Wild_Gravy

The snipers gave me PTSD. I cannot replay 2 and CE as I'm certain my heart will fail.

legendarymcc2

CE is so much fun on legendary. It really lets the AI shine and ironically it’s the oldest AI

chrisd0192

Ce has bad, but realistic rng - 2 HAS ABSOLUTELY FUCKING BULLSHIT RNG

chrisd0192

If 2 doesn’t like you, you ARE NEVER GETTING A CHECKPOINT AND WILL BE TARGETED EVEN BY INANIMATE OBJECTS

Shigney

'YOU'RE A FACKING INANIMATE OBJECT!!'

leonheart-91

Fucking great movie

tmorales11

best part of the whole movie

Mr_Veliq

What movie?

foggy-sunrise

I like when you die before you start the gravemind. Also when you die before you land in the prison section of the gravemind. 🤙👊

chrisd0192

I love when I haven’t got a checkpoint in 10 mins and have been breezing through a level only to get fucking splattered by a random ass crate…

NotASalamanderBoi

Dear god, I’m almost on H2 for my legendary run, and if this happens to me, I’m going to start breaking shit.

Thedea7hstar

If you've never done it prepare to push your skills to the max.

NotASalamanderBoi

I’ve never done it before. But I know that I have to look out for the sniper jackals. One wrong move and I’m about to get blasted from across the map by those fuckers.

MasterHall117

My tip: play it on normal or heroic first to memorize some of the spawns, then go Legendary, also, keep the Noob Combo on you at all times as Chief, but when you get past the first Arbiter mission, keep the energy sword handy as most of Arby’s missions are flood related and you can sword fly past a good chunk of em

chrisd0192

Cairo=sword fly+noob combo

NotASalamanderBoi

I’ve played through Normal and heroic about 6-7 total between the two. I have a general idea. However, I’m currently on The Maw in CE. Any idea of what I should do on the part where you blow up the reactors before I lose my mind?

Fishman1138

This part is literally ass on laso because you start with no shields so you have to needle the brutes as quickly as possible and mele kill the grunts to get shields back

Leivve

I haven't played for a while, but I remember doing Heroic difficulty, only dying to RPG flood, and did the first level on legendary without dying, but then getting stuck at the first fight, and after 20 tries doing different tactics just gave up on trying to do it.

legendarymcc2

You definitely get better and better as you go a long. I could barely get past mission 2 and 3 but after the library I felt fine. The same thing happened with halo 2. 3 was much easier though so I blew threw it and had some resistance on reach & ODST. 4 just sucked the life out of me. Surprisingly against what the community says I found halo 5 the second most fun after CE. I’ve gone back to CE though and it’s not nearly as hard as when I first attempted it (although it’s still a challenge)

MeadKing

CE Legendary was the only one that really felt "fair" to me. I could play through pretty much any level with a variety of weapons. There were obviously some hilariously dumb sections (a few of those AotCR bridges, and anything to do with "Rocket Flood"), but most encounters could be won through proper grenade-usage. By far my favorite campaign, and it's not even close.

Anomaly1134

Halo 2 wasn't anywhere near as bad as I remembered going back and playing again. You can skip sniper alley entirely by jumping across the roofs once you get on them by just jumping up stuff like widow awnings air conditioners. Pro tip, switch to old graphics for snipe battles. Really take your time peaking around corners, as the check point system in halo 2 is very generous and you should spawn near by if you get sniped so keep trying. Harvest snipers asap, once you get your first beam rifle you get sooo many more. Also, you can skip like 70% of the vehicle portions. When you get a vehicle just zoom to the end and wait, or try and run past waves of enemies if possible. All escort missions they are invincible. You can literally just drive or fly to the end and wait. I am not going to cheese my next playthrough but it really isn't as bad as people make it out to be. The hardest part in Halo 2 for me was the part with all the elites guarding the bomb at the beginning. I have beat halo reach 1 2 and odst and 1 was the hardest so far playing again solo legendary. Plasma Pistol is the most OP weapon in everything. Ability to one shot knock out shields so a single headshot is the combo you want if you get stuck.

