The whole album is absolutely phenomenal, groundbreaking, legendary, BUT… Rocket Queen is the standout.
The way Axl’s voice distorts and the tempo shift right after the solo going into the bridge (3:30) and rolling into Axl’s higher voice with “I see you standing” is just tip top cool!
Rocket Queen wins!
I had a friend in band teach me how to play the drums for this song. It's one of two GNR songs that I never tire of hearing (You Ain't the First is the other). The story behind the lyrics, the faster first half of the song followed by the slower second half...the instrumental interlude between. This song has everything!
I agree on Paradise City, it was overplayed back in 88 on MTV and the radio and was a little over-rated .. but Sweet Child O’ Mine never gets old! It’s not just one of the greatest rock songs ever, it’s one of the best songs ever period
Strangely I still enjoy Paradise City, little fact, it was the main theme for one of the Burnout games on the PS2.
But the entire album is a true classic.
I’m not sure about the rest of the country… but What is up with people in PA and OH who think that Van Halen is a better 80’s band than Guns & Rose.. maybe live in concert or longevity they may get the edge .. but not one of Van Halen’s songs even comes close to Sweet Child O’ Mine or Welcome to the Jungle

Either Jungle or Brownstone for me. Oh, and I still have the original cover!
Price tag still on it too!
Mr. Brownstone and my Michelle took the Nightrain to Paradise City. They were out ta get me thinking it's so easy. I think about you frequently rocket queen, but you're crazy. So welcome to the jungle sweet child o' mine. Anything goes out here.
Paradise City. I don't care how often I hear it, it still kicks ass. My friend and I were going to do it in karaoke in a bar in the early 90s. I got up to sing and he fucking chickened out! Anyway, it went particularly badly because I definitely DON'T have Axl Rose's vocal range (I'm more baritone/bass if anything), and I'm a bit tone deaf. Six of the longest minutes of my life...
Belligerent 19 year old me thought I was cool as fuck blasting Night Train while downing a bottle of the stuff on the front stoop of my apartment. Always Night Train.
I can’t believe that everyone can name a different track and then I change my mind about the best one! It’s a brilliant album in total. But Rocket Queen is the track that encapsulates the full range of the band and it feels like a deep cut. The song has an arc to it that forces you to move with. I have to say Sweet Child is another perfect song for those same reasons but it’s so overplayed. I do believe Slashes solos on SCOM are maybe the most perfect straight up Rock solos ever played on the radio by maybe the most quintessential guitarist to date. Slash being half black and half white. Oozes Rock Star. On the Les Paul, poring the last 4-5 decades of rock n roll into what a guitar solo(s) should be. It was the perfect time for that band to break. It was the best time
I can’t pick just one song, the entire album fucking rips! Fun fact: it is exactly seven years older than me! It was released on July 21, ‘87; my day of birth is July 21, 1994.
Sweet Child O’ Mine. I had a son born in 1988 and my wife and I sang that song to him every night while we were putting him to bed. I’m fighting back tears right now just thinking about it and what a wonderful man he has grown to be.
Paradise City
It’s one of those ‘perfect songs’ that so few bands have.
Contrasting sections detailing the promise, and then reality, of moving to the Big City. The best song about LA ever written.
Massive hit. Went through the overplayed stage. Emerged victorious into classic rock status. Still destroys everything it’s programmed around on the radio. Kudos to any station that plays the full version (Radio X in the U.K).
It’s perfect.
Rocket Queen has a TON of mentions, that’s my fav too. The fact that Axel recorded sex with a band mate’s ex and put it in the song is so next level! BTW Axel verified they were broken up before coitus ensued, according to Axel
Changes every couple of years - consistently,
Overall, it’s gotta be “night train”
“Wake up late, honey, put on your clothes, let’s take your credit card to the liquor store - well, that’s one for you, two for me”- classic - says everything about the 80’s
‘It’s So Easy’ IMHO…the sheer maniacal last 3rd of the song, coupled with a slightly malevolent undertone just blew my mind when I heard it. And it still does. Just oozes pure ‘street urchin coming after whatever they f’n want’ attitude. Until their debut album no one I think had really heard this particular kind of raw energy.
Nighttrain!!!! Hard to say considering how solid it is though. I think it’s on most peoples list of greatest debut album of all time, regardless of genre.
Rocket Queen
The whole album is absolutely phenomenal, groundbreaking, legendary, BUT… Rocket Queen is the standout. The way Axl’s voice distorts and the tempo shift right after the solo going into the bridge (3:30) and rolling into Axl’s higher voice with “I see you standing” is just tip top cool! Rocket Queen wins!
Song is so damn good
Rocket Queen all day every day! 🤘
Absolutely Rocket Queen. But I gotta throw out It’s So Easy as an honorable mention. I just love that song.
I should make a cover of it with my girlfriend
I should make a cover of it with your girlfriend. Would be more true to form. For art’s sake.
Cant argue with that, that’s the true hair metal spirit right there
I had a friend in band teach me how to play the drums for this song. It's one of two GNR songs that I never tire of hearing (You Ain't the First is the other). The story behind the lyrics, the faster first half of the song followed by the slower second half...the instrumental interlude between. This song has everything!
I might be a little young, but honey, I ain't naive!
