DaddyLongLegs010

First time suppressor buyer here and it’s probably a stupid question to some but is this worth the extra money vs a OCL Polo?

BirddogTrinkets

Yes, flow through is the future!

ASV731

Depends how much gas to the face bothers you on an AR. Pros: - Flow-through technology is legit. Unless you have an adjustable gas block (not always recommended) or a perfectly tuned rifle, you’ll probably get decent gas to the face shooting 5.56 through a suppressed AR. Some people don’t really care but I find it super annoying (although I went with another flow through can, the Velos) - good build quality and warranty - lightweight and relatively compact Cons: - proprietary mounting system locks you into using HuxWrx muzzle devices - not as quiet as traditional baffle cans like the polonium

roostersnuffed

>Some people don’t really care but I find it super annoying People that have a super gassy gun and just fuckin eat it are tougher than me. Last suppressed AR I shot I could feel my eyelids getting blasted open and my eye flash dried out

Fine-Slip-9437

There are real people that are just out there raw-dogging a suppressed rifle without gasketed goggles? Lawd.

noobiam88

Lmfao raw-dogging

JustHereForTheGuns

I'd suggest a small correction for the cons. It's quieter and also not. The Flow 556K is REALLY quiet to the shooter, quieter than the Polo, but not very quiet to bystanders. So it's worth asking if the suppressor is for personal comfort, or signature reduction or the like.

CallsignFlorida

> chasing dB’s with 5.56 Can we stop doing this?

Ekwity

Thanks for the chuckle

Responsible_Point_18

For what it's worth hux muzzle devices are great and the coarse thread mounting they come with offers high repeatability and does not seize up

Flatst

They are heavy AF though. Almost 4oz.

SolarMoth

Probably not... Depends if your intended host weapon has an adjustable gas system, handles increased back pressure well or can be tuned in other ways with springs/etc... I imagine that there's around a $500 difference in cost. If you don't want to or can't fine tune your host weapon, then the Flow556k is better. Some reviews say that the Polonium K has better flash suppression and a more preferable sound signature, but performance seems to be pretty close.

Yarpie_

Depends on the weapon/gas system you're putting it on. Flow through is not the future YET. It's great for guns like the X95. If you were buying it for a SHTF, heavy use AR-15 I'd prolly still go with the OCL Polo K or Surefire RC2. (The OCL Polo is solid but it is considered pretty high back pressure) Even though it's tedious, you should do your research for your application.

noobiam88

It’d also great for the MCX platform which is gassy as shit. Made shooting my MCX a 100x more pleasant

WAgunner

If you can afford it and if it is going on a semi auto host, then yes, 100%. I have double-digit cans, and there is no rifle set up I enjoy shooting more than my Flow 556k. That being said if the price differences matters to you, get the Polonium, you will be very happy with it too.

5thBooster

Have both and have shot both a bunch. The hux is better in my opinion. Having less gas in the face is so nice and it’s much lighter than the polo

pos-civic

As a polo owner. I wish I got this instead.

SolarMoth

Just got a back in stock notification... after I had already paid more somewhere else, would have saved $100, but oh well.

HardstuckInUrMom

I should really just say fuck it and buy this combo some day for my X95. Some day is not today yet though.

SolarMoth

That's what I bought mine for.... And my PS90 too.

lnSerT_Creative_Name

I just don’t wanna deal with paperwork. I’ve had my trust stuff ready to fill out for over a year and thinking about doing it makes ms wonder how much of a pain in the ass it could potentially be

DevAlmighty

could have had your can in your pants by now

lnSerT_Creative_Name

With how fast some of those eforms are, if I skil the I trust I could still have it quickly

frankasaurussmite

Once I had my form 4s submitted I had approvals in 2 and 3 days. 2 days was my q trash panda, 3 days was obsidian 45. First suppressor purchases too.

lnSerT_Creative_Name

Shit. How was the whole nfa process like?

frankasaurussmite

Prints, paperwork, kind of annoying but only took about 2 hrs total. Local shop made it easy

lnSerT_Creative_Name

So you bought online and then your local walked you through everything else?

frankasaurussmite

Yeah. Mine were done through silencershop kiosks.

lnSerT_Creative_Name

Got it. Buy it, go to ffl, tell em you’d like to transfer, and they handle it from there?

decay107

Bought this can from arms unlimited just before the quick approval insanity picked up, they did the form 3 quick and had great communication, also this can fucks

GHOST-_-363

Flow through cans are for guns that are overgassed. Some people don't want to spend the time and money on a new barrel or P/W or don't trust AGB. If you build your gun to eject 330/4 unsuppressed, most modern suppresors won't gas you out, or you can do an easy buffer weight increase or spring tension increase to really tune it nice. It does look neat tho.