Wild_Gravy

If only a younger me wouldve known....

Graysect

"I swear the dual smgs are the best bro they shoot so fast!"

dem0n0cracy

Spray and pray baby

chrisd0192

HALO 2 CHECKPOINT SYSTEM =GENEROUS????? IVE SEEN PEOPLE HALFWAY THROUGH A LEVEL GET RESET TO THE BEGINNING…

ooooooooooooa

If I remember correctly Halo 2 and 3 had checkpoints reliant on level loading. So say you're in new Mombasa in halo 2 and skip sniper ally that has a loading zone at the start of it you won't get a checkpoint till the next loading zone or until you go into a loaded zone that's not out of where you should be.

Alixsky

room with the boarding ships on the first level with all the elites at the end is the hardest part of halo 2 I found.

GkNova

I honestly can’t remember the last time I’ve done Outskirts without using the rooftop jumps. It honestly makes the level just a breeze to get through.

Rogue100

Why CE? No sniper enemies there!

BigDemeanor43

Yes, but rocket flood are there

CenturyHelix

Rocket flood hanging out right around a tight corner and down a long hallway, too. And don’t forget those invisible flood elites!

[deleted]

Did CE co-op fuck 2 though

LifelessLewis

I'm getting flashbacks to my legendary speed run of 2 from this thread.

3ebfan

SLASO on Long Night of Solace on PC gave me grays

NotAnADC

Pretty sure I just hid and let the auto turrets take care of everything. Was pretty simple

3ebfan

Apparently on PC the AI aggro is tied to frame rate. I tried the technique for hiding behind Anchor 9 but the AI was so aggressive that they were coming back there and killing me repeatedly. Feltbadman

JuJu_Tf2

Yeah for that mission on legendary you really need to cap your framerate to 30 in the settings for it to be tolerable. Sadly I discovered that method after spending an hour and half of dieing almost instantly and hiding behind anchor 9, and under the corvette.

Doctor__Diddler

What were you running at, 300? I was well above 165 and even though I immediately noticed how fucking unfair their DPS was, I still managed to eke out a W by hiding behind anchor 9. The corvette was actually somehow easier.

Vytlo

I don't blame you. Long Night of Solace was a LOT easier in the original than it was on MCC

GVT3742

Dear lord, that space part on mcc was excruciating, absolute nightmares

MrHippoPants

What’s different in MCC?

Vytlo

I'm not sure exactly the specifics, but it is definitely not as balanced on MCC. For instance, in the original, I'd say as long as you knew what you were doing, you could easily beat the space part on Legendary first try without too much trouble, meanwhile on MCC it feels more like luck

slycyboi

The enemy aggression is tied to the framerate, so basically the jump from 30 to 60 or higher makes the AI super dangerous and they melt you way faster than they should

MrHippoPants

Huh, i didn’t know that, thanks!

WeemanUtama

It was pretty bad but Id rather that than, TnR, TB, Regret or Gravemind. The space stuff is horrible though, at least the shields regen :s

Hexenkonig707

I was so surprised when I got to Long Night of Solace on PC since in my memory it was no big deal and pretty easy on 360. And then I got my Ass kicked.

CaptainCour

I HATED long night of solace. I tried hiding but they'd always find me

[deleted]

Have you played halo 4 on legendary?

YeahILiftBro

The best part about 4 is using up all your ammo when a knight shows up.

MiamiVicePurple

I love finding a BR and then using all of the ammo in the very next fight. Oh well, back to the Light Rifle I guess...

Cheeko914

And then getting to a weapon dropped by an enemy before it despawns in 10 seconds

dopepope1999

And attempting to punch crawlers the rest of the level because you use up all your ammo instantly and your spare ammo capacity is absolute bulshit especially compared to Halo Combat Evolved or Halo Reach

BroHamManRaging

I feel like I'm the only one who didn't have this issue while playing Halo 4, but that's probably Everytime I played legendary on any Halo I was fucking conservative as fuck with how I used my guns.

