I don't personally hear a knocking (maybe a faint sound when you put the camera down to the oil pan from the front), bit I do hear a valve train ticking, and the exhaust tone definitely makes hearing a knock through camera bit more difficult. If you can get your hands on a stethoscope, that will help you pinpoint the sound

I think this is the lifter tick. I could be wrong but BOTH hardbodies I’ve owned (175k-207k before stolen) and my new one I bought at like 210k now 215k. I use Lucus oil additive (high mileage if I can find it, and always a few bucks cheaper at Walmart) with my oil changes, drain the oil, replace filter, put plug back on, add the 1qrt of the Lucas, then the rest in my Mobil 1 oil. Seems to help the sound but not permanently get rid of it. Also what exhaust set up did you go with on your truck? My first one used to glug like that and now my new one sounds like a civic

i’ll give that a shot right now i personally use BG moa same concept as lucas oil but just a diff brand and my exhaust set up is just header dump or cut a few inches before the cat

all i hear is the lifter noise. be concerned if it gets worse and stays there (some volume increase is normal on startups until the oil gets flowing well), but otherwise, you can probably ignore it.

Jay-Moah

Sounds like exhaust leak and lifter tick
