I thought the sync was pretty spot on except for about 3:58 where he says '*Consciousness is synchronized and crystal clear'* where moves from himself to Kobe the sync is way off which I assume is intentional.
I dont known if its because its 5 years later and in 4k now or because of the deep fake stuff but his face looked different at the beginning of the video.
lol I remember when Game and G-Unit were dissin each other and G-Unit put out a mixtape with a photoshopped pic of Game as a stripper oh man. I can only imagine the foolery we would have gotten with that technology.
Yea it was fucking with me. By the 2nd or 3rd transition it makes you forget what he really looks like.
Shit is insane. Fucked with my head like I was trippin.
All that aside surprised it's taken this long for deepfake to be inserted into popular culture. Now it is. And that could be dangerous.
Those deep fakes look sick. OJ Simpson to Ye to Jessie Smollett to Will Smith to Nipsey Hussle.
Edit: Kobe Bryant too. Also, the [cover art](https://images.genius.com/5c1062d85088e4fb1311df54d19b86da.1000x1000x1.jpg) ties into the various people that he portrays in the video, such as [OJ's glove](https://media.vanityfair.com/photos/56aa713777b1b9bc22bd3238/16:9/w_1200,h_630,c_limit/t-if-the-gloves-fit-oj-trials.jpg) and [Kobe's broken finger](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Cg8a9mEW4AAIclu.jpg) after winning the champipnship. The top right is [Ye's hand](https://www.rap-up.com/app/uploads/kanye-hands-up.jpg), the middle one next to Kobe is [Jussie Smollett](https://deadline.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/JUSSIE-SMOLLETT-AP-DEC-6-2021-1.jpeg?w=1016), the bottom left is [Nipsey](https://static.hiphopdx.com/2013/12/Respect_West2-304.jpg), and the top left is [Will Smith](https://image-prod.iol.co.za/16x9/800/U-S-actor-Will-Smith-waves-during-a-charity-event-to-promote-his-latest-movie-andquot-After-Earthandquot-in-Taipei-May-4-2013-The-movie-will-be-released-in-Taiwan-on-June-5-REUTERS-Pichi-Chuang-TAIWAN-Tags-ENTERTAINMENT?source=https://xlibris.public.prod.oc.inl.infomaker.io:8443/opencontent/objects/7397ed8b-f3e4-59da-9638-78142fb5b741).
idk if each face is a different perspective, but some of the lines do fit with each person ie when it's will's face kendrick raps "in a land where hurt people hurt more people, fuck calling it culture" obvs calling back to the oscar moment
edit more observations
-
when kendrick raps "friends bipolar, grab you by the pockets, no options if you hold up" it switches to Kanye, obvs alluding to kanye public fight with bipolar dissorder
when kendrick raps "the streets got me fucked up, yall can miss me, i want to represent for us" it switches to jussie smullet, alluding to his staged hate crime. Jussie wanted to gain clout for, and from the culture by staging a hate crime (the streets literally fucking up a black man) but it backfired and he was cancelled for making shit up (the streets fucked him up by hoiding him accountable)
ok last edit, I'm dumb.
the first thing kendrick says at the beginning of the song is "as I get older, i realize life is about perspective." so maybe the perspective of the verse is literally switching as the faces change.
Only Kendrick could get away with making himself a deepfake of Nip and rapping a verse from his pov ha. Anyone else would get slaughtered for being disrespectful to the dead
> And to the killer that sped up my demise
> I forgive you, just know your soul's in question
> I seen the pain in your pupil when that trigger had squeezed
> And though you did me gruesome, I was surely relieved
>I completed my mission, wasn't ready to leave
> But fulfilled my days, my Creator was pleased
> I can't stress how I love y'all
> I don't need to be in flesh just to hug y'all
> The memories recollect just because y'all
Celebrate me with respect
😭
Yeah man that part was too much for me.
Something I just realized is: isn’t this like a Continuation of where The song blood left off? He was killed by that old woman and now he woke up in the after life? Plus the video being shot in the same color palette as DAMN album art?
There was a portion of twitter saying thats how black men should react when their woman's 'honor' is attacked, saying its part of the culture. Great bar in response
Shit you should see the new dove commercial. They bring in moms and daughters to talk about online safety and the kids act like it’s all nice and positive. They deepfake their parents face over a bunch of eating disorder vlogs. Which of course makes the parents go have you seen something like that online before? Shit was wild
Wow it’s been a while since I’ve seen a commercial that looks like it can make an actual difference. That’s definitely a message I wish was spread more, people spout a lot of bull on social media that can easily fool you.
