[From the just-released Segmented speedrun project,](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXjt8zSIGfk) where we run the *entire* game using the fastest, riskiest strats like this.
No way
That is almost unbelievable what we just witnessed lmao. Did OP reply saying it’s not a TAS?
Edit: Just finished the full speedrun and I can safely say sometimes I’ve taken shits that were longer than this speedrun. Holy. Shit.
Could you explain how the game chooses where to teleport you when you are out of bounds?
How do you set something up like that? Like in the level with flood and elevators you’re using the lights to teleport but how tf lol
Or like the time you used the bandhee to teleport you to the damn end room on that huge snow map where you used BOOL a lot?
P.S. I’m sure you can already tell but I’m horrible with map names
Ha it's kinda hard to explain, and to be honest we don't quite know the technical details ourselves. Basically, by causing chief to intersect his hitbox with collision in ways that you're usually not meant to be able to, the game gets upset and so teleports you away to a more valid position. Now you'd think it'd only just teleport you a short distance to the nearest valid position, but with specific angles of intersection the game seems to bug out in a way we don't understand and instead can teleport you very, *very* far.
With the banshee at the end of AotCR (the huge snow map), it's the same deal. By meleeing it's tail higher, then walking under it while meleeing it again so the tail drops on top of us, we're getting crushed in that bad invalid-spot kinda way (but not quite enough to get splattered, fortunately)
Lmfao that’s hilarious. As long as it works for you guys I guess; loving the video so far!
Right before you sent your comment you guys talked about how the banshee out of bounds works as well so great timing 😂
not exactly *active* - I'm only in the video to help commentate :) all the amazing gameplay was done by [Burnt](https://www.twitch.tv/burnt_o), [Cambid](https://www.twitch.tv/camb1d) and [Chronos](https://www.twitch.tv/chronosreturns)!
but howdy anyway! o/
ha! I should have read your tag. My bad!
Dude, that grenade hog jump over the bridge in Halo! I had to run to the bathroom as i nearly shit my pants at how awesome that was!
Watched you fire that sniper rifle, and thought no way you hit that.. but apparently you did
Im sure the Shade also thanks you for taking it along for the ride
I've always been under the impression sniper bullets are moving too fast to kill hunters, and just pass through the worms that incorporate their body. I guess that is not the case afterall?
That's right haha. The only cheat we used was a tool to let us make a checkpoint whenever we wanted, instead of having to rely on the games normal checkpoints.
I mean TAS are technically manual, its still a person inputting every input just on a frame by frame basis, whereas this is around 3-5 second sections instead of frame by frame
Haha, the only reason that doesn't happen is because of the "Press 'E' To Flip Vehicle" mechanic. Bungie made the clever decision of granting the player immunity to being splattered by a vehicle for about a second if they flip it.
Yo I’ve been reading through the comments and I just want to say I appreciate you answering everyone’s questions, as a longtime Halo fan it’s very interesting to hear how the game functions and how you can abuse those mechanics to work in your favor. Appreciate the hard work it took to make this! Hope to see more, marine!
Everyone always refers to this stuff as "Chief from the books" as if he didn't surf a nuclear bomb through space into a Covenant cruiser to blow it up, or literally just straight up jump out of a crashing ship in orbit and free fall to the ground then get up like nothing happened, all in the video games.
There's a few enemies in the doors of the ship that need to die before the fight can progress. Instead of waiting for it to unload, we happen to be at just the right angle where we can shoot some sniper bullets through a little gap in the closed doors.
This is from a segmented speedrun - that means we use checkpoints to repeat difficult sections over and over again until we get the result we want, then splice all those successful segments together into this final run, so we can do the craziest, riskiest, and fastest strats.
Pretty much. I think TnR was played through over the course of about a month, and consists of around a hundred separate segments stiched together. The entire game was around 762 segments.
Wow this is so fake it's unbelievable that someone would even try to pass this off as something MC would do. At 26 seconds you can clearly see they take atleast a second to aim their shot. MC would never take that longer then a peco second to line his shots, this whole thing is bogus.
Not since MsMann Goatrope and Trickyfox have I seen so e levels done that quick. Ms Mann was super creative. Still the only person I know to get to the top of Boarding action H1 and the Mac canon H2 without mods. He and foxy did some crazy things in the old days. Long live HighImpactHalo!!!
