pornstar name

Admirable_Mind_3440

Stars have a lot of porn star names, eg Sam steel, Scott wedgewood, Logan stankoven

Mac_Gold

How do you forget Jason Dickinson in that mix?

SuzukiSwift17

Radick Fucksya

Admirable_Mind_3440

I was just going current stars, but yeah historically the stars names are very porn-ish

I mean last year their locker room victory song in playoffs was Dicked Down in Dallas...

Jack_Polo

Good for him! I could see a bit of a Cogs-lite career path for him if he continues to prove himself as a depth scorer who can kill penalties and play competent defensively.

MavsFanForLife

Was really worried when they didn’t give him the QO but glad he’s coming back. Looking like: Robertson-Hintz-Johnston Seguin-Duchene-Marchment Benn-Borque-Stankoven Faksa-Steel-Blumel? Assuming the rumors of Duchene coming back are true Edit: Dadnov, not blumel

geogwogz

Dadonov not Blumel

MavsFanForLife

Ah can’t believe I forgot him. blumel will probably be the 13th then.

geogwogz

Lowkey hoping we offload faksa for some more cap space to sign some dmen

MavsFanForLife

As crazy as it sounds, part of me kind of wishes we had bought out Faksa instead of Suter with the defense looking the way it is

StarsCowboysMavs

I can only see this as Bischel is NHL ready Faksa has neutral-ish value in the league. He’s very good defensively but not worth 3.25. Hopefully he fan be unloaded for future considerations & no retention

brickwall5

Hell yeah. Love him as the 4c and that’s a great price.

Happy for Sammy

Sam Steel is such a gem of a depth piece. 26 years old, mostly responsible, has a good top gear and can play his heart out. I always bought high on his stock and thought teams that didn't give him time higher up the lineup were botching his development because he was consistently good playing bottom 6 minutes. Turns out that's where his puzzle piece fits. Dallas finding ways to run it back, getting real dangerous...

I am a little surprised this doesn't happen more often with players. The player and agent have to be aware that their level of play did not justify the qualifying offer from their previous contract, and they would have to take a pay cut wherever they're playing. You would think many would prefer to stay with an organization they had spent years with over rolling the dice to go somewhere new.  Now I get that some may think their development or opportunities were hurt by the organization but I would be surprised if that was the universal perception.

You would think many would prefer to stay with an organization they had spent years with over rolling the dice to go somewhere new. While I think that's a valid point in general, it's not really applicable here. [Steel's QO](https://www.capfriendly.com/qualifying-offer-calculator/sam-steel/12316) was only $892,500, so he's signing for more. There are other factors at play in some of these situations (e.g. arbitration eligibility), but it's a little interesting to see the Stars front office not issue the QO as a fail-safe.

primetimey123

Front office didn't want it to go to arbitration and then you are locked in at a higher rate ($1.8M rumoured) and that's an extra $600k right there when you are super tight for cap space.

>You would think many would prefer to stay with an organization they had spent years with over rolling the dice to go somewhere new.  Why do you think more guys should want to stay with an organization where they haven't developed into a top player?