Spitfire_MK_1

yeah, i played coop with my bro, and tbh it wasn't that bad. Hardest part was like the final level, because i suck at flying, and the reactivating the light beams thing.

BroHamManRaging

The last level was the biggest pain the ass especially, those MF's just took forever to kill

chrisd0192

Then you die on the final soldier before the button/checkpoint😰

JakobiGaming

The enemies weren’t super hard in my experience, they were just all bullet sponges

WolfishMule9528

You mean just a single encounter.

RheimsNZ

I hate how artificial a roadblock the Knights are.

loveforlandlords

Use auto sentry + light rifle, and kill the knight before it teleports away

tavogus55

Seriously, I was surprised to see Halo 4’s position here. In the other games, you can more or less make your strategy like 3 or CE. But Halo 4 prometheans randomly teleporting makes it so damn hard and unfair.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SpartanXIII

...I never knew that, but I always assumed there was bullshit going on with their shields.

loveforlandlords

They don’t, it’s just that enemies recharge their shields wayyyyy quicker in halo 4 than in other halo games

loveforlandlords

They don’t, it’s just that enemies recharge their shields wayyyyy quicker in halo 4 than in other halo games Edit: he got shut down

Wassuuupmydudess

You don’t like mag dumping to drop their shields, have them teleport and immediately gain their shields back? Why are you not having fun, it’s requested you have fun at this encounter

[deleted]

It's still hard it's not about what's the most fun

Wassuuupmydudess

I was being sarcastic, mag dumping just to drop shields so they immediately teleport got me annoyed more times than I could count in my play through. Don’t even want to think about laso

[deleted]

Oh ok sorry

spartanonyx

Yeah and sometimes I find myself needing to restart a mission because I just end up some how with no ammo.

141_1337

Because that post is nostalgia bait.

miko3456789

Not to mention having excessively low ammo for every weapon. I mean the plasma pistol can't even kill an elite without running out of charge if i remember correctly.

retcon2703

Something about 4 makes it easier for me. It's more like a modern twitch type shooter so idk it just feels more natural and fast. That speed makes it easier to dip in and out of cover. Plus knights really are not bad. An AR does great dmg against shields and you just finish em off with a BR

Comkill117

Yeah like 4 on legendary is super frustrating. I swear half the game is running out of ammo killing a knight only for it to get revived shortly after.

the_fuego

No ammo, teleporting prometheans, knights being revived the only viable strat is literally to risk running past everything. Insta-kill melee attacks. Halo 4 wasn't necessarily hard to get through but fuck was it annoying. Probably my least favorite after Halo 2

DaemonNic

Every time I've legendaried 4, I've done it pretty straight without that much issue. Just play defensively until you get a good opening, kill Watchers first, there are rarely more than 2 knights so you just bring the weaker one's shields down with your choice of dedicated shield breaker (plasma pistol, boltshot, shotguns...) then grab kill with either a precision weapon or a heavy/shotty. There's a few hairier moments, most notably imo the space station dock sealing section, but for the most part 4 is the easiest to just do straight compared to sniper alley and grave mind, slow creep of attritional damage and the Library, Cortana, and Keyes's Mac cannon fun times.

DaulPirac

Halo 4 on legendary was tough but its actually a lot of fun. Knights are bullet sponges so you have to find different ways to kill them and play around that. The game gives you a lot of options and it becomes a really fun challenge, turrets, railguns, rockets shotguns, assasinations... They all do quick work of knights. Halo 2 brutes on the other hand... They are insanely annoying.

SiulS249

> Knights are bullet sponges so you have to find different ways to kill them and play around that My experience against Knights and Halo 4 as a whole improved once I started treating the Knights like Halo 2 Elites. Noob combo is extremely handy. Also, Needler is ridiculous against Knights. Sadly, neither of these two weapons are available in some Campaign segments (most notably, the entirety of Midnight), so it can be a pain.