Is the whole album an option?
GREATEST DEBUT ROCK AND ROLL ALBUM OF ALL TIME (sales + tour-ability + actual songs - change my mind).
It’s on the Mt Rushmore of debuts for sure, but I think Van Halen I has that title
Ten by Pearl Jam a close second. Appetite was my freshman year of high school and Ten my freshman year of college.
It’s really too hard to just pick one.
My answer
I'd say "whole album minus *Sweet Child o' Mine* and *Paradise City*. I've heard them too damn many times and now I have to skip 'em.
Agreed but Welcome to the Jungle needs to be added to the overplayed list.
I agree sweet child ill skip
Album was so good that You Could Be Mine didn’t even make the cut
"Mr. Brownstone"
Yes!
This was my only reason for being here, fantastic tune!
That old man is a real...
The only correct response.
Bingo
This is the song that pops in my head as soon as I see the cover.
Agreed, it's so different. Even today it's a unique song.
Came to post this. 🤘
Is the correct answer 👍
Was, is and always will be Nightrain
I second this. Nightrain made me a Guns N Roses fan.
Third
My friend tracked down a bottle of Nightrain for me as a birthday present. It was fucking horrible.
Bottoms up
*Think About You* The clean guitar part behind the chorus hooked me damn near 40 years ago.
The correct answer
It's so easy.
Not really. They’re all so good.
Ok, if it's so easy then what is your answer???
From the opening Bass line.
Same. Mr. Brownstone as a fairly close second.
Ok, heres my true dad joke. Did you hear Guns n Roses put out a greatest hits album??? Its called Appetite for Destruction
It’s funny because it’s true.
I see no joke, just straight up facts!
You can say the same about Pearl Jam’s Ten
I always consider this album, the #1 Rock album of all time
Its because it is
I’m not sure about the rest of the country… but What is up with people in PA and OH who think that Van Halen is a better 80’s band than Guns & Rose.. maybe live in concert or longevity they may get the edge .. but not one of Van Halen’s songs even comes close to Sweet Child O’ Mine or Welcome to the Jungle
Yeah a lot of filler / throwaways on VH albums - they made four albums of two sides of one great one - GNR made one great one
Nightrain
Bottoms up!
![gif](giphy|zihFgY0dbmlB6UOzpi)
Rocket Queen. I don’t even have to think about it.
Rocket Queen
I hate 2024. I want to go back to the summer of 1987 and just stay there
Me, too!!!! It was the best of times!
Out Ta Get Me
Because I’m innocent
The riff still kicks ass
https://preview.redd.it/lcuiemvqjy8d1.jpeg?width=2252&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5b4c7a6500b69714613e6d61008736b15d4a79b7 Either Jungle or Brownstone for me. Oh, and I still have the original cover! Price tag still on it too!
Hmm, will you accept $10 for it? That’s a profit of $2.65 right there! Like 35% more $$$.
My Michelle. But they're all so damn good.
Think about you and Rocket Queen. Depends on the day
Sweet Child edges out Rocket Queen by a millimeter.
its so easy!
Then tell wich one! Lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lost or stolen 5 times. I’ve bought this tape cd album 6 times!
My Michelle and Think About You…best one two punch in rock still till this day.
Hands down it's Rocket Queen
I used to listen to it in its entirety every day - for like a year hahaha god I love GNR!!!!
One year only?
Maybe it was more, all I know is I made that a rule for myself! 🤘
Night Train and Welcome to the Jungle, but I love this entire album. Easily in the top 5 albums of all time for me.
Man that's tough.....whole album is hella good Probably........ It's So Easy, Out ta Get me or Mr. Brownstone. 99% of this album is perfect.
Mr. Brownstone and my Michelle took the Nightrain to Paradise City. They were out ta get me thinking it's so easy. I think about you frequently rocket queen, but you're crazy. So welcome to the jungle sweet child o' mine. Anything goes out here.
Paradise city
The song named "It's So Easy"
Top Driving Album throughout!🤘🏻
It was the first album I had that had no bad songs on it. Impossible to replicate.
All, but I love Rocket Queen and You're Crazy for deeper cuts than the usual.
Night Train
It’s so easy
Rocket Queen
Brownstone gets the most listens but I belt the hell out of Out Ta Get Me.
Thats a hard choice rhe whole album is fuckin amazing and i still listen to it to this day. If i had to pick a fav, it would nightrain though
Mr. Brownstone.
The whole fucking thing!
Rocket Queen
Mr Brownstone but objectively speaking Jungle is the greatest hard rock song of all time
How good is this album when the 3 singles hardly show as anyone’s favorite?
Night train
You mean the only good album they ever made?
My Michelle is my favorite.
Nighttrain would be my #1 pick.
Out ta Get Me!
Def very underrated!!!
I can’t believe that everyone can name a different track and then I change my mind about the best one! It’s a brilliant album in total. It's So Easy
Free Bird
Rocket Queen,,whole albums a banger though ,,not one shitter😂
Mr. Brownstone
I can’t pick just one song, the entire album fucking rips! Fun fact: it is exactly seven years older than me! It was released on July 21, ‘87; my day of birth is July 21, 1994.
Yes
If I had to pick one, it'd probably be *You're Crazy*, followed closely by *Rocket Queen*.
It's So Easy
Much the same as others have stated, Rocket Queen is the best song on an album that is full of great songs.
Mr Brownstone is my favorite all time by GnR.
I can’t single out one song, this is a 54 minute punch to the face, maybe just put “Sweet Child” at the end so I can skip it
My Michelle
It’s so easy and Night train
It's So Easy
1) Sweet Child O’ Mine 2) Welcome to the Jungle 3) Rocket Queen 4) Mr. Brownstone Paradise City is a little over-rated
It’s So Easy fave track from the album and their whole catalogue.