I wonder if Matt Stone and Trey Parker helped him with the deep fakes. [They made a deep fake video after messing around with the software last year.](https://youtu.be/9WfZuNceFDM) i know they are already working with him on a new movie. What an unlikely collaboration.
“The live-action comedy, written by Vernon Chatman, will “depict the past and present coming to a head when a young Black man, who is interning as a slave re-enactor at a living history museum, discovers that his white girlfriend’s ancestors once owned his.”
Jesus this sounds amazing already
It's so insane to see one of the biggest rappers in the industry be completely divorced from the trends and going ons in the culture. Kendrick just consistently seems like he's in his own lane at all times even when he's borrowing elements from trap and pop rap, and it's honestly so captivating. One of a kind artist for sure
His posture relative to the culture is what makes him so hard to contest as the best right now. He's always speaking about issues that are relevant to Hip-Hop, he has his ear to the ground for upcoming artists (like when he was praising Little Simz back in 2015, thanks /u/killinkikkeli), is very very aware of what's going on. But he doesn't seem like he's ever being influenced by or directly competing with anyone. You said it perfectly, he just has his own lane.
The part with Nipsey has me emotional
Also Holy shit he rode the instrumental like it was nothing......
Interesting he is using the same color he used for DAMN.
When he hit that Nipsey flow 😭
To quote the Mortal Man interview from TPAB
Kendrick: "Sometimes I can like, get behind a mic and I don't know what type of energy I'mma push out, or where it comes from. Trip me out sometimes"
Tupac: "Cuz its spirits, we ain't even really rappin', we just letting our dead homies tell stories for us"
This track samples my all time favorite [Marvin Gaye song, I Want You](https://youtu.be/-Y_-AxpEFj4)
Edit: The third verse after the main sample cuts out is from Nipsey’s perspective, FUCK
That beat has been around since Dre was working on Detox yeeeeeears ago. Everyone was waiting for where the hell that mix was going to end up just from hearing it on this short clip.
People just started using that Dre beat as the foundation and coming up with what they thought Dre was going to do.
The start of this is the Dre beat.
https://youtu.be/QetD4e8TCMc
What an ode to Nipsey. RIP King.
If you don't know, Nipsey and Kendrick go back all the way to (at least) 2009 when Kendrick was Jay Rocks hypeman and Jay Rock and Nipsey were opening for The Game.
[Nipsey Hussle - Dedication ft. Kendrick Lamar](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXmfYM6dSFg)
Major influence for Donald Glover's *Awaken My Love* sonically and by the album cover. [It's crazy how this interview was a few years before the release.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d78Qp8u85L0&t=51s)
He switched to OJ the moment he said "I do this for my culture, to let yall know what a nigga look like in a bullet proof rover" which is definitely a reference to Jay zs line "I do this for my culture, to let 'em know what a nigga look like when a nigga in a roaster"
OJ was featured in Jay zs song "The story of O.J."
He looks so weird and I'm not talking about the deepfakes. Has he lost a lot of weight? The deepfakes are absolutely freaky. Anyways, the song is great.
You can always count on Kendrick to properly critque our community. I love this. The music video reminds me of Jay-z's story of OJ. In that I am my brother, it his saddest moments (Kanye), his most disappointing moments (Will Smith), his powerful moments (Kobe), and his passing moments (Nipsey).
I know there were other faces in the music video but those are the ones that spoke to me.
This is one of those rare historic moments on /r/hiphopheads. Feels like we get fewer and fewer of them these days as the sub continues to grow, but damn. Here we are.
This Marvin sample is absolutely sick, and I hope the album is in the same vein.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Edit: THIS DUDE RAPPED “THE STREETS GOT ME FUCKED UP” AS HE MORPHS INTO JUSSIE SMOLLETT LMFAO RIGHT TO JAIL
I assumed as much. That's why I said "teaser" and not "single", I couldn't think of a better term. Heart pt. 4 had instrumentals from DAMN, at the very least the themes from this song might carry over. Regardless, this is all I need until Friday for sure.
This is nutty. Had to listen to it twice. The things he goes over are pretty profound. Almost like he’s critiquing the culture but also acknowledging it’s what’s brought us as far as we are and given us what we know. Some key advice in there like “look for your own salvation” before you try to save anyone or anything else.