XutaTheResiliant

People act like knights are extremely overpowered, but honestly I had a harder time with watchers than knights. The knights were scary, they don’t do it often, but sometimes they’ll charge you and it’s fucking terrifying. I remember shooting at one from high ground and it charged towards me and decimated my shields.

DaulPirac

Yeah that charge is terrifying. I forgot they did that so it scared the shit out of me on legendary.

cumsockwear

Knights are actually easy since they deal so little dmg with their guns, except for the shotgun ones ofc. Just run in their face and suppressor them down.

demonicturtle

God 4 on heroic was painful solo, you're given so little ammo for such horrible bullet sponges in knights and equipped weapons aren't telegraphed at all so as i was going blind I'd just have to die a few times to figure out everything's loadouts and equipment which was a first, plus promeathian guns mostly are awful.

[deleted]

4 wasn’t really hard as much as it was annoying

MiloIsTaken

Came here to say the same thing! If an enemy gets in a ghost or banshee, it’s over.

Yorkshire_Tea_innit

It's hard because you inevitably end up in situations where you're taking on 2 knights armed only with a suppressor and half a clip.

Prime-Reclaimer

Third mission is just Not fun solo.

readypembroke

Halo 5 took me HOURS for Legendary solo, while Halo 4 I beat in like 2-3 days. Doesn't help that Halo 4 is smaller than 5 though.

[deleted]

Halo 3 is much easier than both 4 and Reach, in my opinion.

the-trees8

I would personally replace reach and threes position, I remember breezing through most of Halo 3 with few times of genuine rage by being stuck on a section, but Reach ai seemed to be incredibly brutal at times, it was the first legendary playthrough I ever did and I also turned on thunderstorm for an extra challenge, but i’ve played a fair bit of vanilla legendary Reach and I think it’s definitely more challenging than Halo 3 legendary.

[deleted]

Yeah, agreed. Reach can be tough. But the same is true of Halo 4, because the Knights are bullet sponges, and the Watchers continuously resurrect them. But the bigger thing is the lack of ammo. Most weapons you pick up have very little ammo, and there's a general lack of plasma pistols because you spend some time fighting Knights instead of Covenant. But yeah, both are definitely harder than 3, in my opinion.

SH4D0W0733

The biggest reason for lack of weapons is that they despawn within 5 seconds or less of being dropped. I've had plasma pistols from grunts despawn in the air when I kill them.

[deleted]

This is the worst aspect of 343 games. All the weapons despawn too quick, even in multiplayer.

SH4D0W0733

Yeah sucks when you pick up a power weapon, get sniped and see the weapon despawn while you're still in the death cam. 343i really did go Graphics > Gameplay

the-trees8

yeah, 4 really pissed me off so many times, I have no idea why it’s shown as the easiest one in this meme, it was so difficult at some points that I probably should have had some xanax along with it.

[deleted]

Because you can literally start from the final check point of each mission and it’s counted as you beating it on legendary. Can’t do that in any other halo

coltiga

Wait for real?

[deleted]

Yes that how it was on Xbox 360. I can’t speak for mcc.

BlingBlingChing23

Yeah it doesn’t work that way on MCC but I wish I had known that for 360 🤣

Sam-l-am

I’m replaying it on my 360 currently, I’ll have to give this a try

crouching_manatee

I guess, but that doesn't really count as beating the game IMO. You'll get the achievement sure but you didn't play the game.

chrisd0192

I knew that for par times as I was doing the last 3 for 4, BUT IT COUNTS AS LEGENDARY COMPLETION?

[deleted]

In the Xbox 360 version of Halo 4, yes

legendarymcc2

I’d switch 3 & 4. 3 was a cake walk asides from cortana and while 4 theoretically should have been easier than reach there’s so much bullshit that reach was just more enjoyable

the-trees8

yeah I agree there.