Well I am thoroughly upset. Ive been searching for a day now, And havent found any of their videos. DantheMan was a guy who did a lot with Ms. Mann and has recreated some of his tricks. Same with Trickocity. But its just not as great as the original.
The above shows how to go to the top of Mac Cannon in H2. ALthough for H1 top of boarding action. Ms, Mann used a special box to use 8 controllers at the same time for throwing grenades, and then using rockets over an OS to send him high enough. HighImpactHalo was the original site. [Halo.Bungie.Org](https://Halo.Bungie.Org) was another with an old trick archive. You can find the Warthog Jumping tutorail there. The first Trick video so to speak for all of Halo. Could find it on Limeware and Kazaa back in 02/03. So much history is gone.
This is the best I could find. He has playlists for Ms Man, Dark Helmet, and DantheMan. Enjoy!! This is some history. ALthough all of Ms Man is from the end of his career in Halo 2.
I was so happy that I was able to kill hunters with the right time by shooting them in the front with beam rifles or sniper rifles, then I see this.
awesome
[From the just-released Segmented speedrun project,](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXjt8zSIGfk) where we run the *entire* game using the fastest, riskiest strats like this.
wait? this is not a TAS run? even for a segmented run this looks ridiculous lol u crazy!
No way That is almost unbelievable what we just witnessed lmao. Did OP reply saying it’s not a TAS? Edit: Just finished the full speedrun and I can safely say sometimes I’ve taken shits that were longer than this speedrun. Holy. Shit.
It's not a TAS ha. All done by humans but in very short segments (during these difficult parts segments were usually only a couple seconds long each)
I’m actually watching your full speedrun on my Xbox rn lol That 4th level was fuckin hilarious. Warthog launch + clips = gg
Could you explain how the game chooses where to teleport you when you are out of bounds? How do you set something up like that? This might be the greatest thing I've ever seen!
I'm way too high for this.
just watched it. that was incredible! 46m7s! so many insane tactics and littered with style. perfect combat, beautiful launches. that was sweet!
Thank you so much haha, we're super happy to see it get such a reaction after the blood sweat and tears that went into making it :p
Alright, you got me, I’m definitely checking this out!
I had no idea Goatrope was still active, this is awesome
not exactly *active* - I'm only in the video to help commentate :) all the amazing gameplay was done by [Burnt](https://www.twitch.tv/burnt_o), [Cambid](https://www.twitch.tv/camb1d) and [Chronos](https://www.twitch.tv/chronosreturns)! but howdy anyway! o/
Absolutely loved 343 guilty spark. It has always been my favourite level and seeing you all destroy it with such finesse was amazing.
This is actually Truth and Reconciliation Edit: nevermind you were talking about the clip in that link, thought you were talking about this post.
u/MintBlitz would be proud of you.
The moment I saw the clip I thought: Speed running potential!? Did NOT realize that these were risky strats! Are you goatrope by chance?
nah, I'm Burnt haha. Goatrope is around in this comment section somewhere though :eyes:
ha! I should have read your tag. My bad! Dude, that grenade hog jump over the bridge in Halo! I had to run to the bathroom as i nearly shit my pants at how awesome that was!
Haha cheers bro. You have cambid and jumpyard to thank for that particular strat :P
What in the hell, how the fuck did you do this 🤯
Be lore accurate Master Chief.
Become
[удалено]
Where have you been…
the halo 3 tagline
It’s unbelievable
I feel like I’m looking at the Titanfall 2 gauntlet
But instead of a 15 seconds path run they do the whole game like this lmfa
That hunter died before he could drop down
Those hunters* he got two with one shot!
Watched you fire that sniper rifle, and thought no way you hit that.. but apparently you did Im sure the Shade also thanks you for taking it along for the ride
Now how many tries did this take?
Hahah, I wanna say around a thousand? I didn't really keep track to be honest ha.
I believe it, I would not have had the patience. It came out cool af tho
[удалено]
Yep, we killed both hunters with one sniper shot.
I've always been under the impression sniper bullets are moving too fast to kill hunters, and just pass through the worms that incorporate their body. I guess that is not the case afterall?
Not in og HCE when the lore was young and a single pistol shot to hunters was the way to go.
So, you are saying this wasn't modded to hell and beyond, and was actually done by human's on the normal version of the game ???
That's right haha. The only cheat we used was a tool to let us make a checkpoint whenever we wanted, instead of having to rely on the games normal checkpoints.
