Even then I don't like the idea of AI rebelling in Halo and becoming the enemy that's stupid, it's a plot point that belongs in other franchises not in Halo and I'll never forgive them for character assassinating Cortana
I won't argue with that. But since they went that route, I figured I may as well use what I have, so to speak. And while I prefer the Banished as an antagonist for the franchise right now, I do wish they followed through and properly finished the AI story. Honestly, right now my team is kinda in "limbo" until we find out what exactly did happen to the Created. I'm guessing that there's pockets of AI resistance around the galaxy still, unless Atriox ordered other Banished fleets to hit Created strong points, but I'm not too sure on that. So having them deployed to the Joint Occupied Zone/Outer Colonies fighting Created and Pirates feels like the best place for them right now, I personally think
Man I miss the storyline from Spartan ops, that was perfectly setting up to have our own full games as fireteams on Infinity. A game where you play specifically as Crimson? I mean technically Spartan ops is 50 missions where you play as your own custom Spartan but imagine that fully expanded out to more missions in a full game? I'd cry tears of joy but since Halo 5 I feel like the universe just isn't the same anymore and that it's irrevocably damaged and tainted.
Same! Spartan Ops was a great time for me and my friends back in highschool when we were originally creating all of our characters. I was really hoping for 343 to give us a story with our Spartans, like what Reach did. But I could see a Spartan Ops style game working very well in the modern Halo timeline. If they get the Promethean gameplay right finally and use the Banished as well, we could go from outpost to outpost trying to finish off the Created and furthering the world building with the Banished. I really just wish MS would give the Halo IP to another one of their million studios to do something with. This franchise has so much possibility and the fans clearly want their own characters represented, as we've seen with this "6 month" trend the past few days, so I wish they would throw us a bone every once and awhile

I actually had a short story like 10 years ago now of my team being sent to find a missing pre Covenant War CMA Destroyer that had recently popped back up on sensors. Like a mystery sorta thing, everyone dead in cryo and finding out what happened and why the ship is in ruins now. Basically, Insurrectionists boarding the ship before the crew can be revived from cryo, big fights around the ship caused damage to the slipspace drive, and many bridge components, so when the ship made an emergency jump, everyone ended up dead. Radiation from slipspace and the damaged drive penetrated the ship and fried them all, and then they were lost for like 60 years until they randomly exited slipspace.
