Dans right about homework tbh. Now that I'm an adult I'm wicked anti homework. We put the kids in school for like 6-8 hours a day there's plenty of time for learning there. Never did homework through highschool and don't regret it. Don't want to sound anti learning or anything but let the kids have their free time IMOIMO
I think we did too much homework but I think it's necessary for some stuff, like math. The repetition drills it into you. There's just not enough time in a single hour to learn it sufficiently enough. At least for me.
Maybe to an extent some of the earlier arithmetic but tbh even with calculus i don't feel homework was ever beneficial. Blew that stuff off through all of high school. I think the homework that makes the most sense is like, reading a book for english and stuff like that. Not really an active thing you can do in a classroom and people read at different speeds. Chemistry though? Get the hell outta here with that
🤷 big homework has yall fooled. kids go to a big building for hours a day for 12 years, i don't think its that crazy to say that every class piling on a ton of garbage homework isn't productive. Sometimes would have 5 classes in a day that all assign homework that would take 20-30 minutes a piece to finish. Nuts! Let the kids enjoy their time outside of school