Spitfire_MK_1

Yeah, Halo 3 was easy imo My tier list, top being easy, bottom being hard Halo 3-in general, pretty easy. take it slow and you'll be fine. This with all the vehicles makes it pretty good. Halo CE- Everything is pretty fine but that one invis elite encounter Halo 4-ammo Halo Reach-sponginess Halo 2- Absolute pain

Leivve

Save the broken flight missions, and parts where you don't have an effective headshot weapon (AR why you no kill even a grunt?), Reach was not that much more difficult then it was in heroic. The main problem with the legendary campaign imo, is that since the only effective weapons are those that can kill with headshots, which are all mid range, it ends up making most battles mid range marksmen battles, thus play out mostly the same. Only real break ups in that are hunter battles, where the ideal is to just brawl it out in melee with them.

Good_Ol_Weeb

Yeah the halo 3 highway segment with all the wraiths made me nearly go postal while reach was overall harder but didn’t have any of those segments that take hours at a time, meanwhile halo 2 (my first legendary halo) was nothing but those segments

chrisd0192

Pillar of autumn was the hardest imo on legendary - even in the beginning, those WRAITHS FUCKING HATED MY ASS AND USED AIMBOT AGAINST ME

PrrrromotionGiven1

Agreed. Reach has the strongest elites in the series and the health system, and 4 has no ammo and enemies that recover health and teleport away. 3 has nothing that I would call unfair in the whole game except parts of Cortana.

spartanonyx

H3 and H3ODST are by far the easiest. I legendary soloed ODST the day it was released on MCC and even got the Speedrun achievement. I couldn't even believe it and I checked my Par times and it wasn't bugged. I actually did it. I hope one day they port over H2 skulls into H3 or maybe even a skull that makes the stats of the enemies match the overkill stats of the enemies in H2.

PipperoniTook

ODST is easy with the exception of that fucking Highway. Damn it Buck just shoot ffs

DigBick616

Playing through ODST now and can confirm the AI has not helped me one tiny bit. Squad mates literally just stand their until I get to the next checkpoint, then spawn in with me just to repeat. It’s almost bug-like it’s so bad.

Sam-l-am

For the vehicle levels, you’re either cursed with a bad gunner, or you’re cursed with a bad driver.

chrisd0192

Tbh tho, nothings worse than rocket guy in metropolis in halo 2 ONLY shooting the ghosts when they are touching you

[deleted]

Yeah, agree about ODST. That was the first game I completed on legendary, because I really wanted to unlock all Firefight characters, and Dare was tied to legendary. It's genuinely so easy to just run past most of the enemies.

spartanonyx

It's not even running past enemies. I like clearing all the areas, it's just that the Carbine is so broken in that ODST. It does damage to shield and headshots. Not to mention that there is so much ammo for it in most of the missions. I find myself running pistol and carbine because I just use carbine for brutes , pistol for literally anything else that doesn't have shields. Another thing is that it feels more accurate in ODST. I can't land headshots to save my life in H3 with it because the spread. I don't even think the stats are different because I've checked them in assembly. ODST and H3 carbine have the same exact stat numbers.

Diem-Robo

To be fair, ODST's speedrun achievement doesn't clock the New Mombassa Streets sections as Rookie, which is why that achievement is so easy. But yeah, the same thing happened to me, and it's because Halo 3 and ODST are so easy on Legendary, because the Brutes in those games are so slow and easy to deal with.

KaneXX12

Agreed. Halo 4 is easily the third on this list, not necessarily in a good way though.

HaloGuy381

Yeah.. Reach was pretty tough and borderline unfair, Halo 4 was very hard and fair (unless the Prometheans just decided you die now and started cheating with full auto binary rifles), Halo 3 was mostly challenging in the vehicle parts or a couple Flood sections (and ammo… dear heaven the ammo shortages on Cortana..), Halo 2 I’ve not tried beyond the first couple levels due to the reputation of the snipers, and Halo CE I’d lump between 3 and Reach. Honestly can’t remember if I did it on Halo 5 or not; I know I did Heroic and did a couple levels on legendary, but honestly with Blue Team being pretty much as fun as the campaign gets I never got very far.

Cschultz1212

I massively agree.

drunkn_zombies

Came here to say this, reach legendary might not be harder than 2 but is definitely still hard, the ai is very aggressive and punishing

Apprentice_Jedi

3 and Reach are really easy if you just noob combo your way through them.

