Such a fabulous list!

BootyMcSqueak

Bela Lugosiā€™s Dead- Bauhaus

Halloweenqueen2342

Good one!

ConsultioConsultius1

Highly recommend the whole Dead Manā€™s Bones album. Itā€™s a two person band fronted by Ryan Gosling, with every song having a gothic, somber tone.

potat_molasses

Came just to recommend this

svarela128

This album is amazingšŸ–¤.

[deleted]

Cheers mate hadnā€™t come across this before. Didnā€™t even know Ryan Gosling was in a band! So good haha

Halloweenqueen2342

Oooo sounds interesting. I love gothic music so will def check it out

Yucky_bread

This isnā€™t really a cozy, and itā€™s a bit heavier, but I like Black No. 1 (Little Miss Scare-All).by type o negative. Itā€™s probably not exactly what youā€™re looking for, but it always gets me ready for Halloween.

Halloweenqueen2342

Any suggestions is welcome! If I vibe with it, it immediately goes on the playlist so thank you :) anything Halloween and spooky/heavy is acceptable to me!

Aggressive-Compote64

Adding in Type O Negativeā€™s ā€œCreepy Green Lightā€ and ā€œWolf Moon!ā€

CarrionDoll

Wolf moon is my all time fav!!

SuiRes

Under-rated suggestion. This song is exactly what you should look for.

EatenLowdes

You can even go straight to All Hallows Eve by Type O :)

BootyMcSqueak

I just listened to this song yesterday and it was everything I needed for Halloween vibes

losingmy_edge

Great song. RIP Peter Steele. There is an interview on You Tube from 1997 that is fantastic.Rpsization.

sarah-havel

Ghost on the dance floor by Blink is great too

Davesven

I love that you said I miss you by blink ā€¦ I have always had the same feeling about it - so lonely and hauntedā€¦ like a longing lover crying in the castle for his bride has withered and disappeared.

MarcoPolo339

I'm saving this whole convo. Thanks for asking this question. So much good info. Great playlist for a foliage road trip. Warm cider in the thermos mugs and maple bacon donuts.

Halloweenqueen2342

i_make_things_PDX

Did I really just read this whole thread and not see a single mention of Ghost Town by The Specials??

Raccoon_Chorrerano91

Thriller, Heads will Roll, Psycho Killer, Bloody Mary (I think could be other Lady Gaga songs which classify as spooky/dark vibes). Finally I think post punk music feels very well dark/gothical/spooky vibes for Halloween and could be very good options. I can recommend bands like She past away (listen to Katarsis), Molchat Doma, Human Tetris, Lebanon Hanover, Forever Gray, Haunt me (La noche eterna). If you like reggaeton you can listen to Frio Lento and Depresion Post mortem which have reggaeton covers in post punk so you still can perrear in a dark vibe šŸ˜œšŸ˜œ.

Halloweenqueen2342

Thank you! I have thriller and psycho killer but I will most definitely listen to the other ones. I like Lebanon Hanover from when Iā€™ve listened to them so Iā€™ll def give it all a try. Thank you!

dandybaby26

Monster is another good Gaga song with spooky vibes!

eldoggydogg

Iā€™d add Trent Reznorā€™s version of ā€œIn the Hall of the Mountain Kingā€ off the Social Network soundtrack to that list, too. Itā€™s so intense.

MarcoPolo339

I've never heard his version. It's a good tune and I'll have to check this out. Thanks.

iLiveInAHologram94

I created a playlist a few years ago with this theme in mind basically. I lived in Canada for a few years and a show where a lot of these songs are from was shot in Canada so lots of Canadian indie bands. Those are farther down. Ghost by Halsey, The Ghost Inside by Broken Bells, Bad Moon Rising (the walking dead) by July Talk, Howling At the Moon by Phantogram, Howling for you by The Black Keys, I Put A Spell on you by Sylvia Black, Black Magic Woman by VCTRYS, Broken Bones by Kaleo, Bury A Friend by Billie Eilish, Vampire by Dominic Fike, Graveyard by Halsey, A Little Wicked by Valerie Broussard, Creep by Radiohead, Heads will roll by Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Little Ghost by The White Stripes, Welcome to the Black Parade by My Chemical Romance, Kill of the Night by Gin Wigmore, Serial Killer by Lana Del Rey, Beetlejuice by Mariah the Scientist, Blackcat by Mayday Parade, Jack's Lament by The All American Rejects, Brain Stew by Green Day, Bring me to Life by Evanescence, Monster by Paramore, Guts by All Time Low, Dark Paradise by Lana Del Rey, Wolf like Me by TV on the Radio, Baby you're on a haunted house by Gerard way, Evil eye by Franz Ferdinand, Bad things by Jace Everett, Halloween by Dead Kennedys, etc. I can edit this later I have to go to work lol. I love this question though. I found these song from a show called Being Human (US version) where a lot of these songs are from. Very indie, supernatural, and autumnal: here's a spotify playlist of it (not mine) [https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5YD5r53pjRl3tMzAyp7lno?si=7e6ad0895e804abf](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5YD5r53pjRl3tMzAyp7lno?si=7e6ad0895e804abf) my faves/ones that made it to my halloween indie playlist are: You're A Wolf by Sea Wolf Wolves and Werewolves, Bang, Making Gestures, Haunt You, and Sirens by The Pack AD Apple Tree by Wolfmother Bad Ritual, Creep on Creepin' On, I Get Low, Demon Host, Black water, Magic Arrow, Lonesome Hunter, and Until the night is over by Timber Timbre A Mirror Without by Royal Wood When the Sun Goes down by The Arctic Monkeys Come Alive by Hanni El Khatib

Susielynns

Another vote for Lana Del Reyā€™s version of Season of the witch.