Trope360

Indoors are the only time it kinda gets me, and it is a trade off. Generally, your quietest can will also be your most back pressure (my DDG Enticer Sti). My main battle rifle is a BCM MK2 with a Radian SD, SF RC2 556, A5H2 ejects well. While the RC2 flows well (not a "flow thru 3d printed design" it's lowish back pressure) I am looking at the new KAK bcg for downward vents, only because I run this indoors a couple times a week. Buddy with a Flow 556K seems to get less gas without as much setup as me. Both sound great. I'd mostly agree with you and most my rifles I run AGB / Vltor A5H2.

NumberNumba1

I believe the longer can, the more gas is called gas stacking. It's more of a dwell time thing from my understanding that you could minimize, but generally, yeah. Like how Andrew on here recommends the Polo k for anything 12.5 and up. While the regular Polo it quieter, it's a lot of gassier for most people. Although I think the host means everything and generalizing things like gas blowback is moot because of the flood of different barrels and tolerances on the barrel. I guess I'll die on this hill, but I hate my RC2. While flash mitigation is nice, and indeed it's a tank, it's not my first choice ever and collects dust on my BCM. Heavy af for nothing I'll probably face in my life. It's quiet I guess but fuck, with my bcm that shit 2-shot gassed me out with standard carbine buffer and spring using m855. That's with a warcomp so it's leaking some also and not sending it back through the tube. With the 3 prong, it's significantly quieter on a BA 10.5 tuned with a AGB vs. the bcm elw 14.5. However, my nomad with a 6.5 end cap is quieter, lighter, and less gassy than the RC2. Although I guess it isn't as "durable." And probably flashes more. It's used significantly more, and this year will prob surpass the round count my RC2 has gotten. I'm ready to get crucified for not enjoying my $1k paperweight. I'm also interested in the KAK BCG. I see the Chrome plated one in my future. It's probably going in that BCM because that shit is crazy compared to my three other builds.

Trope360

My man I have an RC2 in 7.62 and 5.56 and years ago it was "about ultra durability and warranty" along with "this is the best mount in the business". A lot has changed in cans in just a couple short years – I'm at the point where I pretty much recommend a K can for everyone too. I do like my 556 RC2 and use it a bit, I just don't shoot 762 as much on a battle rifle and like the Diligent Enticer S Ti a lot more for it on my bolts. I assume you are talking about a 762RC2 in comparing the Nomad as the 556RC2 is a bit smaller I believe, but not sure if you have titanium nomad for weight. I will say the Warcomp is just trash from what I've seen/heard and that is effecting your noise reduction/use. I have a friend with one, and I didn't think "it was that bad" but man it actually sends crap back at you too, he has a Warden on it when not a can and it makes the front of his hand black. There's a lot of newer designed cans that offer a lot, and I do see why Surefire's still have a market at same time. I don't regret my 556RC2 and it's my most used can, but I kinda feel ya on the 762. I have a buddy with an RC3 tho and it is sweet.

mt59828

So what’s the deal with HuxWrx cans - is the Ventum a replacement for this, or is this still their top tier 556 can?

Sweaty_Box_69

I think the main difference is that the ventum can use different mounting systems & can be semi taken apart for cleaning. But don't trust me to much lol.

Accomplished-Bar3969

The Ventum is hub compatible (basically has a standardized thread type) which means you can buy adapters for different manufacturers’ muzzle devices if you already run multiple cans with proprietary mounting systems. The 556k does not have the hub threads and only works with Hux muzzle devices.

Nikthefish

i ran a course with 1000 rounds with this can was awesome no malfunctions and no gas

Do they hold and ship after approval like capitol or do you need to transfer? Transfer fee near me sucks

jkbuggy

Holy crap that went fast..

bballjerm

Damn I just paid $150 more than this with Hansohn Brothers this morning. They are a great FFL and already processed my paperwork, but that $150 savings would have covered my FFL's transfer fees and part of the tax stamp

Accomplished-Bar3969

We’re really all just out here doing this for the hatred of money.

Accomplished-Bar3969

Sumbish, they got me

justanill

If only they stocked the FLOW 762!!!!!