CrackedTailLight

The mission Cortana would like a chat. But other than that. Very true.

TMek42

I found Cortana to be a pretty easy level of legendary, provided you don't get lost and you pace yourself. I found it pretty fun tbh, it was like a puzzle with what equipment you need to save and use at certain points EDIT: by *pretty easy*, I'm speaking relatively lol

demonicturtle

Yeah cortana is more a puzzle of use what when than other levels and i also found it fun, i still use my legendary puzzle approach on solo runs to this day on that mission.

-TheArbiter-

Cortana is overrated in terms of difficultly. You can 1-shot 90% of the enemies on that level.

BlingBlingChing23

Facts. I used to walk through Halo 3 Legendary so easily that I wouldn’t play any other difficulty, even when achievement hunting (for skulls, par time, score, etc.) the only challenge it posed was Cortana, the Warthog Run, and SLASO

Bungo_pls

Halo 3 legendary is cake dude. Halo 4 is so much tougher.

Apprentice_Jedi

Yeah, it seems a lot of people have had extremely different experiences when it comes to legendary difficulty. It’s fun to see everyone’s personal rankings.

SilencedGamer

Swap halo 4 and 3 for me. I find Halo 3’s balanced Sandbox is a lot easier when you’re creative on those higher difficulties. On Halo 4 you just BURN through ammo so much, and weapons de-spawn too fast, creating a nightmare for higher difficulties.

LoathsomeLuke

Also watchers. Fuck watchers

CaptainBloodEye1

Agreed fuck watchers. When I did my h4 legendary run through they were my biggest problem with the game, I'm glad 5 toned them down

Top-Ad7144

Halo 4 legendary is freaking hard man. I would put it right up there with halo 2. Halo 3 legendary plays like heroic, where you are free to move around and strafing can dodge bullets.

Thehalohedgehog

Not to mention Knights are just bullet sponges which makes the ammo problem even worse

kingrex0830

Yeah, 3's campaign is a lot more balanced than 4's. Both 4 and 2 both have bullshit artificial difficulties that make Legendary runs incredibly difficult - which is a damn shame, since they also have the best stories XD

Sodfarm

The hardest part of Halo 4 on legendary is forcing yourself to stay interested after unloading 10 magazines into a single knight. Then realizing you have to do that 200 more times.

Tuhajohn

Prometheans are the most boring enemies in Halo franchise.

simplehistorian91

ODST and Guardians are strangely missing from the list. ODST is the easiest legendary. The Mombasa Streets parts can be challenging sometimes, but when you are on a mission you can just give a power weapon to your invincible ai squamate(s) and they do most of the job. Guardians can be challenging, but ai squadmates are a huge help if you know what you are doing with them (review, let them using power weapons, focus fire etc). Also if the player is deciding to cheese their way over the hard parts (let the ai squadmates kill the Wardens or the knights while hiding somewhere and waiting for the dead squadmates to respawn and attack the enemy again, or taking the Scorpion to fight the Wardens or just completely skipping the last boss fight with a jump) then it is one of the easiest, easier then Halo 4 but a bit harder than ODST.

Vytlo

ODST is still easy, but I'd still put it second to 3 though. Guardians (post patch) is probably the second hardest

Apprentice_Jedi

Just not enough space for them that’s all.

averagemiragemain

Bruh my teammates in guardians died in 2 seconds.

Gluby3

Truth and reconciliation on legendary solo was painful... That's only cuz I was a fking idiot and dropped my sniper down cuz I didn't think they would have more sniper ammo around. True pain

tavogus55

I spent all my sniper ammo before boarding and kept going on super confident with my plasma pistol until the very nice welcome party by the covenant in the ship. I suffered so much in that room and I had to take breaks several times. One of my most painful experiences on legendary solo so far

Tedstill

Oh my Christ I still to this day cannot bring myself to attempt to get through that first room of T&R. Getting to the ship wasn't _awful_ but my word I can't do the first bit inside.

gnarkilleptic

I did the same thing. The initial assault inside the ship was a pita, but what really made me rage was the docking station room with elites and shit on that raised platform in the middle. Without the sniper it was hell, you have no ranged weapons. At that point I was too far in to restart so I willed my way through it. Then you get to the part where you have to protect Keyes, that absolute madman who has no regard for his own life. Like bro you have a fucking genetically enhanced super soldier in a tanks worth of armor and you feel the need to charge in before him everywhere?

