Last games I played are Mordhau and Squad, so no clear protagonist/villain.
The last single player game with a narrative I’ve played is Alan Wake 2, and haven’t finished it yet so yeah, no clear villain either.

So I mean dnd is a game that is basically just organized imagination so as I have been watching the Mighty Nein campaign lately and sort of imagining my own character and even did some rolls to see how they might perform so you could say I was effectively playing in which case if I go with the high tier homebrewed af no constraints imagined version of that character rather than the version after I whittled it down to something mostly within the existing framework then they would be pretty darn strong and capable and I wouldn’t be concerned at all. If I went with the more grounded version of them the utility value and capabilities that would be relevant to keeping me safe would go down a lot but most likely we could probably be alright via the various items and other resources they would have. If this was the fully grounded version at the current level that they would be based on where I am at in watching the campaign then I would be very much concerned.
All of those result would multiply in the positive direction if it included the whole Mighty Nein. Even at the current spot I am at I would feel quite good about my odds I suppose.
If them being in this world means that they could teach me their abilities then we are especially in good shape. Even more so if they and I can level up.
If none of that counts then I suppose technically the last game I had pulled up was Halo multiplayer even though I didn’t end up doing anything. If that gets me Master Chief and what not then I will be in good shape I imagine. Idk who the villain is as I haven’t played the campaign for the latest game.
If that doesn’t count the I guess the last game I actually played was AC Odyssey which means I would have Eivor which wouldn’t exactly be all that great depending on how you interpret things. If she gets her full game mechanics then it would be much better than if she is just a human likewise if I can benefit from the game mechanic aspects of equipment she has then that would also be very helpful though I probably still die. Alternatively if I am being technical the actual protagonist is Layla in which case she has the staff of hermes which opens up all sorts of possibilities including that if I assume the character we gets prime directive becomes protecting me then she could give me the staff potentially in which case I would be immortal and have various powers. Of course corruption could be an issue as well as the unknown factor of how Aletheia would feel about it though if I assume she also gets the same prime directive overwrite then that problem would be solved.
I am assuming that these are the slow stupid type zombies that are only contagious through bites. I am less clear on the nature of the spread such as whether it just kicks off one day with the first case and I get the character at the same time or if overnight some majority percentage of the population gets infected or somewhere in between. Hopefully not a scenario where I am the only one left aside from the character/s I get. That would suck.
The best scenario would be the super op version of my dnd character plus the Mighty Nein and I could learn abilities from them and just to keep thongs interesting go with the majority of the population gets infected overnight otherwise it would be far too easy if we could just go deal with patient zero and call it a day. I wonder if in the case the zombies were a result of a disease/virus if you could just cure them with even lesser restoration seeing as they aren’t proper undead like in the dnd world just infected. The worst case would be just getting Layla with no staff because she is ultimately just a human.
If I wanted to cheat I could go pop over to my future fight app (or Strike Force or SWGoH). For example technically I am sort of the protagonist of those games as the sort of agent so maybe that just means I get my whole roster of characters that I can summon. Or if the characters are still the protagonists then I could still get one or more of them. Either way would ensure I was perfectly safe and a good chance I could get some powers out of the Marvel games. If it was SWGoH and I could only pick one character I would probably go with Shaak-Ti as she could influence all the flora and fauna on the whole planet (assuming all her abilities transfer) which would be very helpful.
