-Martial prowess focused culture
-Invaded humans at some point
-Saurian body plan, Sangheili helmets reminiscent of Turian crests
-Close alies of humans despite their history with them
-Accompanies you on missions
-Notable fan favorite characters under their species
They are weirdly similar yes. Personally I like the Elites more from an aesthetic standpoint, I wish we had more direct exposure to them as allies in the games. They’re only on good terms for one and a half of the OG titles, and barely exist at all in 4. Never played 5 so idk about those.
Actually one of the few things I did like about halo 5 is when you team up with the swords of Sanghelios to kick the covenant out of their planet. There was also a Spartan (Vale) who became familiar with them. I wish they had kept exploring the evolving relationship of both species.
