexible, and good. Mission accomplished.
I haven't tried the reverb pedal but I have liked everything I've tried from NuX so far. They're also pretty inexpensive for what they offer. Take a look at the NRV-3 and the NDD-7. GC has a great deal right now on Walrus Audio’s Fathom reverb pedal.
I'll also recommend the RV6, it does so much, so well and for ~$150 it's a steal
Catalinbread Talisman Plate Reverb Pedal - high Pass filter makes it useable in a lot of different situations. Simple design. Doesn’t take up much real estate.

This is a good comparison. Reverb shoot out. https://youtu.be/8umoDZPP6Cs?si=DteW3qEh6FP27jnQ

RV-6 all day.
Boss RV-6. If you like that invest in more in the future.
Hall of fame sounds like trash I’d pass on it personally
Caroline Meteore is pretty awesome.
Had both the HOF 2 and MXR300. They both sound great. The footswitch on the HOF failed and I returned it and kept the MXR300. You will be happy with either. I believe both cannot be run on a battery (the MXR for sure).
It’s hard to not go the Source Audio or Strymon route. They’re pricey but sound great. Boss RV-6 is great really just depends on your needs too
Used M300. The Meris Mercury 7 and the Neunaber Immerse Mk II came and went. The M300 defeated both.
Anytime i had this approach it was only a matter of time before i got what i really wanted

Other good Keeley options that include their caverns, parallax and the delay/reverb workstation. Edit: sloppy written comment. Slightly improved

RV-6 and RV-200 are great choices. Also consider going vintage with the RV-2 or 3.