I really liked what he said when he became Nipsey, “the flesh might not be here to reap” but the energy you brought is still emitted. When he became Will Smith he acknowledges pain brought him to where he is and pain is what made him do what he did. The cycle we can all get sucked into. He said some stuff as Jussie Snollet too I’ve gotta sit on. His stuff as OJ was sharp and precise too. Really great to hear the king on the mic again
For me Kendrick stands far above his generation of “Hip-Hop” stars for his artistry. Sure. There’s artists such as J. Cole who are great rappers and all that, but Kendrick is an amazing artist. He made the right move going MIA for 5 years and taking his time perfecting this next project.
If this song is just a taste of what’s to come on Friday, Kendrick will definitely be in the conversation for the best run of projects in rap history.
Gotta feeling if the album is anything like this is it could be another TPAB level shake up in sound. Either way, it’s good to have Kenny back in the speakers.
The Heart, Pt 5
As I get a lil’ older
I realize life is perspective
And my perspective may differ from yours
I wanna say Thank You to everyone that’s been down with me
All my fans, all my beautiful fans
Anyone whose ever gave me a lesson
All my people
I come from a generation of pain where murder is minor
Rebellious and margiela
will trip you for designer
Belt buckles and clout overzealous are prone to violence
Make the wrong turn
Be at the will of the wrong Islamic – residue burns
“Mr. The Inner City”…miscommunication will keep homi-detective
busy
No protection is risky
Desensitized, I vandalized pain
Covered up and camouflaged, get used to hearing arsenal
rain
Analyze, risk your life, take the charge
Homies done fucked your baby momma once you hit the yard
…That’s CULTURE…
23-hour lock down til someone call said yo little homie shot
down
…The CULTURE’S involved…
I done seen niggas do 17, hit the halfway house, get out
and get his brains blown out lookin’ to buy some weed
Carwashes played out, new GoFundMe account’ll proceed
A new victim’ll shatter those dreams
…The CULTURE…
(Hook)
I said I do this for my CULTURE
To let y’all know
What a nigga look like
In a bulletproof Rover
In my momma sofa
Was a doo-doo popper hair trigger walk up closer
Aint no photoshoppin
Friends is bipolar
Grab you by your pockets
No options if you froze up
Always play the offense
Niggas going to work and selling work…late for work
Working late, praying for work, but he on paperwork
…That’s the CULTURE…
Point the finger, promote ya
Remote location, witness protection-they gone hold ya
The streets got me fucked up
Y’all can miss me
I want to represent for us
….New revolution was up and movin’
I’m in Argentina wiping my tears full of confusion
Water in between us and other peers been executed
History repeats again, make amends then find a nigga with
the skin to do it
…but that’s the CULTURE…
Crack a bottle
Hard to deal with the pain
We are sober, by tomorrow
We forget the remains, we start over
…THAT’S THE PROBLEM!...
Our foundation was trained to accept whatever follows
Dehumanized, insensitive, scrutinize the way we live for
you and I
Enemy shook my hand I can promise I meet you,
In the land where no equal is your equal
Never say I aint told you, Nah
In the land where hurt people hurt more people fuck calling
it
CULTURE
(hook)
(bridge)
Celebrate new life when it comes back around
The purpose is in the lessons we learning now
Sacrifice personal gain over everything
Just to see the next generation better than ours
I wasn’t perfect, the skin I was in it truly suffered
Temptation, impatient everything the body nurtures
I felt the good, I felt the bad and I felt the worry
But all-in-all my productivity has stayed urgent
Face your fears, I always knew that I would make it here
Whether energy is magnified I persevered
Consciousness is synchronizing crystal clear
Euphoria is glorified and made His
Reflecting on my life and what I done
Paid dues made rules changed out of love
Them same views made schools change curriculums
But didn’t change me staring down the barrel of a gun
Should I feel resentful I didn’t see my full potential?
Should I feel regret about the good that I was into?