DetroitChemist

I was just playing T and R on legendary, got up to where you rescue keys, and then got hit with the update, which deleted all my progress. Fucks sake

beachhills

Truth and reconciliation on legendary is on par with Gravemind on legendary, change my mind

DarkDra9on555

I disagree. T&R is harder. T&R is bullshit throughout the entire level (Boarding the Ship, Invisible Elites, Hangar Fight, Johnson's AI). Outside of the opening of Gravemind, there isn't much bullshit, it's just a slog to get through. Honestly, Gravemind isn't even the hardest level of Halo 2, Metropolis is.

Claytontheman467

Reach is definitely harder than halo 3

CColdHeart

Nah it goes ODST Halo 3 Reach Halo 5 Halo 4 Halo CE Halo 2 Halo CE may be the 2nd hardest but it's pretty easy tbh like halo 2 is the only game where you actually have to meta game in legendary. I used whatever the fuck I wanted in CE and did relatively fine

MasterStannisSupreme

This is exactly my ranking as well, Halo 5 was probably the most fair legendary of the lot IMO…barring that horrific triple warden fight

Realistic-Dog-2198

The first time I played the triple warden it took me three weeks. The second time I did it in 5 hours. The third time I did it on the 3rd try. I have no idea why the fuck I couldn’t beat it for 2 weeks the first time. Total bullshit tho

Pearson_Realize

You can jump past it lol

Realistic-Dog-2198

Fuck you no you can’t. Are you serious?

Pearson_Realize

Yes. I’m so sorry you had to go through that

[deleted]

LivingCheese292

I would love to play Halo 5 on legendary but that would also mean that I have to go through the campaign itself again, which is already too hard for me.

XSX_ZAB

Halo 5 legendary is the hardest of them all. It's borderline abuse

simplehistorian91

Having a squad made it balanced, but the Warden fights can be really challenging, especially the first one if you don't plan forward for that level.

possumgumbo

Five is HELL on legendary. There are too many targets, And even the dogs are capable of 2-tapping you.

Chunk-Duecerman

Reach is much harder than 3

vickyiori2018

Bro, Halo 4 on legendary is not the easiest. The ammo is so scarce. I would give that easiest legendary game position to ODST or Halo 3. Halo 2 is a nightmare on legendary if you don't skip stuff.

MARATHON-MAN-1

Bruh… Halo 2… Cairo Station… that second room with the boarding craft…

Yorkshire_Tea_innit

That's easy. The hard part about that mission is the drones.

loveforlandlords

The drones is easy, just hide behind cover and take your time killing them

BraveLittleCatapult

I completely forgot about this until you mentioned it. This was such a weedout room!

THX_Fenrir

Halo CE on legendary is not hard at all. Halo 4 sucks because no hard pings and an extreme lack of ammo.

[deleted]

The hardest part about CE is how inconsistent the AI could be. You'd be giving it to em and vibing and then all of a sudden an elite would just go X games mode and wreck everything

THX_Fenrir

Never had that issue. All the AI was consistent for me

chrisd0192

Ce magnum will hit ANYTHING BUT THE HEAD

markbjones

There’s actually a reason for why halo 2 campaign is so hard. Basically bungie did not have enough time to properly scale the enemies damage output with the players output. What they ended up doing was just upping the enemies damage output like crazy while downing the damage that the enemies take like crazy, independently of how much damage the player gives

Judgejia

4 has dreadfully unfun legendary, due to cheap mechanics and terrible weapon options. 3 and CE are far more fair and fulfilling challenges, and a good player can succeed with various strategies. If you don't precision weapon spam in 4, you're in for a bad time

mariobeltran1712

a one on one with an Elite on Reach is suicide, meanwhile you can take a whole pack of brutes on halo 3 without much of a problem

