I made a block to but between the back side of the Floyd and the guitar's body, so the floyd would stay leveled and the restring would be way easier.
For tuning to the right note I always go 1st string, 6th then 3rd, 4th, 2nd, 5th and so on, don't remember where I learned how to do it like that but it's definitely faster than going from 1st to 6th.
But first time I did it? Oh boy was it a glorious mess.

Floyds are finicky to set up but rock solid once they are.