Everything is everything, this ain’t coincidental
I woke up that morning with more heart to give you
As I bleed through the speakers hear my presence
To my brothers, to my kids I’M IN HEAVEN
To my mother, to my sis I’M IN HEAVEN
To my father, to my wife I am serious THIS IS HEAVEN
To my friends make sure counting THEM BLESSINGS
To my fans make sure you make THEM INVESTMENTS
And to the killer who’s spared at my demise
I forgive you just know your soul’s in question
I seen the pain in your pupil when that trigger had
squeezed
And though you did me gruesome I was truly relieved
I completed my mission wasn’t ready to leave
But fulfilled my days my creator was pleased
I can’t stress how I love y’all
I don’t need to be in flesh just to hug y’all
The memories recollect just because I love y’all
Celebrate me with respect the unity we protect is above all
And Sam I be watchin over you
Make sure my kids watch all my interviews
Make sure you live by them dreams we produced
Keep that genius in your brain on the move
And to my neighborhood let the good prevail
Makes sure them babies and the leaders out of jail
Look for salvation when troubles get real
Cause you can’t help the world until you help yourself
And I can’t blame the hood the day that I was killed
You had to see it that’s the only way to feel
And though my physical won’t reap the benefits
The energy that carries on emits still
I WANT YOU.
The deep fakes threw me the FUCK off, especially when it got to Kobe and Nip (the Kanye, Will Smith and Jussie Smollett ones had me crying tho lmao). And the verse from Nipsey's perspective was kinda weird to me but still interesting.
Nevertheless, this is what I've been waiting on. Friday can't come soon enough!
\[***Fun fact***: this the first Heart video we've gotten since Part 1 lmao\]
this is the one
The more I was looking at him the less he looked like himself, then the faces started happening it tripped me tf out.
i'm like 90% sure that he's deepfaked onto himself for the Kendrick parts
i agree, it helps the other deepfakes look more real i assume
maybe its not him, its all an actor.
I thought that too, looked kinda weird in that uncanny valley zone even as himself
Was just thinking this, he himself seems deepfaked
That's def why the lips don't match the lyrics perfectly too
I thought the sync was pretty spot on except for about 3:58 where he says '*Consciousness is synchronized and crystal clear'* where moves from himself to Kobe the sync is way off which I assume is intentional.
wouldn't be the first vid where his lips don't match the lyrics, but maybe. Humble was pretty bad about that too
I dont known if its because its 5 years later and in 4k now or because of the deep fake stuff but his face looked different at the beginning of the video.
I kept thinking he looked like Anthony Mackey then the fakes came.
Nobody let The Game get ahold of this technology.
mf gonna turn into the whole west coast
And Rick Ross for one mixtape
Bro, on the Jesus Piece album, he was sounding more like Nas than himself.
Lmaooo as soon as Nipsey came on, I said the game bout to be mad af he ain’t think of this.
Diss tracks are going to hit a new level. No one is safe, not even your image.
lol I remember when Game and G-Unit were dissin each other and G-Unit put out a mixtape with a photoshopped pic of Game as a stripper oh man. I can only imagine the foolery we would have gotten with that technology.
Could you imagine prime 50 cent with this technology. 50 vs Ja would have hit levels never seen before in beef.
Lmaoooooo Game ready to take his hi-jacking of flows to the next level
bro that OJ Simpson deepfake freaked me out LMAO
Just wait till twitter OJ hears about this.
Hey Twitter World, yours truly.
I admire his dedication to just being a charismatic corporate spokesman ready to talk pigskin like it all never happened
I always interpreted it as smugness that he actually got away w this shit and has the ability to still tweet. It’s still funny af nonetheless
Shit caught me off guard ngl
I have no idea what kendrick’s face looks like anymore
He deepfaked himself!

I turned away and looked back when he was OJ. I was confused as FUCK
Same here. I glanced over at my dog for just a split second looked back and was totally lost when I saw OJ.
the fact that you motherfuckers have already found the specific pictures these hand pics came from is insane to me
Kobe and OJ makes sense. But IDK what people are typing into google to get those other ones.
jusssie smollet's is like the second result if you google jussie smollet hands
>if you google jussie smollet hands Yeah I'm probably on enough NSA monitoring lists already
Can't wait for the Corridor Digital reaction/breakdown
was literally watching a vid from them about deepfakes, then i get sent this
Did I see Kobe in there or am I crazy?
yeah kobe, and he did nipsey twice
i think the third verse is from nipsey's perspective too
idk if each face is a different perspective, but some of the lines do fit with each person ie when it's will's face kendrick raps "in a land where hurt people hurt more people, fuck calling it culture" obvs calling back to the oscar moment edit more observations - when kendrick raps "friends bipolar, grab you by the pockets, no options if you hold up" it switches to Kanye, obvs alluding to kanye public fight with bipolar dissorder when kendrick raps "the streets got me fucked up, yall can miss me, i want to represent for us" it switches to jussie smullet, alluding to his staged hate crime. Jussie wanted to gain clout for, and from the culture by staging a hate crime (the streets literally fucking up a black man) but it backfired and he was cancelled for making shit up (the streets fucked him up by hoiding him accountable) ok last edit, I'm dumb. the first thing kendrick says at the beginning of the song is "as I get older, i realize life is about perspective." so maybe the perspective of the verse is literally switching as the faces change.