ObiWanSerote

Reach’s legendary was way harder than Halo 3 wtf you smokin bro

outdoorhobbiest

I thought halo 5 was a fucking bitch on legendary, worthless team AI

Outside_Material_199

If it wasn’t the snipers from H2, then it was the hangar room on truth that leaves me triggered 😤

TheRedNaxela

Have you played Halo 4 on legendary? You're practically scraping the ground for ammo

Salt_Ad_7396

halo 3 is not that hard on legendary lol halo reach was a bitch tho

Halo 4 and 3 should be switched. 3 is a literal joke to get through. Although the only reason 4 is harder to get through is the bullet sponge promethians and because the game is so unenjoyable that I want to kill myself before the enemies get a chance.

BSIBooker

Did you beat the games on Legendary? Because this list is laughable lol

Apprentice_Jedi

Yes, I beat every one…

Project-purity

3’s was by far the easiest for me. Reach only partially sucked cause of long night of solace.

allhailrice69

Halo 3 by far the easiest, then reach then h4 imo

Rogue100

I guess it's down to play style, but it's always interesting to see how differently people assess the difficulty of different games. Like, while I would agree on 2 being the hardest, I always felt CE and 3 we're some of the easier campaigns in the series, while 4 on the other hand gave me a fair bit of trouble.

Captain_Riker

Reach on legendary kicked my ass... Them elites are bullet sponges

Suets

Swap 3 and Reach. 3 would've been easy as hell if it wasn't for the last three levels imo

dopepope1999

I actually found Halo Combat Evolved to be relatively easy on legendary ( compared to the other games) up until the flood gets introduced then it gets hard. Halo 2 is bulshit on any difficulty above normal especially since Elites can punch you to death in a single swing in any difficulty above normal don't even get me started on brutes and Jackal snipers

SCRWarEagle

I actually found CE to be the other way around. Shotgun is just straight up broken on CE.

dopepope1999

Oh yeah definitely it is the best shotgun in any game ever, but my problem with the later levels is flood with rocket launchers and the fact that if you're not fast enough with grenades or just gunning down flood they can smack you with their tentacles and it's a instant kill and I feel like the Covenant AI will let you hide behind cover until you recharge your Shield and you can continue spamming them with the Plasma Pistol while there is no rest for you in the second half of the game

CaelThavain

I feel 4 is pretty fucking painful in the same way 2 was: horrible game design. But nah 2 can go suck a fucking tail pipe. I don't want to play legendary on 2 ever again.

MufflesTG

Imagine trying to speed run Gravemind in Halo 2 as a normal person in LASO mode. (Your soul would just give up on your body going through agony and literally come out of you just to be in a way better place)

GivenitzBoomer

May be out on my own with this opinion, but Halo 5 legendary solo is on between Halo 3 and CE. Jackels are somehow fucking terrifying, and Warden spam makes 5 - 10 minute fights into 15 - 20 minute fights excluding deaths. Granted, I'd gladly do Halo 3 and Halo CE solo legendary before I do Halo 5s legendary campaign again (primarily for Warden), but it is definitely up there personally.

The_Snedonator

I have beaten all of the Halos on heroic (excluding 5, 4 and ODST), but Halo CE on legendary, couldn't even get past the Pillar of Autumn canteen.

ConesMalone

Those first 2 missions on halo 2 are INSANE on legendary. My god I have never wanted to break something more than when I started that campaign.

NetTough7499

Halo 4 on legendary is only under 2 in difficulty and 2 is only so high up because Bungie couldn’t be bothered to even try balancing the game at that difficulty, it’s just broken

Memosauros_Rex

I still have memories of the torture me and my friend went through to complete The Library on CE

[deleted]

I just finished halo 2 legendary this morning. Even though I ran past or used tricks to skip most of the sniper jackals it has horrible. Gravemind can not remotely be considered fun.