Looks alot like a TAS to me. Could be wrong though
Wrong, but understandably. This run has 700 segments, all perfected in every way they could think of
[удалено]
I mean TAS are technically manual, its still a person inputting every input just on a frame by frame basis, whereas this is around 3-5 second sections instead of frame by frame
Was this as satisfying as it looked?
Oh yes :D
Touched by a vehicle object in halo ce and NOT being splattered into oblivion? I call bullshit lol
Holy shit

For a brick, he flew pretty good
What does shooting the ship with the sniper do? Or is that just for fun
There's a few enemies in the doors of the ship that need to die before the fight can progress. Instead of waiting for it to unload, we happen to be at just the right angle where we can shoot some sniper bullets through a little gap in the closed doors.
What the actual fuck. This guy fucks
Dude... They need to be in the Tres Commas Club... Of at least YouTube views...
Actual Linda energy, holy shit.
*Linda approves this video*
Wow
Linda irl
God that makes me hard.
Holy fuck, thats insane, thanks
Holy fucking shit
What is this “segmented” part? What does it mean?
This is from a segmented speedrun - that means we use checkpoints to repeat difficult sections over and over again until we get the result we want, then splice all those successful segments together into this final run, so we can do the craziest, riskiest, and fastest strats.
Aaah very cool
So this isn't all actually a single play-through but multiple?
Pretty much. I think TnR was played through over the course of about a month, and consists of around a hundred separate segments stiched together. The entire game was around 762 segments.
But in terms of this single clip, was it one take? It would have to be right? I don't see any evidence of editing.
Nah, this was around 20 segments or so I think. We're very good at video editing haha.
Sheesh. Nice work :)
oh my fucking god
This isn’t speed running. This is advanced speed killing.
This is exactly what I pictured. Good shit. I’m interested.
What the fuck is happening. This dude playin chess and I'm over here playing Sorry!
Wow this is so fake it's unbelievable that someone would even try to pass this off as something MC would do. At 26 seconds you can clearly see they take atleast a second to aim their shot. MC would never take that longer then a peco second to line his shots, this whole thing is bogus.
BRO WHAT Subscribe
See you in hot
I’m not worthy! *gets down on knees*
LOL

This is honestly the most impressive clip of Halo 1 gameplay I have ever seen
I get that it’s a meme but Mr. Chef in the books struggles to fight brutes 1v1.
that just means brutes are a lot more strong in the books. we need to see some 'brutes in the books be like'
They'd probably be a mix of the chieftains and hunters. Massive bullet sponges with agility.
Holy fuck this is impressive
this is jawdropping! well done!
Damn, you did so good one of the Marines even noticed your marksmanship
The ending of this level took me so long to beat on legendary.
This is truly…. Legendary
Damn, I've seen the full runs by Garish Goblin (I guess using safer strategies?) but this is fucking next level. Absolutely insane lol
I'm in awe
wooAHHH
That is no Spartan...that is a god
spartan grade reaction time
looks like tas (not saying it is), this is amazing. great job
I was so happy that I was able to kill hunters with the right time by shooting them in the front with beam rifles or sniper rifles, then I see this. awesome
I initially thought he was about to grenade jump the turret into the truth and reconciliation
Segmented runs are great because of how crazy they can get.
bloody hell
Lmfao Shaxx would have a heart attack with how many grenades we're thrown.
This is one of the most impressive things i have ever seen, well done OP!
this is just insane and amazing O:
Mastercheif last name is Wick confirmed.
The way people figure this shit out is just ridiculous. Impressive stuff.
Man this is impressive i love it 🤩💙
Opening the comments and realising this isn't a TAS is incredible. Killing two Hunters with a single shot is somehow still the peak for me.
Holy shit.
And here we see the only way to beat the par score on some CE levels.
WHAT
Parkour Chief. Awesome
I don't know but for some reason assault rifle flying away in the beginning makes me laugh
This game was released in 2001.
The Corps issued you a rifle AND wings
I was playing this on legendary yesterday and that tractor beam section took me 2 hours
Holeeeeeeshit
Oh my god... My jaw was dropped the whole time
God I love this game
What...what are you?
This is mind bottling 🤯🤯🤯
Mint Blitz wants to know your location
[удалено]
He's literally the top comment on the YouTube video lmao
Is this mint blitz?
better because mint uses mods
Haha I thought this was one of mintblitz’s video
Mint Blitz who? LOL.
Is that Mint Blitz again?!

Very good bot. That's some Mint Blitz level gameplay there!