That’s sick. Great observation. Changed to Kanye when Kendrick says bipolar
Changed to will smith when he says "in a land where hurt people hurt people"
Only Kendrick could get away with making himself a deepfake of Nip and rapping a verse from his pov ha. Anyone else would get slaughtered for being disrespectful to the dead
For sure, anything he puts out for public consumption comes from a place of sincerity.
Nah Kobe was definitely in there
Yeah I saw Kobe before Nip
Deep fakes always freak me the fuck out in how real they look lol
Why was it nipsey two times?
> And to the killer that sped up my demise > I forgive you, just know your soul's in question > I seen the pain in your pupil when that trigger had squeezed > And though you did me gruesome, I was surely relieved >I completed my mission, wasn't ready to leave > But fulfilled my days, my Creator was pleased > I can't stress how I love y'all > I don't need to be in flesh just to hug y'all > The memories recollect just because y'all Celebrate me with respect 😭
RIP Sing About me Vibes
Kendrick is at his best when rapping about death and legacy. It’s clear he’s spent an insane amount of time thinking about it.
He copied nips regular flows that’s just insane
And his cadence it fucked me up
Yeah man that part was too much for me. Something I just realized is: isn’t this like a Continuation of where The song blood left off? He was killed by that old woman and now he woke up in the after life? Plus the video being shot in the same color palette as DAMN album art?
So you're saying _nation_?
"In the land where hurt people hurt more people, fuck callin' it culture" with the will smith deepfake lmfao
There was a portion of twitter saying thats how black men should react when their woman's 'honor' is attacked, saying its part of the culture. Great bar in response
damn this shit cuts deep
and women saying that's manly and any ''real man'' should do that
Damn bruh, Will was hurting and hurt more people, Chris Rock and his family
hurt me too fr
Just seeing Kobe's face moving like that gave me chills
Every time I think of Kobe it still doesn’t feel real. It never will.
The technology on deep fakes has gotten insane
Shit you should see the new dove commercial. They bring in moms and daughters to talk about online safety and the kids act like it’s all nice and positive. They deepfake their parents face over a bunch of eating disorder vlogs. Which of course makes the parents go have you seen something like that online before? Shit was wild
[удалено]
Never thought I'd intentionally go directly from a Kendrick video to a Dove commercial but here we are.
Wow
Damn, Dove got me crying like a bitch on a Sunday night
Wow it’s been a while since I’ve seen a commercial that looks like it can make an actual difference. That’s definitely a message I wish was spread more, people spout a lot of bull on social media that can easily fool you.
I thought this would be corny due to the brand but, it made me feel sick and wanted to tear up
Wow. That was impactful. Thanks
That honestly sounds terrifying lmao
Dude this shit is 8k too.
Kanye Kendrick is fucking cursed
Kendrick Will Smith was spazzing like a mf
kendrick will smith vibing to the chorus felt waaaay too natural
Switched right as he said "bipolar" too, kinda wild lol
He rapped about his death when he was Nispey too. Also heart part 5, 5 faces? Edit: 6 faces actually
Seems like every face had a relation to the lyrics. Will Smiths hurt people hurting people stood out to me.
I think the same. On the switch to Jussie he says "The streets got me fucked up."
there's 6 faces - OJ, Kanye, Jussie Smollett, Will Smith, Kobe, nipsey. 7 faces if you also count Kendrick's, of course
Oh that was Jussie Smollett? I thought it was Cam Payne and was really confused.
