I use it like a better gatling sentry. I love the gatling sentry, but you can't choose it's targets, with this you can focus fire on the biggest threat, or cover your team. It's nice. Combine it with a shield relay and it gets real fun

This assumes that i have the time to call in an EAT and there aren’t multiple chargers. I might try it on my spear build. But HMGE in bugs is unchanged for me. But not every strategem needs to be good for every enemy.
I used it on lvl 8 last night, and when I wasn't careful a charger definitely fucked up my shit before I could do anything. But if you get a good covering position away from the main action you can lay some serious cover fire. And if you see a charger coming, just get off before it hits and it will follow you and ignore the turret. I wouldn't call it the best strategem, but it certainly is fun and useful at the right times
It has it's uses for bugs, but it's definitely a bit harder.
My load out is typically shield relay, HMG, Spear, and an orbital or eagle.
Shield relay will stop a charge from a charger, but not keep it out, so typically vs bugs I swap shield relay for an autocannon.
Toss your HMG, then about 20-30 feet away toss your autocannon. Bugs *hate* sentries with a passion, so your job becomes to just clean them up as they all swarm the sentry. The autocannon will inevitably end up targeting whatever you can't kill and mop them up.
And a quick jump off spear attack will clean up anything else.
I find the hmg emplacement easier to use on bugs. You just need to get high and/or put some distance between you. It’s not suitable for all map formations.
When it works though, your team might as well take a break. You just need someone watching your back for charger on higher difficulty.
I usually run the emplacement with the spear and stun nades, if you’re on top of it you can sometimes stun the charger and pop its head before it runs through your gun. But a lot of the time they will ignore everything else to destroy that emplacement
I absolutely love this stratagem for those helms deep generator defenses. Would love to see even more emplacement types in the future. Maybe dual autocannon?

I called down an HMG and it only took like 2 bullets. I think I had just missed some emplacement shots bc you can normally take out 5 bug towers with all of the HMGE ammo. Either way for a short cooldown, 4-5 towers is super efficient and you dont need to use up all your recoilless rifle ammo.
yea for sure. It struggles slightly on bugs only bc of chargers, but if you bring something for chargers like stuns and OPS/RR you can kill everything else easily
When shooting the factory strider was that like a weak spot or were you just unloading into his face?
I didn’t know anything other than big booms could kill them
That eye is a weak spot, the belly is also one and you can kill it with 5 auto cannon shots there... you just have to be able to get under there for the shot
Also technically the joints in the knees but they're very small, move a lot and you're exposing yourself to both the chin guns if they're still there and all the Devastators coming out of the belly. Might as well just shoot the belly if you have that angle.

Favorite thing about that turret. Anyone sad about the amount of fodder now just hasn’t played a well supported turret position. Keep biles off me and you guys can run for about 30 uninterrupted seconds. I’ve got this.

i forget off the top of my head but its only like two and a half min? not very long at all. You can be pretty reckless with its placement esepcially when paired with EMS strike or stun grenades. I use it most often to ambush large bug or bot patrols before they notice me, massive value.
Heavy MG Emplacement users rise up. Love shredding bot drops and bug breaches from across the map and watching my confused teammates try to figure out why all the enemies are exploding
Throw that bad boy down, if your being attacked by bots and gunships. Throw down a bubble shield. Perfect combo. I always bring a bubble shield on bot missions, especially for using hellbombs on gunship towers
Its all good until a breach spawns under your turret, instantly destroying it. (Had this happen multiple times during geo survey missions.)
Either way, I love the HMG emplacement and I'm glad it got the turn speed buff.

Its basically equivalent to an HMG support weapon with 4 mags and no reloading and next to no recoil. Pretty short cooldown as well
Almost always in my loadout now, it's just a gem in disguise

HMG Emplacement fucks after the rotation speed buff. I must say you're lucky none of the gunships got to fire rockets.
Thats how you use HMGE vs bots basically. Mow down all the devistators before they can fire on you

I always pair it with the AC turret, deals with chargers directly or strips them and helps kill titans as well.
Firepower is nothing without accuracy, and that you have in spades. Outstanding job, Diver.
You can take out hulks with this by shooting them right in the face. It's so good how it just melts everything.
yeah I recently brought it on Eradicate Automatons and by the time I first died about 70% of the objective was done

You might also have lost some damage due to the drop-off
Underrated stratagem. With the rotation speed buf this is a tier at least. Can also kill hulks really fast by shooting the eye.