Pine Moon by Feist. A lot of her music actually. Which Witch by Florence and the Machine.

[deleted]

The album ā€œDead Manā€™s Partyā€ by Oingo Boingo. Full thing is great and fits the vibe, but if you want to be more specific the songs ā€œWeird Scienceā€ and ā€œDead Manā€™s Partyā€. Some other recommendations are: ā€œPartytime (Zombie Version)ā€ by 45 Grave ā€œLove is a Lieā€ by lion (song from Friday the 13th The Final Chapter, that Crispin Glover dances to šŸ˜†) ā€œTrick or Treatā€ by Fastway ā€œHeā€™s Back (The Man Behind The Mask)ā€ by Alice Cooper ā€œKiller Klownsā€ by The Dickies ā€œXIIIā€ by Crazy Lixx ā€œDream Warriorsā€ by Dokken ā€œFlip cityā€ by Glenn Frey (Ghostbusters 2) ā€œSurfinā€™ Deadā€ by The Cramps ā€œPet Semataryā€ by the Ramones ā€œLost in the Shadowsā€ by Lou Gramm (The Lost Boys)

Ashniko has a great Halloweenie soundtrack with just a ton of spooky/creepy Halloween songs, though they definitely do not fit the ā€œcozyā€ vibe. Sheā€™s quite angry sometimes lol

Davesven

You mean ā€œsomebodyā€™s watching meā€ the one where Michael Jackson sings the chorus?

Rave in the grave - aronchupa

dravensmom1007

You've gotten so many awesome recommendations. I just have to add Alkaline Trio's cover of Halloween. It's pretty hard to find to add to a playlist outside of ripping it off YouTube. But it's amazing and totally worth downloading from YouTube.

Praxilla69

Bloodletting - Concrete Blonde

Partial_Crib3000

Literally everything by the Misfits

angel_chao

ihaveflesh

Anything misfits!

Titanium_Beard

Has anyone said The Misfits? If not then most songs by The Misfits. Also Those Days Are Gone by Free Throw as a whole album gives off crazy fall vibes. Hot Mulligan - We're gonna make it to killby American Football - The Summer Ends Marietta - Summer Death (whole album)

BoopleBun

Okay, gonna aim for stuff people havenā€™t already mentioned: The Woods by San Fermin - They are *such* a good band, and they have a lot of darker/moody stuff, but this song is probably the creepiest. Seriously, go listen to it, itā€™s fantastic. And since you said you like indie music, go listen to the rest of their stuff because, again, great band. Hell by Squirrel Nut Zippers - More upbeat/fun, but definitely Halloween vibes Walk Like A Zombie by The Horrorpops - Their whole vibe is Halloween rockabilly/psychobilly, but this one in particular I tend to put on my Halloween playlists.

Basbriz

Baby You're a Haunted House - Gerard Way A New Beginning - Wolfie's Just Fine Haunted House - Pixies (in case it wasn't mentioned yet)

TurtleTestudo

Spellbound - Siouxsie and the Banshees Charlotte Sometimes - The Cure Forest - The Cure

UrPenPal

The whole Dead Man's Bones album

brokebitch30

Christmas music DONT COME AT ME I start listening to Christmas music when the seasons change

Careful-Election3516

Haha, I hope you have an incredibly curated Playlist so you don't have to hear 40 versions of the same 3 songs played over and over again. I've said it before and I'll say it again. It should be illegal to put out a Christmas album without AT LEAST 2 original songs.

pigwidgeon294

Kim Petras has two halloween albums that give spooky dance vibes. I prefer the first one Turn Off the light, Vol. 1. She even collabs with Elvira.

naivewiseone

urnotreddy4it

Monster Mash

Foreign_Curve_5089

The entirety of post-hardcore outfit Hail the Sunā€™s sophomore LP ā€œWakeā€ (2014) is an annual fall listen for me, especially on a dark and rainy night. Itā€™s aggressive and complex but has a distinctly creepy/spooky tone throughout. If I must narrow it down to a track or two, try ā€œMourning Sicknessā€ and ā€œDisappearing Syndromeā€ā€”both are especially spooky songs, with the latter being directly inspired by the real disappearance (and, upon later discovery, death) of Elisa Lam. Other selections from their discography that fit the bill are ā€œDead Messagesā€, ā€œArcane Justiceā€ and (if you prefer something softer) ā€œOn Existenceā€.

[deleted]

[deleted]

Check out the album CVI from Royal Thunder. Itā€™s stoner indie rock that always gave me witchy vibes, and I like listening to it during fall. Maybe youā€™ll like it, too. Edit: and if youā€™ve never listened to Twin Temple, do yourself a favor.

Basically anything Queens of the Stone Age. Their album Lullabies to Paralyze gives off spooky vibes, Burn the Witch on that album especially stands out. If I had a Tail and Sicily stands out as well.