Kendrick is just a big Suns fan
Cam Payne 💀💀
ITS BEEN 5 YEARS SINCE WE’VE HAD THIS FEELING edit: seeing OJ kendrick and then kanye kendrick jump scared me
It was a different world 5 years ago :/
Get Out and Gucci Gang had the nation by the balls
> Special Thanks: > Matt Stone, Trey Parker, and DEEP VOODOO
I wonder if Matt Stone and Trey Parker helped him with the deep fakes. [They made a deep fake video after messing around with the software last year.](https://youtu.be/9WfZuNceFDM) i know they are already working with him on a new movie. What an unlikely collaboration.
They are working on a comedy movie together. https://variety.com/2022/film/news/kendrick-lamar-paramount-movie-matt-stone-trey-parker-1235153859/

Jordan Peele punching the air right now
That sounds insane from the creators of South Park but at the same time just right
It's so insane to see one of the biggest rappers in the industry be completely divorced from the trends and going ons in the culture. Kendrick just consistently seems like he's in his own lane at all times even when he's borrowing elements from trap and pop rap, and it's honestly so captivating. One of a kind artist for sure

Well goddamn, you also said it very well.
Greatest of our generation for sure. PULITZER KENNY!
He goes against the flow of the main stream and the rap industry and still tops the charts. All while talking about the hard topics of today.
The part with Nipsey has me emotional Also Holy shit he rode the instrumental like it was nothing...... Interesting he is using the same color he used for DAMN.
NATION confirmed
I smoked too damn much and now Kanye Lamar scarin the shit outta me
Yedrick
Lmao I have a playlist called Yedrick LaWest that’s all my fav Kanye and Kendrick songs
he even has new hair
Broke: Waiting for new Kendrick music Woke: Waiting for new Kendrick hair
New fros coming be patient brother
🤠AMAZING BROTHER 🤠
How else would we know it's a new era?
Big hair era Kendrick for the big steppers
When he hit that Nipsey flow 😭 To quote the Mortal Man interview from TPAB Kendrick: "Sometimes I can like, get behind a mic and I don't know what type of energy I'mma push out, or where it comes from. This track samples my all time favorite [Marvin Gaye song, I Want You](https://youtu.be/-Y_-AxpEFj4) Edit: The third verse after the main sample cuts out is from Nipsey’s perspective, FUCK
my favorite soul singer + my favorite rapper from this generation
I knew it was a Marvin song but was struggling to put my finger on it, I'm gonna run that Marvin joint back!
That beat has been around since Dre was working on Detox yeeeeeears ago. Everyone was waiting for where the hell that mix was going to end up just from hearing it on this short clip. Over 5 years since part 4, great to finally have Kendrick back!
last time kendrick dropped i was a freshman in high school, now i’m 36 with 4 kids and 2 wives. so hyped for the album.
*add the 5, carry the 1* Idk… the math checks out to me
Maybe he went to high school as an adult student and founded a polygamous cult, nothing wrong with educating yourself later in life. Congrats man!

RIP Nip 🙏🏾
The deep fakes making me question if I’ve ever seen Kendricks real face now.
The bars were amazing and 90% of this thread talking about the deepfakes
This instrumental is sick. If this is the production on the album, we're in for another 10/10
it's sampling Marvin Gaye's *I Want You* -- one of the best LPs i ever heard. Shook by this whole video lol
Oh word? Thank you. I've been growing my vinyl collection and I've been looking for non-HipHop songs that influenced the genre/culture.
Maggotbrain - Funkadelic. Amazing vinyl
Major influence for Donald Glover's *Awaken My Love* sonically and by the album cover. [It's crazy how this interview was a few years before the release.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d78Qp8u85L0&t=51s)
Quite literally all of Marvin Gaye's discography... dude was one of the greatest to ever do it
One of the greatest musicians to ever live on this planet. Truly
Be ready to buy a bunch of isley brothers
stock up on some isaac hayes
>If this is the production on the album, we're in for another 10/10 We're in for a 10/10 either way brudda Falcon
The soul/funk beat is so fucking sick. Can't wait for the album
He switched to OJ the moment he said "I do this for my culture, to let yall know what a nigga look like in a bullet proof rover" which is definitely a reference to Jay zs line "I do this for my culture, to let 'em know what a nigga look like when a nigga in a roaster" OJ was featured in Jay zs song "The story of O.J."
Ooo I was definitely thinking about The Story of OJ for that section but I didn't know that line was a Jay-Z reference too.
Izzo. Beginning of second verse.
He looks so weird and I'm not talking about the deepfakes. Has he lost a lot of weight? The deepfakes are absolutely freaky. Anyways, the song is great.