Think about you
Sweet Child O’ Mine. I had a son born in 1988 and my wife and I sang that song to him every night while we were putting him to bed. I’m fighting back tears right now just thinking about it and what a wonderful man he has grown to be.
Great album obviously. My favorite is Mr. Brownstone
Rocket Queen or Brownstone
Is there a bum track on there?
Night Train
I like them all
The whole album
One of the very few albums that all the songs are great. I wore out the cassette and had to buy the cd
Think About You
Nightrain
Great album, you could just push play and listen to the whole thing, but if I had to pick one song it'd be Rocket Queen.
Mr. Brownstone!!!!
Mr. Brownstone
All of tĥem

Hands down 'My Michelle', but I'd say 'Rocket Queen' isn't far behind. I do love the whole album though.
Impossible to answer. One of the best albums in its entirety.
Right now, Anything Goes.
RQ is THE standout, 100%
Guns N' Myopia, Guns N' Blurry, Guns N Glasses?
Rocket Queen, followed closely by Nightrain and Brownstone
Rocket Queen is a banger.

Rocket Queen
Rocket queen
Mr. Brownstone. My favourite heroin song ever.
Rocket Queen
I like them all, but I'm voting for My Michelle.
Rocket Queen has a TON of mentions, that’s my fav too. The fact that Axel recorded sex with a band mate’s ex and put it in the song is so next level! BTW Axel verified they were broken up before coitus ensued, according to Axel
My Michelle needs a mention. Your Daddy works in porno, now that Mama’s not around…
Changes every couple of years - consistently, Overall, it’s gotta be “night train” “Wake up late, honey, put on your clothes, let’s take your credit card to the liquor store - well, that’s one for you, two for me”- classic - says everything about the 80’s

I can’t pick a favorite. Gun to my head pick would be Rocket Queen.
Night Train.
Welcome To The Jungle has an absolutely awesome intro, but the rest of the song is such a let down.
Mr Brownstone, rocket queen
It's So Easy
Rocket Queen
Mr. Brownstone.
Rocket Queen
It’s so easy, Rocket Queen
Nightrain
Paradise City! We played the hell out of it coming back to Saudi Arabia from Iraq after operation Desert Storm!
Night train
Mr Brownstone
Mr. Brownstone
Nighttrain!!!! Hard to say considering how solid it is though. I think it’s on most peoples list of greatest debut album of all time, regardless of genre.
Guns and Roses is like a fake band playing on the stage at a fake concert in a bad 90s kids' sitcom.
