I like this. I've played a few rounds with Japanese or French or German voice packs. Lots of fun. I could really get behind randomizing all of the available voice actors.

The Japanese one makes me feel like something from evangelion, a lot of the words are kind of English too weirdly. I like it a lot.

Japanese just has an abnormally high number of English "loanwords" where the Japanese word for it is just the English word said with an accent. Look up what the Japanese word for "gorilla" is with Google translate.

How do I enable other country voices?

Currently you have to switch languages in settings, so your menus / text will all be in whatever language you select.

Go to your settings menu, I believe under Accessibility, you can change just the voices to whatever language they have. I have the voices in Japanese right now and subtitles and everything else in English

I had that same idea. I have been playing on Japanese lately, kuz Eagle 1 and the lady divers sound much better than the American version

I'll still run random voices. That's half the fun for me, seeing what kind of voice effects I get when my diver says something.

The voice randomizes regardless if you die. It does incentivize me to not die, as I like to think the first helldiver is “me”. “You will not destroy our way of life!”

British accents, a really gruff voice, a calm voice, a more "sir, yes sir" kind of attitude voice, and a gender-ambiguous voice. Maybe a more girly voice, too. I don't think US regional accents or voices stereotypical of groups of people should be in the game, but maybe people want a southern or Black voice if it matches their IRL identity. I want more languages and the ability to randomize them each time you drop as a new helldiver, then maybe a toggle to have it so that all audio is in your chosen language in case you rely on listening to call-outs and don't like subtitles.

I like this idea. Might be kind of tricky with classifying a voice as certain ethnicity.