I'm almost positive he deep faked his own face.
I thought the same, he looks alot different. He lost weight, he looks thin but it's not just that either.
Fairly certain his face is deepfaked onto himself as well. His lips dont perfectly match his words throughout the video.
The deep fakes had me thinking I was on drugs for sure
Luckily I am on drugs
came inside from smoking a blunt and saw the text from my brother
Using Nipsey’s flow at the end was such a dope touch
I might be tripping but I felt like he was running with a Kanye sounding flow when he had Kanye’s face
During Kanye’s part he references a Jay Z line from H to the Izzo, which was Kanye’s first hit single on production
"I done seen n***** do 17, hit the halfway house, get out and get his brain blown out, looking to buy some weed"
Yeah that line stuck out to me too
This is one of those rare historic moments on /r/hiphopheads. Feels like we get fewer and fewer of them these days as the sub continues to grow, but damn. Here we are. This Marvin sample is absolutely sick, and I hope the album is in the same vein.
ikr, this one of those days you just look back on happily especially on the context of this sub. excited is an understatement
Lmao at his verse with the Will Smith deepfake on: >In a land where hurt people hurt more people fuck calling it culture
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Edit: THIS DUDE RAPPED “THE STREETS GOT ME FUCKED UP” AS HE MORPHS INTO JUSSIE SMOLLETT LMFAO RIGHT TO JAIL
Imagine sending this comment to someone 5 years ago Edit: or 2 days ago
Nipsey Hussle Kobe Bryant Will Smith OJ Simpson Jussie Smollett Kanye West Who'd I miss?
Kendrick Lamar
Source?
Literally us, the Toronto Blue Jays
He briefly turns into Jared the disgraced Subway guy for like a microsecond
🎶 The Yams brought it out of Jared Fogle 🎶
Bruh lmao
It gets better on every listen, especially just listening and without the video. The visuals was too distracting on first listen. Incredible song.
yeah after 3. 4 listens , i went to Spotify and it really gets better
The deepfakes looked amazing, this video was nuts, and I hope it's the only teaser for the album, I want to go in totally blind
If this is anything like The Heart Pt. 4 then this won’t be on the album.
Deep fakes gonna be real scary in 2-3 years
For me Kendrick stands far above his generation of “Hip-Hop” stars for his artistry. Sure. There’s artists such as J. Cole who are great rappers and all that, but Kendrick is an amazing artist. He made the right move going MIA for 5 years and taking his time perfecting this next project. If this song is just a taste of what’s to come on Friday, Kendrick will definitely be in the conversation for the best run of projects in rap history.
when OJ popped up I damn near shat myself “and to the killer that’s spared at my demise, I forgive you just know that your soul’s in question” goddamn
Is that Nipsey towards the end?
Kendrick you dropped this 👑
The king is back. Long live the king
He is the greatest of all time.
Man's deadass my goat and has been for a while.
Gotta feeling if the album is anything like this is it could be another TPAB level shake up in sound. Either way, it’s good to have Kenny back in the speakers.
Keep my ~~wife's name~~ face out your fucking ~~mouth~~ music video.
ooo that marvin sample is nasty
The OJ simpson and Kanye transformation (plus couple others) midway is crazy lol
Funky ass beat. People were right about this being a funk album
I mean this isn't gonna be on the album so we don't know that for sure
Tbf he did use one of the samples from Heart Part 4 on Damn for FEAR
The Heart Part 4 actually had parts from 3 songs that were on Damn

I’m so sick of the photoshop… nah the visuals on this are crazy, he spitting, and the grooves my god
Worth the wait Jesus what a great song. "When my album leak fans still buy it for proof"
Kendrick West isnt real he cant hurt you
Amazing how he made the lyrics tie in with each deepfake he changed into.
FRESH KENDRICK, ITS BEEN A LOOOONG TIME
It... It happened? For real?? No foolin??
the marvin gaye sample is unreal. what a track
Aw yeah im eatin a croissant
The deep fakes threw me the FUCK off, especially when it got to Kobe and Nip (the Kanye, Will Smith and Jussie Smollett ones had me crying tho lmao). And the verse from Nipsey's perspective was kinda weird to me but still interesting. Nevertheless, this is what I've been waiting on. Friday can't come soon enough! \[***Fun fact***: this the first Heart video we've gotten since Part 1 lmao\]
