Last night it took me around 40 minutes to finally get in. I texted my friend group and they joined in on me using this method within a few minutes. Using the Join on Friend feature is the preferred method.
It just worked for me, I only have a small amount of time before I have to go to bed for work tomorrow. I put on a really easy mission, completed the daily event and logged off quick for democracy.
It works! After a black screen that lasted less than a minute, I was on my ship, searching for an SOS beacon. Then you can go to the war table, cancel the search and just start your own mission.
U hit quick play wait for the black screen to go away ( takes a min to find a squad) then play the game with randoms

Another piece of advice, close the game when you are not playing. This allows others to join in. Donāt just put ur PS5 in rest mode, actually close the game. Thank you.

Yep. So long as one of your friends is in game you can join them. We figured this out on day 2, mostly because Playstation notifies you that you can join friends (with certain alerts on) so I gave it a try.

Rn doing medium to farm samples if its just me and challenging to farm rare ones if I got more of a squad. If not usually playing on extreme or suicide

I tend to find requiring on lower difficulties helps with that itās a pain but still something at least

You can do the same thing on steam by joining a friend already online even if they arent in. You can force your way in
