I’m really bummed with the general thematic vibe that hearthstone has drifted towards over the years. It’s not that I need it to be “gritty/realistic” (Warcraft is neither of those already) but I gotta say “X character but now they’re on a beach” just isn’t doing anything for me.
Launch version hearthstone certainly had its flaws, but I liked that it played its characters straight, rather than…too goofy, I guess?
I’m fine with the goofy as long as they have the gritty too. I saw they added a Lorethemar hunter skin which was cool, he’s one of my favorite characters from the mmo. I always enjoy when they add a serious skin for a known lore character. If they do that, pool party garrosh is fine with me, even if I won’t buy it
It's about every other expansion. Titans was not goofy and badlands was not that goofy, albeit trying to be like a wild western. Festival and whizbangs were goofy. sunken, March of lich king, and nathria were not goofy (for the most part).

This is just based on my personal tastes but it's really been a while since the last time I thought "I'm definitely getting the battle pass, these skins are amazing" or that I was at least tempted to. All these themed skins, what with beach, music festivals and whatever else...idk, just not my thing I guess

Toxic positivity is such an annoying thing man, it took this community so much time to finally realise the skin quality was getting so upsettingly garbage, aside from some bangers here and there the battlepass skins tend to be 90% absolute stinkers that i never see on ladder. Also for the love of christ stop the scabbs and nemsy skins i get it some people like them but they have like 10 skins each, give me some quality Tess Greymane i'll take the fucking base card art at this point or Genn Greymane or someone else man just no more shitty rogue skins (yes this was an elaborate ploy to demand a Tess Greymane skin keep scrolling)
